One of the most scenic routes in Finland. No human being can drive this road without stopping and marveling at the scenery.

Lake Saimaa is an absolutely beautiful part of Finland! We travelled around the lakes for 4 days in the snow and it was beautiful! Full of winter activities. Would love to return in the summer as it will be like a different country!

The Puumalansalmi Bridge is not the highest or the longest bridge in Finland but at 25 metres high and 781 metres long it provides a wonderful view of this part of Lake Saimaa.
And you don't have to trek up steps. The tower which is 37 metres high has a lift that will accommodate a lot of people.
I would recommend it as a stop just for the view when you are visiting the many other attractions of Puumala.

This is an old small farm site telling a personal story of Finland’s past from late 19th century until the ‘70’s. There is a local caretaker on site giving a very informative and interesting overview of farm’s history and the main events of Finland’s history.

There is also a 1.5km nature trail.

Definitely a place worth a visit, accessible also with boat as there is a guest dock also for overnight stay.

Nice graveyard with shady trees and old wooden church. Can't imagine spending too much time here but nice to see if you are nearby.
