Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went there by bicycle. It is a good place for some good photos, but the ocean was very dirty (like the water in all the beach’s around).

Weekly fish market on Friday with a lot of different fish stalls. Different fresh fishes, crustaces and mussels. Friendly custumers and good prices.

Good place for meeting friends and for starting boat trips through the lagune and to Venecia. Nice architecture over the canal.

If You have a hot day to spend in Chioggia, don't miss....the view is spectacular while approaching, and You can admire two works of such masters as Tintoretto and Carpaccio. There's no crowed, queuing up, no expensive tickets.

The building is imposing in a town where the buildings are on a less grand scale to other towns and cities. It is in the centre from which you can walk the bridges and draw in the atmosphere.

Beautiful avenue in Chioggia centre, where many local people have breakfast with coffee early in morning. There is a lot of traffic as well, too many cars and less traffic limitations and rules

The "Chiesa San Andrea" is an impressive church on the lively main street of Chioggia, worth a visit (if open), but I like to draw your attention to the bell tower with Venetian dial. In this tower a small clock museum is situated.

The Church of San Giacomo is located at the main street (Corso del Popolo) in central Chioggia and was constructed in the 18th century.
The church was raised to a basilica in the beginning of the 19th century.
From the outside, the structure doesn't look that special with it's a white marble parapet and frame of the main entrance, brickwork facedes and surmounted by a tympanum.
However, the interior is stunning, a marvellous altarpiece and awesome wall and ceiling paintings make this basilica definitely worth a visit.

Wide cycle path covering 95% of the area round the Lusenzo Lagoon which separates Chioggia from Sottomarina.

There is a wide walking path too, indeed I walked and it took me an hour & ten minutes at a steady pace.

You can join where you want, I did so at the Isola dell'Unione bridge (Sottomarina side).

Towards the centre of the two towns the area is built up with boats moored, the further you walk away the more you find greenery.

    Particularly attractive to at sunset.

We came here to explore Chioggia and decided to spend a day at the beach. We really liked the restaurant. The fish we had was delicious and incredibly fresh — after all this is the major fishing centre of the Veneto. We enjoyed a few hours on the beach, though sadly the water was full of algae, so we didn’t spend much time swimming. We parked, rented two lounge chairs and an umbrella for 18 Euros. Speaking Italian probably helps, since we seemed to be the only nonItalians there. A great place to get a real middle class Italian family beach experience.

This is a beautiful walk round the lagoon which separates the towns of Chioggia and Sottomarina. It's found to the western part of the towns (to the east the water becomes part of the open sea).

There are wide cycle and walking paths for 95% of the way. You can join where you want, I did so at the Isola dell'Unione bridge (Sottomarina side).

Logically enough the areas near the town centres are built up and many boats are moored, as you walk further you find yourself more in greenery and the lagoon is boat-less.

I'm normally a fast walker but I took it easy due to the heat and took photos - it took me one hour and nine minutes to walk around!
