What travellers are saying
- Lori H3 contributionsWe had a great time at the zoo even though it wasn't fully open yet. It was jam packed and a lot of walking. They had strollers and wagons for rent that are reasonably priced. I would recommend going later in the season to get the full experience. Take your own food and drinks to save money and there are many places to picnic, and the lines are long at the eateries which are kind of pricey.Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shari MOmaha, NE17 contributionsWe took our grandchildren here over the holidays. Everyone had a great time. There was something for everyone, ages 2 yrs to 50+.Written 6 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ANR_78Marion, IL727 contributionsWe walked around to check out the area on a mid-morning Saturday before having our lunch and were pleasantly surprised. They had a weekend market that was in full swing with plenty of local vendors, snacks, performers, etc. Great spot for people watching. I would definitely recommend that you stop in if you have the time.Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - findjoyLittleton, CO33 contributionsThe view was amazing and it was great fun to walk between two states. The bridge is well maintained and the parks are beautiful especially on the Omaha side of the bridge.Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WestportTravelGuyWestport, CT145 contributionsWe visited the gardens in February, so we knew that most of the outdoor areas were not in season. Fortunately, the gardens featured an exhibit with dinosaurs made out of Legos, spread throughout the inner greenhouse areas, so that made the visit well worth it.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GoingGone2018Dayton, OH65 contributionsThis is closed for reno but they have the MOST AMAZING collection of Native American artwork. This collection was painted by a man who traveled with a German prince in order to preserve the trip, like a photographer would now. You must read about this before you go. There are several books about it. Prince Maximilian of Wied-Neuwied - how these paintings ended up in Omaha is a huge gift to Omaha. I go there when I visit Omaha and am sad it is temporarily closed but will be glad to go again when they reopen. It is fantastic.Written 22 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ClevlanderSpringfield, IL4,984 contributionsThis is a beautiful brown sculpture that overtake several blocks of downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The work is really exquisite and reminds us of the frontier days in this part of the country. Most definitely a place to visit while tourist in townWritten 5 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kingbk08Orange County, CA7 contributionsThis park needed an update. It was turning into a place for the homeless to hang out and there was a lot of trash everywhere. They did a nice job updating it and putting a new coat of paint on, so to speak. A lot of nice attractions now, and the trademark slides are still there!
I'm a little worried that with time, it will become a place for the homeless to hang out once again and trash might start to pile up. It seems it's already slowly going in that direction. Also, many of the new attractions seem they were built on the cheap. Many hammocks are already broken, the new monitors are gone and other new things have either fallen apart or are under repair.
I'll be curious what this looks like in another 2 years.Written 29 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Best venue for the Men's CWS. On the RF side, for day games, if you want shade - select rows 25-35 in the lower section (100).Written 25 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BigMerkGlasgow, UK2,303 contributionsWe visited here on a road trip. The cathedral is stunning inside and out. There is a huge vaulted ceiling and a large organ. - cenztIowa5,821 contributionsGood trip. We arrived at approximately 4:30 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the park. Admission into the park was free, which is always a plus. We walked up several flights of stairs, and up a small ramp in order to reach the trains. There were informational plaques located alongside the ramp, that detailed the history of trains in Omaha and the backstory of the trains we were about to view. Located at the top of the ramp were two locomotives. We were not able to go inside either of them, and only viewed them from the outside. The trains overlooked a highway and a body of water.
Tip: I recommend spending 15 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.Written 27 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
