We arrived on Wednesday and we got ready to do some kayaking and I had so much fun but the water was absolutely freezing. On the second day we did the survivor challenge and the high ropes which was very scary. Then on the last day we did laser tag which was so much fun.All of the instructors were lovely!

One rainy Sunday in March ‘24 our family of four set out in a Leprechaun hunt having travelled from Scotland for our leprechaun obsessed daughters birthday. This experience was absolutely magical and will be a core memory for our two children 7 and 9. Kevin, the leprechaun whisperer, was amazing with the children (and us big kids too). This is one of our most favourite family days out ever, and definitely worth the journey! If you are visiting Ireland, I couldn’t recommend more highly! We can’t wait to see the Carlichauns!! Thanks for such a wonderful experience.

After hearing so many great reviews, The Taproom had been on the list for a long time. I went with my 2 children last Sunday evening and it was worth the wait! The setting is beautiful, with big old trees and twinkling lights. Inside, it gets even better thanks to the décor and the warm and welcoming fire. We had a variety of dishes - chicken wings, goats cheese balls, two different portions of the loaded fries, chicken goujons and a pizza. The kids found room for brownies and ice cream to finish. Everything was delicious. The staff are a real asset to this place - so friendly and lovely with the children. I look forward to my next visit and would highly recommend to families, couples and groups of friends.

I organised my friends hen party via Visit Carlingford on the recommendation of another friend and cannot say enough good things about them.

Richard found us lovely accommodation and helped organise food and activities and transport to and from Carlingford also. He was so helpful (even when I had many questions!! ) and the weekend went like clockwork!

Carlingford is a great spot for a getaway and I'd highly recommend using Visit Carlingford to organise your trip!

The apartments were so spacious for 3 of us.
Views were fabulous & everything we needed there for our stay (we tend to bring more than enough supplies with us wherever we go)
Nathan in the Rocksalt bar & restaurant literally could not have done more to make us feel welcome.
Compliments to the chef, another lovely guy, who made fabulous food.
All the staff were so friendly.

We will definitely be back, thanks to all

I found the castle when looking for Carlingford Marina. Like many local attractions, it could be better signposted.
Tours can be arranged from the Carlingford Visitor's Centre - but these don't start until 11 am - and are infrequent.

It is situated on a lough-side hill about ten minutes walk from the Visitor's Centre.
Access to the inside is locked - unless you join an organised tour; however, you can enter the grounds and photograph the castle from the outside.

Its lough-side position is ideal for photography - of the castle, the lough and the surrounding hills. Canoeing and yachting activity can be observed from the castle.

We walked around the church ruins which had a welcoming feeling as you got closer which only went when we left.
The ruins have been well maintained.

This is a special place for me and no I'm no bible thumper (forgive my bad grammar) but like many of you I am part of a community yet seldom seen so in my case I'm part of Carlingford more
than most its been part of me since I was born in 1962 and my family for generations so I have some authority on Carlingford. North Commons is my heritage home still is my aunt's uncles granddad grandmother and generations before that are all part of St Michael's Church. I believe in my God but a poor Mass goer (bad grammar again) but I am spiritually aware. St Michael's church is a magical place of spirituality. I often sit alone and reflect on my past present and future. I can often hear and see the people long gone to their reward yet they still live amongst us.My present family and friends who I enjoy immensely I see and hear too in my minds eye and the future what will come behind us I see this too with the new born arriving at a alarming rate. St Michael's is here for you too its not a secret society its door are open to everyone. Take in the smells the creaking doors and my beloved steps to the gallery. The statues are as old as Christ himself I reckon but don't take my word for it. Try and take in a mass and listen to the beautiful soft Carlingford accent in unison it takes your breath away. When its all over head to the harbour and take a long look at the Lough and then try to deny God and if you still do, so what he'll still love you and Caringford will steal you heart forever. Today I'm here thinking of my late dad whom I miss immensely but yet I can see him in the church head lowered deep in prayer in the fullness of his health for that alone I am forever grateful.
