This is a truly wonderful place. David and Clare are first class hosts without a shadow of a doubt. It is absolutely superb. Spotlessly clean and tidy, comfortable and welcoming. We wish we could be back there tomorrow. The place cannot be bettered.

I had a double room which the owners kindly let me use as a single occupancy, and it's been a wonderful stay. The room, bathroom and shower are all spotless and Clare and David cook a wonderful choice of breakfasts. The bed is comfortable, with a great view of the fells and it's very peaceful. All this is located a couple of minutes walk from the market square in the centre of Keswick. It's very good value for money and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Everything about our 2 night stay was amazing. Clare and David are first class hosts who made us very welcome. They were so helpful and friendly. The whole property is very tastefully furnished and very clean. Our room, although not huge, was very well furnished with a small sofa, dressing table and a very comfy double bed (NB. they also have king size rooms). Towels and linen are of really good quality. David and Clare go that extra mile to provide LOTS of nice extras not normally found at the room price charged - such as - Locally made, quality, eco-friendly toiletries, cotton wool pads and a great selection of tea/coffee making goodies. Fresh milk was also in our room which is so much nicer than the usual UHT. Breakfast is amazing. To start there's a great selection of cereal, fruit and yogurts followed by a "superior" hot food menu which includes smoked salmon and black pudding specials. David's cooking receives a 5 star - just try his scrambled eggs! They were very helpful in providing gluten free sausages and toast for my wife - a great bonus.…

Spent 3 nights at Thornleigh as a base for exploring the region. Proprietors Clare and David were very helpful and welcoming throughout , whether for assistance in planning itineraries or advice on local eateries. Thornleigh itself is well-situated, being only a short stroll from the town centre. On-site parking is an additional bonus. The room itself was comfortable with lovely views out over Latrigg and Skiddaw. My wife has asked that I also note a number of additional personal touches provided in the room by Clare, which were appreciated. Breakfast was a delicious choice of veg or meat cooked options as well as cereal, juice, etc. Overall, a very pleasant stay in this lovely Lakeland town, our enjoyment being added to in no small part by the warmth of our hosts.

Brilliant weekend spent in Keswick and Clare and David could not have been more welcoming. They went above and beyond to give us information and help climbing scafell - even filling us up a flask of tea to take up the hill! Breakfasts were brilliant and the rooms are spotless. 10/10 would recommend Thornleigh guest house. Thank you Clare and David for the outstanding hospitality! Charlotte and Fiona

We've been visiting Keswick for many years, and stayed in many different b&bs but none as clean and as friendly as Thornleigh. Claire and David greeted us on arrival with a big smile. Nothing was to much trouble and David made a wonderful breakfast, both Claire and David made a point of remembering everybody's first name. we would definitely recommend Thornleigh guest house.

We have just come back from our third visit to Thornleigh, and have booked again for next year. Clare and David run an excellent guest house, remembering every bodies names. The rooms at the back have excellent views of Skiddaw. Rooms . Excellent Breakfast. Excellent. Location. Excellent. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on our annual Keswick trip. Did I mention it was excellent??
