- Jennifer J3 contributionsIf I could give this evening 100 stars out of 5, I would. An experience that I will never forget! Charming hosts, delicious food and absolutely amazing wine and olive oil pairings. - operalover939Toronto, Canada3,008 contributionsWe parked our car in the lot at the foot of the funicular and took it up to the old town. A gently rising road then took us to the museum at the top. We walked some distance to the left and got a fine view across the fields and forests to the distant towers of San Gimignano. Well worth the walk!Written 26 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DMBrighton, UK83 contributionsExtremely well laid out. Not a museum as opposed to a place. Unexpectedly good. The bell tower well worth the 64 steps if you are able for the viewWritten 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - amarcord83Oslo, Norway473 contributionsAs an old Italianist I felt obliged to visit Boccaccio's house; it felt like an intellectual pilgrimage. The exhibitions themselves are quite basic, but the actual experience of visiting the house more than makes up for it. Giovanni Boccaccio is buried in the little church nearby.Written 26 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lsalv7 contributionsNothing that makes it a must see, but the area surrounding the church is very nice. A visit that doesn't take that long.Written 14 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kayley B1 contributionLong overdue review for an outstanding day! This was the highlight of our trip by far.
We were lucky to end up being the only 4 people on our day. We met Luca at a cafe in town. We followed him to meet Luigi and Rospo(the dog). Luca translated for his dad. It was educational and incredible to watch Rospo in work-mode, and then to be playful and sweet. We were obsessed with Rospo and wanted to take him home!
Next we followed Luca to their property, where they had an outside kitchen overlooking their vineyards. It was a gorgeous site! We met Simone, Luca’s brother, and he led the cooking. Luca made us a charcuterie board and got us wine while we began to cook. This was a fully immersive experience. We all got to participate in cooking and loved every second of it! All of the food prepared was delicious and we enjoyed each course right after making it so it was nice and hot. For many other cooking classes only one person gets to cook or chop; but they made sure to include us all.
Luca told us he makes the wine with some others in his family from the grapes on their property. We loved the Rose & Chianti. At the end of the day we bought wine, small bowls, wooden spoons, tongs, etc.
It was a truly fantastic day that we have looked back on numerous times with nothing but glowing reviews!! We have recommended them to everyone going to Tuscany. A couple friends have gone since and also raved about this amazing experience. If we ever find ourselves back in Tuscany I know we will be back!Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We made our own pasta under the guidance of chef Wilma and enjoyed it very much. - Brun066Florence, Italy12,580 contributionsThis park has been organized in the hilly area on the north-east of "Certaldo alta", therefore on the opposite side that the valley bottom (where the new city is located, around the railway station).
The initiative is certainly commendable, being aimed at offering an outdoor leisure area to the Certaldo citizens, and also to those coming from outside. In fact, on the beautiful Sunday in May when we visited it, it was rather popular with the public, especially walkers and runners.
However we found a weakness in the initiative: the poor signage of hiking trails that run through the park.
We were indeed intending to make a ring path from Certaldo Alta up to the "San Giorsolé" settlement, then back to Certaldo through a different path; sadly, although we had a detailed route description (in Italian) and also a detailed map (both downloadable by googling "webalice adrianoassedi certaldo"), just for the path very poorly signposted we went wrong.
The hiking turned out to be equally pleasant; but we believe it is a duty to report this flaw.Written 20 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This church is accessible by purchasing a ticket to the Palazzo Pretorio and is on the right. Like the frescoes housed in Castelfiorentino, these adorned a tabernacle originally in a chapel by a river, subsequently moved for protection from flooding.
Really lovely though sadly The Tabernacle of the Executed in Certaldo was meant for those being executed to receive their last solace. The tabernacle in Castelfiorentino was along the road used by pilgrims and travelers. All are worth a detour.Written 12 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcia406Brownsville, TX43 contributionsI especially liked the descent into the basement where there was a funeral cart, a medieval pharmacy display and a medieval potters wheel.
One can visit Saint Giulia's cell in the convent, the typical reliquaries
and church artifacts, paintings and prints.Written 27 June 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Riccardo, Shilpa and all the staff were wonderful, as were the other guests during our week there. The week is a nice balance of cooking and sight seeing, with opportunities to relax poolside if you wanted to. I would highly recommend this experience to others. It was the highlight for me during our 5 weeks in Europe.

Shilpa and Riccardo were very welcoming and accommodating hosts, they even helped us to print our voting papers so that we could vote from overseas! The food was exceptional and I probably ate twice as much as I normally do because of this. I throughly enjoyed the cooking classes and the staff were friendly and helpful. We visited Florence and Siena and the tour guides (who were organised by Organic Tuscany) were very passionate about their cities and gave engaging tours. I particularly liked the tour that our guide gave of Florence where we saw a local market and she got us some samples of cheese and truffle dishes. The other guests were friendly and we all got along really well. The villa has a spectacular view and it was nice to call Il Pino home for a week! Overall it was a wonderful vacation and my only regret is that we didn’t manage to get a photo of everyone.
