Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ainoana miinuksena ilmastoinnin puute huoneessa. Convinient summerhotel near harbour. Marketplace and castle just few minutes away. Nice and clean rooms and exellent breakfast, smoked herrings ++. Helpful and smiley staff. Only minus is lack of air cond in room.

Normally S-hotels are ok but this was a terrible experience. Worn out badly and very hot. I can see from reviews that people has been complaining about temperature for a decade but NOTHING has been done. Not a good value for money. Location is great and some of the staff were quite professional.

The guy working at The check in had a Hood customer service attitude. He told were to park in a free Palace. The breakfast was good, not many people so it felt kind of clean. IT Was a bit warm. This IS Good hotel on May and late August. Maybe early june. Other Times too warm. There IS a kind of Berlin like hostel feeling that I liked. The fridge is also useful If you have kids etc.

Excellent location in downtown Savonlinna and by the lake Saimaa. Modest and reasonably priced hotel. Breakfast included to the room price. Rooms are clean but bit outdated. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking garage located on the opposite side of the hotel.

Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good, but there were not good bread and other stuff to gluten-free people. Room was dirty and old style. As it has been hot summer in Finland, room were very hot as there is no air conditioning. We had to keep windows open and all local young people voice and local traffic noice game to our room. So, it wasn’t good to sleep at all. Location is perfect as it’s located in the city area. We didn’t get value for money.

All were good, the room was as usual, clean but unsurprising Sokos level. The breakfast was average. Minus for the few parking places in the front of the hotel, we came with motorbikes but couldn't find a place for them. Had to leave them far and walk to the hotel with all the stuff..

Rooms are too warm to sleep, no air conditioning which is of course also mentioned at hotel pages. This is annoying but was know when room was booked and does not impact to grade. Rooms are worned and need so repair, e.g. fridge is dirty.. Breakfast is good but many times something was running out, for example bacon was out, bread (karjalanpiirakka) was out.. Waitresses were so young teenagers which could not manage the service. One of the biggest flaws was that breakfast was very crowded and distances due to Corona could not be met. All this caused 2 stars, hotel needs improvement in many areas.

Room Tip: Book the other Sokos hotel instead, Vaakuna, if you want to have good stay.

Stayed for one night in July when daytime temperature was close to 30 degrees Celsius. The room was stifling hot as there is no air con (which we knew), and it was difficult to sleep with windows open as there was heavy traffic outside almost all night. The beds were uncomfortable and pillows lumpy. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast ok. The room itself was pretty tired though spacious, and the bathroom newly renovated. Overall, an ok hotel for the price, but avoid staying in hot weather.

Nic hotel right in the middle of Savonlinna centrum. Top floor room had a nice view to the backyard with sunset. Breakfast had so many options to choose. Possibility to park your at a nearby parking hall. Beware that it is seems to be quite old parking lot because there isn't much that much space for modern cars. Remember to ask permission to park there from the reception. Rooms don't have air conditioring.

Summer hotel with limited services. Friendly and good service. The condition of the rooms is by no means very good, need updating. Good breakfast, but the breakfast room should be bigger (too few seats, you should go early to get a seat). Good location right next to the harbor. The room had an electric kettle and a refrigerator. Parking for an extra charge.
