Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Mu Ko Change National Park is a marine park encompassing many small islands nearby Ko Chang and much of the main island as well. Ko Chang itself is still largely covered with forests and the view combining lush green forests and the sparkling blue waters surrounding the island is spectacular!

The views are amazing, I can see beautiful nature and I took a lot of photos of the views. We drove our car up the mountain to get here

Lovely Wat among many many visited in Thailand (and Cambodia and Vietnam). In the middle of nowhere off the main road on east coast.

We were particularly intrigued with this Russian Church on the beautiful Island of Koh Chang which is traditionally Buddha. With the present economic climate there were less Russians on the Island this year! The church was built with donations and the charming Father Sergei and his wife look after this beautiful building. Definitely worth a visit.

A must stop to make merit if traveling with Thai people. It is good luck to visit this well-maintained shrine. Spend a few baht, spend a few minutes and do the right thing for your spirit.

It was quite an experience to walk all the way to the top. When we went there, they were burning something that reminded me of flowers. I always get blown away by the pure gold and how you can stare at the details forever without getting bored. I would recommend to everyone who wants to experience this beautiful oase.

This is where the main beach ends and turns into a headland from where you can see magnificent sunsets. Sand at this end is interspaced with a small amount of rock and it is a little silty. There is good tree cover so it is a nice place to spend some time out of the sun. There are plenty of facilities, restaurants etc just roadside of the beach. Also a nice restaurant nearby that is right on the beach. The water is shallow and gently shelving so good for children.

Wonderful place, a little worn out. We visited here in 2009 and just fell in love. The village is on stilts over the bay and is a mix of local homes, tourist accommodation, restaurants and tat shops.
Going back in early 2023 it is clear the place has had it hard over the last few years, with many of the buildings having fallen into disrepair and some gone entirely.
It’s still very much worth a visit and a couple of hidden gems still reside there, where you can eat or drink looking out over the bay with the sound of water all around you.

Ao Sapparot is the main pier on Ko Chang, so most visitors pass through the pier arriving and leaving the island. We were recently there for Songkran holiday (one of the busiest times for the ferry service) and were quite impressed by how efficiently and orderly they managed the queues and loading and unloading.

The Ko Chang Memorial commemorates the lives of some 36 Thai naval servicemen who lost their lives in a major naval battle during the French-Thai War in 1941. The battle was, in fact, a significant loss to the Thai navy as the three Thai warships were sunk by the larger French fleet. The memorial at the southern end of Ko Chang (eastern side) is poorly maintained and probably not of interest to most tourists unless they are hard-core history buffs. There is a small beach near the memorial, mainly used by local residents.

This place could be interesting and educational. Instead, it's a disappointing dilapidated dump. Looks like someone had some budget to burn, so they built this "shrine" that is totally uninteresting. There seems to be no maintenance or attempt to make the place of interest to visitors. The building, constructed in the shape of a ship, is an empty shell that visitors apparently don't have access to. There is a small monument to the victims of the Ko Chang naval battle outside, but it's poorly maintained and there are no educational signs in English. The small beach is used mainly by local picnickers and there was lots of trash strewn around when we stopped there. It's at the southern end of the island on the eastern side, so it's a long way to go (for nothing much of interest); don't waste your time!
