We biked through it from Cecina to the Bagni Pineta in Marina Di Bibbona. Easy and lovely ride (only some sandy spots are a bit more difficult to cross). Many stops on the way to admire the sea.

I was apprehensive as we are used to a high quality ZOO near our home. But the park was nice and we enjoyed ourselves. There's a winding path mostly in shade (trees, bushes) and somebody might find it quite long. It took us around 3 hours. Some of the enclosures are full of bushes or behind planks,so you might miss the animals hidden somewhere (we didn't mind at all, we were glad the animals have hiding spaces). All in all,I would recommend this, esp. for families with kids.Don't forget the stroller,if you have smaller children.

    Great park, not too busy.
We expected it to be bigger but kids 16,14 & 9 all had great fun.
Lifeguards seemed a little jaded…….some not overly attentive.
Ground was a little gritty (sore to walk on) so I’d recommend wearing water shoes (not crocs) as they are the only ones wearable on the slides

Further south you go the more natural the beach becomes, which is lovely but there aren't any signs at the exits so take a picture where you enter the beach to make it easy to find your way back.

Sand isn't very nice here, it varies from coarse to shingle and everything between. Take proper sandles to avoid the discomfort!

We actually decided to visit the nude beach as it was away from the loud families with dogs and children, bars and music. Genuinely a lovely experience but the walk back was very long!

Lots of interesting artifacts from an area that is certainly rich in archaeological history. There was a strange use of English though- some of the displays had English translations, but many did not. For visitors from Scandinavia this obviously presented a bit of a challenge. Maybe this is something they're updating though? In any case, it's worth a visit if you're in the area.

visited the museum and bought a joint ticket which included this place, wandered around the site above ground, just broken walls and nothing of huge interest then when into the cistern. Wow! huge with long tunnels leading to wells but looking up through them to the broken buildings above, amazing, can't believe its in such good order. If you are passing or staying anywhere near this then its a must visit
