What travellers are saying
- lazytravelerTacoma22Tacoma, Washington162 contributionsGreat wines - small production family winery. A friendly and useful presentation of how their wine is made and a tour of their wine making facility by one of the family members. We ordered a tasting with local products which was presented well and paired with the wines. The entire presentation and tasting was about 1.5-2 hours. They do ship their wines internationally. Beautiful area too and just a minute from the town of Barbaresco. I would recommend this winery.Written 8 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ElienAntwerp, Belgium3 contributionsAntonella is a lovely host with a great passion for the family company. She gave us a tour and explained how the wine is made, where the vineyards are etc. Then we tasted their lovely wines, accompanied with some bread sticks and water. We had a great visit and feeled very welcome. If you’re interested in wine (especially nebbiolo, barbaresco, barbera and barolo), you should visit Montaribaldi!Written 6 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AlterSchwede13Boblingen, Germany1,585 contributionsThe tower is an experience in combination with the Wine-Tasting. There are higher places, there are more panoramic views. That what is described here about wine history is not really "breathtaking". Apart from the top floor and the first floor, the tower is also uninteresting for tourists.
Important: easily accessible by elevator, you can bring your dog with you, which doesn't cost anything extra.Written 22 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The wines are excellent and hospitality very welcoming. This is a must stop to visit winery and great place to rent a room.
Thank you for the lovely time.Written 27 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very friendly and knowledgeable, in beautiful surroundings.Written 30 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TriTrondBergen, Norway209 contributionsHad a great visit at the coop, tasted some great wines which are sold at reasonable prices. Not to be missed when visiting the city - maybe the best wine cooperation in Italy.Written 12 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sawright63vancouver254 contributionsWe were visiting the area and wanted to try some Barbaresco wines. Most of the places we saw were closed at the time, but Gigi Bianco’s was open. The tastings were free as long as you purchased some wine (which wasn’t hard). We all went away with a few bottles to take back to Canada. They wrapped and boxed them up very well for the journey.
Thank you for putting some sunshine into our wet cold day in Barbaresco.Written 19 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She was extremely generous with her time and extensive knowledge of wine. Not only is the wine here phenomenal but so are the people. This is a must-see vineyard on your visit to Piedmont.Written 1 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brenda LPhiladelphia, PA11 contributionsMy girlfriends and I really enjoyed the wine tasting from the youngest to the oldest wines. It was a great learning experience for us to better understand the subtle and not so subtle changes in the wine with aging. Luca was great and we had a blast and shipped some bottles home that we can’t wait to share with our loved ones!Written 21 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - moldaniLenzburg, Switzerland33 contributionsOur hotel arranged an appointment for wine tasting at Carlo Giacosa. Whereas they seemed really friendly, only the son spoke some english and it seemed as if he does not do wine tastings a lot (which is ok but then I would not offer tastings in english). We got one wine after the other with almost no explanation. So for us it felt quite rushed without any passion and value.
Also, the tasting room was lacking atmosphere.Written 9 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were given tour of the cellars which are incredible, going down in the lift to the lower floor where the humidity and temperature are all controlled.
The views across the vineyards are stunning, the information on pest control and sustainability very informative.
It was interesting to have a wine tasting with side by side tastings, a different perspective to compare flavours etc.
My daughter speaks fluent Italian but I don't so the explanation was in English, this was clear and precise and easy to follow.
A wonderful experience and can highly recommend.Written 9 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
