Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our stay at the Davenport was definitely made by the friendly and attentive staff - my husband and I struggled to get a Taxi on St Patty's day but Caio, the night receptionist made sure we got one, even after a 40 minute wait. From the breakfast to the room service, we really felt looked after by the Davenport staff!

Spent one week in Dublin in this hotel for a business trip. Overall it was great: the hotel is clean, modern, and the employees are very welcoming and attentive. I also asked for a silent room and got it.

Great stay at an old favourite .not been for 20 years and had a great experience at check in . Spacious clean room and great breakfast ,,, only down side - £10 tray charge on room service which accompanied a rather limp tasteless club sandwich.. centrally located and ideal for a weekend in Dublin.

Comfiest bed in the world in a beautiful, newly refurbed room. The hotel was so quiet, we slept so well. We had a warm welcome and the staff were very helpful. A luxury stay in a great, quiet location. Couldn't have been better.

Hotel is ok, location is not bad , I was disappointed to find out you have to go to another hotel cross the street to use their gym. It's a nice gym, as far as hotel gyms go, but this is the first time I have ever had to go to a different hotel gym especially with the rain and cold so keep that in mind when choosing this hotel if you like to use the fitness facility. The reception staff were friendly smooth check in , 4 stars goes mostly for the breakfast really good variety of food and service was excellent manager and staff very friendly and attentive , Bar was good nice cocktails but so cold we mentioned it twice to the bartender and the reception but nothing was done , room was spacious and clean , overall worth it .

Pros: The hotel is in a wonderful location, especially for families/young families with walking distance to the museums and lovely parks. Taxis arrive quickly so getting to the other side of the river or town is very accessible. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. The bed is comfortable, AC is quiet and works well and the pillow menu is appreciated. We were upgraded to an executive room on arrival and a lovely welcome platter was in our room. The staff are overall friendly and want to assist you, it’s truly a wonderful place to stay in Dublin and I would say it is value for money. Cons: There is a noise issue with the hotel, we did notice loud TVs could be heard from neighbouring rooms and people raising their voices could be heard in the evenings. The doors are loud to close so whenever someone on our floor left or entered their room we did have to settle our baby to sleep. I will say that when we did raise these issues they were promptly dealt with, noise was investigated and we were offered another room however for a few night stay and to move and repack all of our baby’s things we didn’t feel it was worth it. We were disturbed on our last night by housekeeping at 1am who thought we’d ordered pillows when we hadn’t - this woke us and our baby up so frustrating at the time and having to ensure reception that we were asleep and definitely did not order pillows was a task in itself. That being said, we were granted late check out and received an apology for the inconvenience. Lastly, there is no bathroom fan/vent! Because we spent a lot of time in the hotel with our baby needing to nap and sleeping early I don’t think the noise lends to a restful stay, however it is a great place to stay if you’ll be out and about enjoying late nights in the pubs!

We love the Davenport. Second visit and it’s just home to us. Location, staff, and food are all amazing! I couldn’t recommend this property enough. We plan to visit Dublin and Ireland again soon and we will be booking our third stay here.

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night to enjoy the City Centre. We were really impressed with the staff, especially at the front desk. The hotel in a beautiful building in an ideal location, walking distance to all the key city centre locations. Tbe food, room, location all excellent, and its right beside art galleries and Merrion Square.

Quite disappointed with the service when we first checked in yesterday afternoon around 4pm, especially when booked the top notch room in davenport after reading they are a luxury hotel. We travel alot, this room is OK but for the word luxury, not very customer oriented, room is big yes, pillows are too soft, no bath tub, room is quite dark, amenities not that much in the room honestly, such as tissues and etc or maybe not what we expected. Living hall is very..hmm simple, not very luxury touch, not much views too. I booked for 3 pax but they told me system showed only 2 when my trip.com said 3. 😿probably Alex hotel is better which is also theirs, not sure.

If you are visiting Dublin as a tourist, choose this hotel especially for families. The location is brilliant and the hotel looks in excellent condition. Our Room was lovely and a decent size with everything you could need. What stands out about this hotel is the staff. They are lovely and always there to help ,We went out one night and it was raining. Before I could get to the door to leave a member of staff chased after me and handed me an umbrella to borrow. When you return they immediately welcome you back. Cleaners clean the room until they are spotless. The breakfast was fantastic staff very attentive and polite, eggs benedict were so delicious and service was great . I cannot fault anything about this hotel and when we return this will be the hotel we use.
