Casa Del Maya is a lovingly restored home that celebrates the culture and craft of the Mayan people. We have 6 guest rooms, a refreshing pool, Wi-Fi throughout, TV, air conditioning, and a full gourmet breakfast, all located in historic Santa Ana in Merida centro. We invite you to come stay with us to enjoy Merida and all it has to offer, and we hope you return because we made you feel at home. Casa Del Maya B&B is not a bustling hotel, but a very private home where our goal is to make each person feel welcome and feel at home ... a place where you can just be yourself and unwind.

I booked Casa Del Maya due to the rave reviews and I was not disappointed. From the outside it hides the structure and size of this building and garden. It is an hidden oasis of calm from the crowds and sun. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout. The picture in the foyer is absolutely lovely. There is an honesty bar and use of the swimming pool 24/7. As for the accommodation it was idyllic and a rest bite from the city. I couldn't believe how quiet it was. The breakfast was plentiful with a different choice every day. Aaron was amazing, so helpful, polite and cheerful. It was good to see George the owner every morning, and his lovely dog on our last day. There is also on street parking which is another bonus, and an approximate 15 - 20 mins walk to the city centre. There are nearby eateries such as a pizza restaurant and burger place which caters for vegetarians. Do get restaurant recommendations from Aaron as they are superb. I cannot rave about Casa Del Maya enough. We will certainly return.

Property's Favourite Review
Casa del Maya is a small, beautifully decorated hotel in central Merida, about 10-15 minutes walk from the central plaza. The owners (George and Sarah) are very friendly and informative. They helped us solve a problem with our rental car. The breakfasts are delicious, brought to the table already plated by two cheerful ladies. There is a nice small pool, which we only found time to use once. My wife and I stayed in a small room on the ground floor, overlooking the pool, very nice. My wife's two sisters stayed in a larger upstairs room. Each room has its own door opening to the long, narrow courtyard, very pleasant. I clicked below that we were not required to wear face masks or do social distancing, which I consider a plus. My wife and I don't wear masks unless forced, and the Casa del Maya didn't force us, which I appreciated. None of the other guests were interested in wearing masks, either, from what I could see. The staff did wear masks; I guess they were required to wear them.

We could not have been more pleased with this gem of a hotel. Our room had plenty of room, a very comfortable bed, beautiful decor, and a wonderful shower. The breakfasts were the best we had on our two-week trip to the Yucatan. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Aaron, the manager, went out of his way to help us, especially with a problem with a missing passport. (It turned up on Tren Maya, but before the train contacted me Aaron made many calls for us.)The owner, George, is a kind and very interesting man. There are plenty of places to relax in the beautiful garden. We also loved our little balcony overlooking the charming pool. P.S. Amazing authentic pizza one block away, and many restaurants on the way to and from the beautiful sights of Merida.

We spent four nights at this lovely B&B which allowed us enough time to visit the historic centre of Mérida and its museums, some amazing cenotes and still be able to enjoy the quiet shade of the garden with its cooling pool. Having now braced the crowds and the hundreds of souvenir stalls at Chichén Itzá, I wish we had spent an extra day at the BnB so that we could have visited the archaeological site of Uxmal instead! The local staff were great and a special mention must be made of the guy who manages the property on a daily basis. He helped us out greatly with advice, translations and transport. The B&B is located in a quiet street, close to Calle 47 where there’s a range of great eating places, from the local pizza bar to the amazing Micaela Mar y Leña. It’s also an easy 15-20 minute walk to the historic centre. The breakfasts are home cooked and vary from day to day and they will adjust for any allergies if you let them know in advance. There is good WiFi throughout the BnB. We had a great stay and would definitely go back if in the area again.

Very charming and low key. It's a true BnB -- owners are present and welcoming and happy to make you happy, plus, the breakfasts are sensational. Manager Aron is a truly nice guy, very responsible and at your service all day. This personal touch of owners (George and Sarah) and Aron makes a huge difference in a vacation.

A real gem In the city, George and Sarah welcome you to their oasis of Maya calm. The unassuming doors open onto a lovely high ceiling reception hall with an honour bar. Through is the pool and ample seating exactly as the photos show. The setting is lovely. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a Mayan decor. The special touch is the customer service from Sarah, George and the staff everyone is friendly and so keen to make your stay in Merida a good one with advice and attention from the WhatsApp message prior to check-in (also available for that query when you are out), to the daily check-up a breakfast that you are all set for the day ahead. Really special.

We stayed at this enchanting and peaceful Casita for just about a week and very much enjoyed our experience. The decor is beautiful and soul-touching, the food is excellent, the hosts and staff are friendly, warm and on top of things. Don't get me started on the fun piano in the lobby I couldn't resist playing. We were perfectly located too - very close to town with all its own enchantments. Even the shampoo is great! Sarah made me a bottle to take with me when we left - how thoughtful is that? I've been recommending Casa Del Maya to all my traveling friends and am now recommending it highly to you. It has a super relaxing vibe. You'll really feel the peace and the 'bliss.'
