Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cathy Doyle's lovely 2 Bedroom Cottage called the Last Resort was a great place to stay. Everything was in order and excellent appointed Kitchen supplies to cook your own meals. Shaded porch and lookout deck/ tower with views to the ocean. Cathy was so helpful and arranged a golf cart for us and met us at the Airport upon arrival. There was one restaurant open "Coral Reef" and one fabulous Bar " Willy's" which was the Island gathering spot. Whale Watching and swimming with them with Salt Cay Divers- Thank you Richard. Truly a special and serene Island.

This site is about an hour’s boat ride from Salt Cay, provided conditions are good. There are actually two wrecks, the HMS Endymion, sunk in 1790, and the General Pershing, sunk in 1921. The debris field is spread out over a large area, none of it much deeper than 40 feet. You can see several huge anchors, heavy chains, a number of cannons and at least one cannon ball from Endymion. You can also find remnants of coal that one of the ships carried. There is a greater variety and number of fish species on this site compared to local Salt Cay sites. The topography is interesting, with a nice arch to swim through, ledges to explore and little walls of coral with sandy areas in between. Both times we have dived this site, there was heavy surge and some current, which may be challenging to less experienced divers. On the boat ride back to Salt Cay, we saw whales up close and got to snorkel briefly with them.

We went to Salt Cay for the whales and weren't disappointed! We stayed for a week in Harbourside Villa, which is owned by SCD. Very nice house with 2 bedrooms and a large great room. All right across from the Dive operation. We went out 5 times for the whales and had extraordinary in-water experiences on 2 of them. Swimming with a mom. her young calf and a male excort was a peak wildlife experience! On another trip, we got excellent but brief views of a family and the other two times were quick views of whales swimming away.
Overall, a terrific experience and the staff were outstanding! Richard and Rachel were great. Antonia is the chef at the one restaurant on the island and we had fine dinners with her every night. She is a pleasure and a very good cook!
