We have stayed in the Hotel Lamee for a long weekend break. Great room, charming staff at breakfast. Good choice of food for breakfast. The hotel is perfectly located to visit the main sites and shops.

This was my second stay in 2 years and I booked it again based on my first stay with their amazing service, rooftop, views, location and loved my suite! I’m coming back this year and want to stay even longer! Can’t rave enough about this hotel to all of my friends and they know it!

Fabulous view of St Stephen’s Cathedral from our side window and an even more amazing view from the rooftop bar. The suite was a disappointment as it had unusable dark spaces, the bathroom was fabulous large separate shower, the bedroom was spacious but the seating/ wardrobe area was dark a torch was needed to see the coffee machine and in the wardrobe. The staff were fabulous at reception and the rooftop bar is not to be missed. Request a room 5th floor or higher, corner room for the view.

Lovely room with plenty of space, friendly and helpful staff (who spoke excellent english) who recommended places to go and good local restaurants. The rooftop terrace is worth using for the views, service and excellent gluhwein! Good location for the main attractions in Vienna, and the lounge in the sister hotel across the road a quiet place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine.

I can only describe my recent stay at the Hotel Lamee as a disappointment. The room itself was fine—I particularly appreciated the brown marble and wood inlay. They really do channel a forgotten time in Vienna. My main critique is that the suite was simply not as advertised. The hotel’s website describes “separate living and sleeping areas.” In our case, that meant a sofa that looked directly at the back of a tv, with no table or accompanying chairs. It was essentially an unusable space. The website also promises a “private terrace or panorama window with sensational view.” In our case, it looked directly at another building across the street, with only the tip of the cathedral spire visible above it—less than sensational and a far cry from the advertised pictures. The breakfast also totaled an outrageous €25 per person. We assumed a typical €15 or even €18 but were shocked when the bill arrived. I would ask the management—do you really think a cold breakfast with a few scrambled eggs is worth that price? Finally, the bed linens smelled musty during the entire stay. I did a lot of homework prior to this stay, trying to find a hotel with good design and good views from the room. And, at €350 a night, I think those expectations were reasonable. The design, while unique, is starting to look a little worn, particularly the carpet and bed linens. And as stated above, the view was pretty much nonexistent. I do think that some of the other suites may have better views, but sadly that is not the case with suite 71. If is an outlier, then it should be marketed and priced differently.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a Suite on the 7th floor with a huge terrace. Room was very quite and large with seperate couch, large bath with seperate shower. TV unit only faced bed so could not watch tv from couch. Aircon was OK but we were there in temperatures of 18-20c during the day and if you did not lower the outdoor blinds the room really heated up, with a large expanse of glass I would be reluctant to stay in this room in summer as I think the aircon would struggle. Location was superb close to Stephan’s Dom and to all sites, plenty of restaurants to chose from and breakfast locations. We ate every day at Cafe De LEurope it was cheaper than eating at the hotel which was 25 Euro per person and the food options were large, around 30 Euro for 2 at this cafe. The areas for improvement are , housekeeping didn’t replace used toiletries during our stay, littlethings like not replacing milk in mini bar, not pad next to phone these small things annoy and you feel silly for having to ask for those little things during your stay. If they could work on those small attention to details this would be a 5 star hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We had an extra night in Vienna courtesy of the BA issues and our original hotel was full. The location is great - 5 minutes from the two (allegedly) best schnitzel places, the cathedral, the city centre etc. There is currently road works outside, but despite the location, very quiet inside the rooms. We’d booked for Hotel Topazz but due to an issue at their end, we were moved to their sister hotel across the street, Lamee, and upgraded. Check in was lovely and friendly - as others have noted, there can be quite rare in Vienna. Rooms. To be fair we didn’t book these and some couples would love them - baths in the middle of the room, open bathroom, shower facing the bed, but we like a little more privacy and the dark brown marble not to our taste, and not hugely appropriate for teenage girls sharing. Staff were lovely trying to fix as best they could though. The rooftop bar was amazing...and a little irritating! With only one lift, you sometimes had to wait ages for the lift to appear.

Booked a room for 3 days, for disabled people. First of all, on the way to room we took a very crowded elevator with a persistent and not pleasant smell. The room can be max 3* not 5. I cannot go with my wheelchair near the bed cause you don’t have more than 30 cm between bed and wall. I cannot use my legs so I must refuse the room. Good part is that they gave me a very good room at Hotel Topaz vis a vis. I cannot made some pictures of the room cause I was really traumatized by accommodation. And above all it was a persistent smell of old and dust. So, if you want to book a room I suggest to take hotel Topaz not Lamee (they have the same owner). At the bar at the last floor a disabled person cannot go cause they don’t have elevator till the last floor. You need to go on stairs last floor.

Dear Mikeora, thank you for your recent stay at Hotel Topazz & Lamée, and for sharing your experience on tripadvisor.com. We were most sorry to learn upon your arrival that the room we had prepared for you did not meet your specific requirements. While certainly complying with local laws in terms of accessible rooms, we have learnt over the years that the particular requirements of our guests widely differ. This being said, we kindly invite you and all readers of this review to please double check with us prior to arrival if there are any particular room features needed. We would be more than happy to provide detailed measurements or pictures, to ensure a fully pleasant experience. Gladly, we were able to make our second accessible rooms available for you at our Topazz building just across the street. It was a pleasure to hear that this room made you feel comfortable, and I very much hope that the initial distress you experienced has not influenced the overall enjoyment of your stay. Hoping that we may welcome you again in the future, I remain meanwhile, With kind regards Isabella Wexberg, General Manager

Our 1st visit to the lovely historic city of Vienna. What a pleasure to stay at this lovely hotel. Our room was huge and airy. Bed was comfy and we adored the Molton Brown toiletries. The roof top bar was stunning, and we loved going up there every evening for a nighcap. Staff were all super friendly.

Hotel Lamee at first impresses with its location very close to the center of Old Vienna. Everything were in walking distances, perhaps even to close as my Girlfriend and I are fond of walking. So we had to take detours to prolong some of our trips to restaurants and locations. The hotel consist of two independent buildings. The hotel Topazz and the Hotel Lamee. Personally I missed this information when booking. It is jointly operated and the facilities are available from both hotels, such as the lounge area with complimentary drinks. We stayed in the Hotel Lamee building, which is of a bit older design with very dark interior colours. For any with allergies, it should be noted that these rooms are carpeted. Our vacation this year were only 5 days, and therefore we had decided to go for a room upgrade to a prestige room. This was approximately 185 EUR pr. night, which is good value for the money for the location and the room.
