- Louise B1 contributionThe staff in your information centre. Were wonderful, helpful and patience. The area is beautiful.Un fortunately for us it was very overcast so we didn't get to view the top .Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mandy CoombsNorth Petherton, UK554 contributionsBrilliant park for children, lots of activities to keep them occupied and while we visited without children it’s definitely a place for kids. I loved the big vegetables though & I enjoyed posing with them!!Written 24 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NgarK48 contributionsBeautiful walk to the falls. Our children aged 8 and 3 at the time loved it. The little one had to be carried for a bit up the stairs on our return but it is definitely family friendly. We ventured to the falls as the kids love rock jumping and they were amazing!Written 24 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elizabeth HWellington, New Zealand24 contributionsThis walk is suitable for nearly anyone. I am not very fit and while there were a few uphill bits, I never felt too out of breath. We did this walk with 2 kids, aged 9 & 6 and they are not outdoorsy kids. They loved it!! There is a long drop at the campsite if you’re desperate. The native plants were lush and beautiful and many very impressive kahikatea and rimu trees. It took us about an hour and a half to do as we let the kids set the pace. Definitely do it while your in Ohakune.Written 6 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tennille SAuckland, New Zealand56 contributionsBeautiful NZ sub-alpine forest and a pristine lake, that is important to local Maori and very tranquil. This is an easy walk (make sure you go to the second lake) and well worth the trip. Once you get to the lake there are no signs so if you follow the track left or right it is a track circling the whole lake (if you are up for more), however, it is fairly overgrown!Written 23 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LXdaddyHampshire, UK137 contributionsThis walk takes about 15 minutes, is on reasonably well made paths and is virtually level. With such an easy walk you don't get far into the forest but there is loads of trees and ferns to marvel at.Written 16 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PKBruceGisborne, New Zealand2 contributionsThere is only one way to do the Whanganui Journey and that is with Phil, Kirsty and their crew. Amazing guides and gear, very knowledgeable about river and it’s history. Safe, helpful and the food was epic!! Catered for various dietary requirements without hassle. Think this should be a must for all but don’t do it with anyone else.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
