I'm not sure Wyndham is giving answers yet, but I would definitely call them just to see. I have heard airlines are working with customers regarding no-fee changes since they will not be able to travel to STT. What Irma didn't destroy Maria flooded pretty much. The pool bar, store, and dive shop were all semi-okay after Irma, but after Maria the dive shop completely collapsed, and now the structural integrity of the pool & bar are in question. There was horrible flooding from Maria. The pictures I've seen so far show the beach practically gone. The water line goes all the way to the collapsed dive bar. Irma ruined Lanai, and there was going to be major repairs to structure and roofs of the check-in building too. I don't think they had even started that before Maria hit. My main question would be whether St Thomas as a whole is even ready for visitors too. Some areas are in complete devastation. Sorry to give such bad news.
Newest information I have seen is that Wyndham has officially canceled all reservations for the remainder of 2017, and I believe will reevaluate at the beginning of 2018 the reservations for the new year. Sorry.
I am in a facebook group for BBC that has put up some pictures and made some updates since Irma came through. The main room buildings all kept their roofs & structural integrity, but I am unsure of water damage. The Limetree bar & store, the Aqua Marine building, and the pool are also fine as far as I can tell. Perhaps minimal damage, but nothing long term. The check-in building and gym room sustained more damage since they are up on the hill, but I imagine Wyndham will probably step in and make sure those are fixed within a reasonable time frame. Where you are going to see the biggest problem is the Lanai restaurant because it is privately owned & operated on the Wyndham property. It has major damage, and I don't expect that it will reopen any time soon unfortunately. Very sad since it hasn't even been open a year, and it was SO good! I would definitely keep in touch with Wyndham in the coming months to make sure everything will be back in proper order for your trip end of the year.
