Dear Jepisco, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Boscolo Exedra Nice, Autograph Collection and providing your honest feedback on TripAdvisor, we regret to learn that your stay was not of your satisfaction even though we believe that you rating are not totally fair toward our property, in consideration of the fact that the lost luggage originated by Air France are not totally of our responsibility and I think we did our best in your case. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations about our room configurations and style. Our property was completely renovated in 2009 we usually receive nice returns for the quality and space of our rooms, probably the open space concept of the bathroom created by our architect was not of your satisfaction, we wonder why you did ask for another room as we do have available also some rooms with separate bathrooms from the bedrooms. As a teachable moment, we have shared your feedback of the delay in delivering the luggage not lost and the housekeeping with the appropriate hotel team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place to prevent the issues encountered especially regarding this. Please accept our sincere apologies for the fly found in your room which of course was not predictable as coming from outside our shift leader of the FO Adriana propose you to change the room but we have not receive a follow-up from you on this. Furthermore concerning the complaint about the terrace menu written only in French we explained you all that only the dishes of the day are marked in French but that the waiter can translate them. You saw the regular menu in English standing in the front desk and you just did not like it, it seems you prefer to eat something else. We tried to explain you that we could ask to the chef what we could do for you something different on spot and that there was also the room service and the bar but you just decide to leave. Regarding the issue of the luggage missed by Air France, here is what was referred by our associates: as soon as you came at the desk to see us at night to call the company Air France for your luggage, unfortunately, we did not manage to get them on the phone. The next day in the morning shift we tried again, with no answer. When you came to see us at night, we call the number and stay online 15 min. While still staying online we offer you to go up to your room and once we got Air France we will contact you in the room to give you news. Your answer was that it was 3 days that you were waiting and decide to stand in front of us waiting for half-hour response. After speaking with Air France we were informed that they still have not found their luggage so we changed the mailing address contact to the address of the hotel in Munich where you were going. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations about the update of our room quality, effectively we do have in some rooms iPod deck not of the last generation but we provide on request adaptors to fit them with the last models available when Apple change the plugs. Our property was completely renovated in 2009 so it less than 10 years now, and we usually receive nice returns for the quality and space of our rooms, probably the open space concept of the bathroom created by our architect was not of your satisfaction, we wonder why you did ask for another room as we do have available also some rooms with separate bathrooms from the bedrooms. As a teachable moment, we have shared your feedback of USB plugs to be implemented with the appropriate hotel team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place to prevent the issues encountered especially regarding this. Concerning the road construction you have mentioned in your review it is a project of the City of Nice that start in 2015 to build an underground tram line station that will travel from the airport terminal to the harbor of the city. We are sure you will understand that this works are totally out of our control, as well as the disturbances vary from day to day but I assure that the Hotel - as indicated in different reviews by various guest - is perfectly soundproof. We are sending a pre-arrival email to all guests to inform of the different directions due to this road works and explain not to use the GPS indication instead, if we have failed in doing so with you please accept our excuse, this was probably due to the mail missing in your record, Last but not least effectively our ground floor F&B outlets are suffering during the day even though the restaurant La Pescheria is open in the evening only and when the works are close and it is very quiet due to less traffic. Beside this we have recently inaugurated our rooftop terrace Le BClub - this outlet was not mention in your review – it is open for lunch and dinner and is not impacted by the noises being on top of the building at the 6th floor where you have nice and panoramic views of the old city and hills surrounding. Fortunately in the near future (early 2019) we will have the privilege to have a direct connection in front of the Hotel to the airport terminal in only 20 minutes Once again, thank you for your valued feedback and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Nice. Dear Guest, thank you for sharing your recent experience at the Boscolo Exedra Nice, Autograph Collection on Tripadvisor. We are delighted to read that you spent a pleasant time with us, particularly we thank you for your appreciations concerning the quality of our spacious rooms, the supportive staff and our particular American breakfast served at table. Concerning the Club Lounge not available as many Autograph Hotels, we are an historical building so in the initial project the classic configuration of the Marriott Hotel with an Executive Lounge was not projected, however for all MR Elite Gold and Platinum members we are offering points or a complimentary breakfast instead, do not hesitate next time to take advantage of this alternative benefit. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations about the room quality you have been assigned in a deluxe internal room of 30 square meters and probably the open space concept of the bathroom created by our architect was not of your satisfaction, we wonder why you did ask for another room during your stay as we do have available also some rooms withe separate bathrooms from the bedrooms. As a teachable moment, we have shared your feedback with the appropriate hotel team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place to prevent the issues encountered especially regarding this. Concerning the story about the taxi driver for a question of clarification let us explain to the readers the version return from our associates team on duty that night when you came back by taxi from Eze to the hotel at 11:15 pm.The taxi has been called by the restaurant where you were enjoying your diner. Arriving at the hotel, you were disagreeing with the fare of 79€ announced by the taxi driver and you refused to pay for it. Our Front Desk Team let you understand that the price of the ride was correct for a night ride from Eze Village, considering that there is no taxi station over there and the driver needs to come from the next city (Villefranche sur Mer). The driver also offered you to note down his registration number and to claim to the taxi company, which you refused to do. You were comparing taxi fares vs. Uber service. Our team tried to bring to your understanding that Uber is always cheaper than any taxi all around the world. The taxi chauffeur began to get annoyed by the situation as this situation was impacting his schedule. Following, you have requested from us to call the police, which we did. Then, the chauffeur also asked us to call the police as he was complaining that you damaged the door of his van. While one of our Front Desk associate was trying to speak with the police over the phone, the chauffeur was becoming always more angry but never violent towards you and our team also tried to calm him down. Then, the police arrived to the hotel and asked you to show your passports, which you refused. Our Front Desk associate informed you that the procedure is common because the police agents needs to write a report of the situation with names and exact identity details and also warned you that if you refuse the police would take you to the police station. The same Front Desk agent has assisted by translating all the questions from the policemen to you and your answers as well. Then, you decided to pay only for 50€ instead of the 79€ requested by the taxi driver and he declined the money because the car was also damaged. The police informed you that it was too late for deciding to pay for the fare as they were already dealing with the situation on spot and as the taxi driver was willing to file a complaint against you. At this moment, you finally decided to show your passport but it was also too late. The policemen refused because you were not cooperative from the beginning. Our Front Office team tried to argue in your favor to convince the policemen not to drive you to the station but your behavior was unacceptable for them. At 00.30 am, the police drove you to the station with two police cars for security reasons. Our Front Office Team was not able to escort you to the police station as the French Labor Law do not allow employees to walk out of the work place for insurance reasons. One of our Front Desk associate extended her working hours for 1.5 hour longer in order to provide you some support and translation assistance. You came back to the hotel at 1.10 am. The day after, July 19th, you requested to shorten your stay, which we agreed exceptionally without penalty. The Front Desk Associate, who assisted you the evening before, asked you for some news when she met you again in the afternoon and you have even thanked her for her assistance. Once again, thank you for your valued feedback and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Nice. Sincerely, The Management
