Nature & Wildlife Areas
The Reserve was established in 1999 as a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) System and is one of three NERRs in Florida. The Reserve staff manage the Guana Dam parking area, three beach lots (north, middle, and south), a trail system, the EEC, and a field office in Marineland, Florida. The Reserve’s 73,256 acres also includes Guana River Wildlife Management Area, Deep Creek State Forest, Stokes Landing Conservation Area, Fort Matanzas National Monument, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, Faver-Dykes State Park, Moses Creek Conservation Area, Pellicer Creek Conservation Area, Princess Place Preserve, and the River to Sea Preserve, all of which are managed by separate agencies. The Reserve is an important economic, ecological, and educational resource for local communities. The estuary provides valuable ecological services such as a nursery, storm protection, flood protection, oyster habitat, and water quality. Its health is fundamental to the survival of endangered ocean species such as the North Atlantic right whale (Eubalaena glacialis) and sea turtles. These resources provide economic opportunities in the form of fishing, recreational businesses, and jobs. As a NERR, the Reserve conducts scientific research, stewardship activities, and educational programs. Some of the unique aspects of this Reserve are its rich cultural history, location by the first city in America, pristine and quiet beaches, and diverse habitats.

Unfortunately the visitor center was closed, but there are several trails to take in the back island areas to walk through the forest and swamp area. The trails are well-maintained and include boardwalk areas across the swampy areas. Be on the lookout for birds.

There are not so many free access points in Ponte Vedra to the Atlantic Ocean, but at the Mickler‘s Beach there is one. It‘s only two blocks from A1A and offers free parking, outdoor showers, restrooms and changing cubicles. Great to walk in both directions. Unfortunately very busy on weekends and no sunset.

The Country Club is a great place to eat and/or golf. The restaurant wait staff is very good and the food is amazing. But the 27 hole golf course is a lot of fun to play. Tough but most fairway have lots of room for mistakes. Greens had just been sanded other wise they would have been extremely fast. lots of birds and gators to see throughout our 18 holes.

The outside restaurant view of the Atlantic is very picturesque.

You will need to go as a guest if don't belong.

What a wonderful little place! Right next to the library, sits this lovely park with flowers, trees, a children's area and tons of sea turtles. Saw lots of mom's with strollers walking their kids and in the children's area. Such a quiet and meditative place not far from our hotel. So glad we took a chance and stopped by.

Several access points to the beach along A1A. Most have free parking. Plenty of beach to walk along - relax, walk, watch the waves, watch the birds, whatever you want to enjoy.

I arranged the tour for members of the N E Florida Chapter of the Alfa Rome Owners Club. Actually, we didn't know what to expect, and were we surprised! It's an indescribable experience. Words like rarest, most complicated, most sophisticated, best existing example, built in 1923, highest price paid at auction kept popping up, etc., etc. This is a multi million dollar, international, one-of-a-kind collection.

An iconic golf course that did not disappoint. Very tough for an average golfer like me but great to play the same holes as the golf pros. Final three holes a treat. Birdied the 16th ! Missed the green at the 17th!. Overall wonderful

I was staying nearby at the Sawgrass Marriott, which has a free shuttle service to this shopping village--and I was happy to find a great alterations service in the village--Ling's-- that hemmed a pair of pants while I browsed the shops nearby for about 20 minutes. The price was good, and the shops in the plaza had nice offerings and good service for the most part.

This is a low-key farm and history setting. It is very pleasant for both the kids and the adults. There are collections of knick-knacks that the seniors will love. This is a fun hour and a half !

I had occasion to frame a water-color painting. Lisa was super helpful in the overall design of frame, mat and glass. Really careful. Offered her opinion when I asked her, and didn't push anything excessively.

Worked with me to meet budget target, timing and pick-up Great place. I live in Las Vegas and appreciate real service. This place has great support plus a cool program that let's you see what your framed picture will look like. Wayyyy cool.

Played this course as we were at Sawgrass for a few days . This is a good challenge and a tough track . A compliment to the Staduim course . Slightly different with Bermuda grass rough and unwatered compared to Staduim . Very enjoyable tho . Great service from all staff . Would recommend this course highly

As promised, Concert Golf has initiated a $7 million capital improvement plan and the first steps are already in progress. The driving range was recently re-grassed and equipped with TurfHound tee stations. TurfHound provides a surface that mimics the feel of real grass without requiring a lawnmower.! The renovation of the clubhouse is also well underway. According to Fairall, "We have completed the demolition phase and are now in the process of rebuilding everything!"

Playing Marsh Landing is like taking a 4-hour ride through a nature preserve. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer Course Design partner Ed Seay who was able to keep most of the landscape intact and incorporate the natural features of the terrain into the layout. The course uses a lot of creative routing and features two very diverse nines. The front side meanders through serene, intercoastal marshlands with the odd towering pine tree; water comes into play on every hole. The back nine looks as if it has been carved from thick lagoons and tidal marshes. You get a break from the water on the first two holes but then it re-emerges for the rest of the round. As you would expect with a country club of this caliber, fairways are manicured, bunkers are raked to near-perfection and the greens roll true. Even though the community dates back to 1985, March Landing is still one of the most prestigious developments in the area. You’ll get the picture as you pass some impressive homes on the golf course.

Marsh Landing has its share of memorable holes; my two favorites are Number 12 and 17. For many members, the 12th hole is the layout’s signature hole. It’s an incredible par 3 that plays 160 yards from the Member Tees. Start off from an elevated tee box over a soggy marshland into a small green protected in the front and back by bunkers. It’s pretty much all carry from tee to green with no real bailout area to speak of. Long is better than short!

Number 17 is a challenging par 5, especially if you’ve never played it before. It plays 495 yards, is almost dead straight, and is one of the tighter driving holes on the golf course. It does open up a bit in the landing area, but you can’t tell that from the tee box. There’s water on the right should you push your drive and a bunker on the left side if you hit it too well. What you may not know – I didn’t – is that a large wetland area comes into play about 130 yards in front of the green. Unless you can hit your fairway wood longer than you just hit your drive, your best bet is to lay up and leave yourself a manageable distance into the green which is protected by a large bunker on the right. Beware of the two fairway bunkers on the right just short of the marsh. Par is a good score here!

At a Country Club where the main focus is golf, you would expect to find first-rate practice facilities and Marsh Landing doesn’t disappoint. You can get in some practice at their full-length driving range where you can hit every club in the bag or sharpen your short-game skills on the chipping green. Then, move over to the practice green and stroke some putts.

Inside the pro shop, you’ll find the latest golf fashions and styles, so you’ll not only play your best, but you’ll also look good too!

In addition to a top-rated 18-hole championship golf course, Marsh Landing Country Club features 10 lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, a large fitness facility, and a resort-style pool.

Membership is the best way to experience all that Marsh Landing Country Club has to offer. All Memberships include primary, spouse, and children under the age of 23. Each membership category has a one-time, non-refundable initiation fee, plus monthly dues.
