We stayed here for a few days last week purely based on the fact we were so impressed with the place in December 2022. Unfortunately, the standards haven't remained the same. The walk up to the hotel was challenging due to the endless roadworks and removal of block paving. A detour around backstreets was in order with a final weave between railings, builders tape and cement buckets. Not ideal. The lady on reception kindly gave us a card to the room which was on the same floor as last time but the opposite side. First glance was okay but after settling into the room I noticed the door stop was loose and flew across the room on impact-heavy duty metal doorstop too. The sink in the bathroom must've been blocked as it took over half an hour to drain once the water had ran. The air conditioning, once turned on to decent setting, was extremely noisy which vibrated and echoed around the room. Both my husband and I were looking forward to the breakfast but even that had deteriorated. In 2022 the bacon, sausages and egg were cooked to perfection, this time - different story. Pale slithers of anaemic fatty rashers, rubber eggs and no sign of sausages to be seen. I was quite happy with the croissants though. On the whole, and on comparison, corners have been cut regarding food but prices have soared. Such a shame as we honestly thought we'd found a gem of a place a few footsteps from the beach, now however, it's like a poor travel lodge with a ninja warrior course to endure once you leave the building and meet the roadworks. A little disappointing.

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location. Close to all amenities and a great beach. The resort had an authentic Spanish vibe and wasn’t too busy despite the great Carnivale atmosphere. Hotel staff were hardworking, polite and friendly

We had a city view with balcony. The room was spacious, with a decent sized bathroom and balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful. Even though the gym equipment seemed perfectly adequate it was all being replaced with brand new stuff. Roof top pool was small but could always get a bed. Breakfast was outstanding. The choice, quality and freshness was excellent.

In no particular order EXTENSIVE Road works in front of hotel when we arrived on 21 December . No one mentioned EXTENSIVE road works when we made our booking ( otherwise we would not have booked it!) . Could see a road digger JCB/CAT in front of cafeteria were we were having breakfast. GYM :Probably has not been used for years. Very different from the photo the Lancelot put on their website. The gym equipment advertised on website is not necessarily the one you will find in the hotel gym . No loo brush in rooms . For a hotel which boosts a 4 star Trip advisor rating in their lobby this is very poor: Clean your skid marks with your hand and loo paper . food mediocre and limited. Poor choice. No variety .Not a buffet but more like a cafeteria. I can open a bag of frozen peas and carrots at home . We all eat in the cafeteria level 0 with a view on pavement and extensive road works . They have a restaurant on first floor with sea view but obviously not for us who had paid to spend several nights in the hotel . I haven't seen the restaurant been used so far. Oh that's a lie we were moved to the restaurant on the 29 December ( which is by the way much smaller than the cafeteria at level 0) You'll need a knife to cut their morning rolls they are so hard. Dishes were mainly cold and soups were lukewarm . Pasta seems to be a favorite and a staple diet. fruit salads came from tins. some of the fried eggs were freezing cold. a 4 star hotel?. I don't think so ! Last evening ( 30.12.2024) two large dishes one filled with gouda cheese an the second with what looked like feta cheese. I don't call that cooking. On more than one occasion complete chaos at breakfast. .Long queue for people to even get a table. Not enough tables in the cafeteria. Cleaning tables within hearing distance of breakfast tables ie one meter : crash bang wallop.. As not enough tables on one occasion we were sat at the back of cafeteria and there was a serious draft there. Don't ask for a matrimonial bed/room as you will end with a tiny bed.. We had to change rooms as you could not swing a cat in the matrimonial room ( and I am not a big person) . We did not have a see view in the second room except that in the building opposite they had full view into our bedroom. However the second room with twin beds was much nicer and more spacious. Shower seems to be blocked.. Not acceptable. the noise ( inter alia ) : Wednesday 27th December 22pm kids running up and down in corridor second floor Woken up at 5 44am by people speaking VERY loudly on second floor where room is. Woken up on several occasions by someone above my room. Not the first time. I have mentioned it to reception. Sunday 31st December: 7.32 am door slamming as well as 01.26am approximately pounding upstairs . A lot of slamming doors but seems to be in most hotels unfortunately . no proper communication between staff it seems. Sunday 31 .12.although the manager had agreed we could stay until 2 or 3pm on the 31.12.2023 when we came back from our morning walk we were locked out of our room . So went back to reception. this person ( I wont name) ( and who was there when I spoke to the manager several days earlier) pretended not to understand what I was saying) . There was no record on their database that we could have a late check out. so I had to talk to the manager again . People seemed extremely rude especially it seems women. No "excuse me" no "thank you" ( they seem mainly Spanish speaking. It pains me to say that as I am half Spanish ) I have been with Tui holiday before and never had to complain. The plus points were the staff was helpful (except one person on reception . I won't name names) and the rooms were clean. The weather was fantastic. the Hotel made a big effort for the Christmas meal but I I don't think the Hotel Lancelot deserves its 4 star Trip Advisor rating . I have been to 4 star hotels before ( Hipotel in Majorca ( fabulous) and the Barcelo Santiago in Tenerife ( Fabulous). The Hotel Lancelot has a lot to do to even catch up.

We had a lovely week staying here. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is generally light and airy with ample space to sit and relax. It is very well located there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. We booked a sea view room and definitely worth the little extra. The room itself was spacious, exceptionally clean, bright and very comfortable beds. The bathroom is nice with a large walk in shower. The room has a safe which is free to use along with a fridge with enough room for a few beers and a bottle of wine, there wasn't a kettle, but we asked at reception and they were happy to supply one, I believe there is a free vending machine in the reception area for tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The swimming pool is not enormous, but enough for a cool dip, there are a few sunbeds and you can borrow towels for a 10€ deposit. We only had breakfast which was all good, There is a good selection of bread, rolls and pastries, Jam, honey and chocolate spread, a few cereals, fruit juice, tea and coffee a good selection of milk variations, oat almond etc. Cold meats, cheese and salad. Hot cooked breakfast, which changed each day, most days bacon and sausages. varying days fried eggs, scrammbled eggs, beans, hash browns, cordon bleu, Spanish omelette, churrios and a couple of things I'm not sure what they were but tasted nice! There is also a gluten free stand and a fresh fruit stand with yogurt and had pancakes most days. This Hotel is only a 3*, but is equal to many 4* Hotels in Spain, the only difference is not so many toiletries. We will definitely return here!

Arrived to a warm welcome from the reception .. room very clean and a nice quiet place with sea view .. but unfortunately that’s where it ended.. I wanted to sleep with the balcony open but was awoken by a noisy teenage group … the breakfast needed a live cooking station but the worst was the noise from workers outside replacing paving .. I left early and wasted money on a sea view … the city view would have been quieter

A very beautiful and clean place with kind staff. The rooms are spacious, and the hotel offers a pool and gym. The breakfast is amazing, with options for people with special diets available, and it's included in the price. It's a delightful inclusion in the overall package.

The hotel was clean and tidy and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We were pleased with all but the food. We had paid for full board but ended up eating out after 2 days as we eat vegetarian food only and this was not available even after asking for it. The staff seemed clueless about special dietary requirements. Excellent proximity to the beach and local bars and restaurants and a stunning view from our balcony. Most staff were very pleasant and trying to be helpful.
