- tim dNairobi, Kenya209 contributionsAnother fantastic trip to this amazing winery. All the staff are very knowledgeable, helpful & passionate about their work which is evident in their finished product…..wonderful red wineWritten 3 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Camille C1 contributionWhen we arrived we met Nina and the owner Barbara. Nina did our wine tasting and was friendly, funny, and so easy to talk to. She explained everything perfectly. The wines were lovely and elegant! This was one of our last stops on our two week adventure through Tuscany and at the end we bought 5 bottles from them. Barbara and Nina helped guide us through the shipping process and were kind enough to ship all of our wines we had bought during our time in Tuscany back to the States! I hope to get back to Villanoviana winery someday! It was such a beautiful experience. If you are in Bolgheri, make sure you stop by.Written 19 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Runar NDrobak, Norway855 contributionsA very professional tour and tasting experience of this impressive property. It is commercial and professional, but absolutely worth a visit, and the wines are of course top notch. Worth a visit, especially since their high end compaetitors like Sassicaia/San Guido and Orma are too arrogant to accept visitors, this is highly recommendedWritten 20 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Edwin HLeeuwarden, The Netherlands4 contributionsWe had a great experience here! It was a very informative tour from the beautiful vineyards to the very impressive cellar, followed by a wine tasting. We had a great guide who took her time explaining the whole process of making wine and wine tasting. The wines were of great quality so we had to take a few bottles home :). 10/10 can recommend!Written 17 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Annette HNewcastle, UK101 contributionsWe called in 'on spec' as it was after 1pm and other wineries were closed. Fortunately this one seems to stay open all day. The lady who chatted to us spoke excellent English and in fact told us that she wanted to get as much practice with her English as possible. She gave us 5 wines to taste, talked to us for nearly an hour, and there was not a charge. The highlight for us, though, was to realise that they had huge steel barrels with red and white wine, for only 3 euros a litre, if you use your own containers. We didn't have a container and were going to use the dog's drinking bottles. However the lady took pity on him and found us a plastic bottle for our purchase. Looking forward to some good quality, cheap wine!Written 2 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Annette HNewcastle, UK101 contributionsWe called in as we were passing. The lady who greeted us (Letizia) was completely charming. She spent ages telling us about the different wines, encouraging us to try more. She gave us a small taste of each and did not charge us anything. We enjoyed our visit and left with quite a few bottles.Written 2 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Glenn NFetsund, Norway1 contributionThis is my second time visiting Caccia al Piano for Winetasting including local produce like ham, cheese and bread. The staff is very friendly and have a real passion for what they do! You fee like you have been invited to someone’s home! I have visited many wineries in the area and only a few manage to combine the wine tasting, wine knowledge and a real personal touch like Caterina at Caccia al Piano! A truly great experience! We will come back with more friends & family!Written 28 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hamid ASan Rafael, CA1 contributionWe had an amazing time visiting Le Macchiole. I had tried some their wines before and was impressed, so decided to visit the winery. This winery specializes in making 100% single varietal reds rather than red blends.
Our guide, Giovanna was knowledgeable, kind, and courteous. It was the last tour of the day and we were the only ones there. It was nice to have a private tour 😎
The winery itself looks modern and the vineyard are beautiful! We tasted 4 wines include Paleo Rosso (Cabernet Franc), Scrio (Shiraz or Syrah), and Messorio (Merlot). They had some of the older vintage available and we made sure to stock up. We had it shipped to us and we received without any problem.

I am so pleased we did as we had a fantastic tasting experience hosted by one of the sisters, Stefania who spoke great English (even though we tried our best to speak a little Italian). The 3 wines were delicious and paired with some great local meats and cheeses. Would highly recommend for a visit.Written 21 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
