Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the outside you do wonder what the inside will be like. We found the hotel to be really nice. Our room was a lovely size with a kitchenette. We did complain that our bin hadn't been emptied. They got that sorted out. The breakfast was good. A nice selection. The hotel is very near the underground & a few places to eat.

Best Western Kampen offers a good price:quality solution for weekend travellers. The hotel is located close to the Toyen Railway station and you can also easily reach with Bus FB2 from/to Oslo airport. Breakfast was rich and delicious and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean and spacious. All in all, highly recommended.

Spent 3 nights at BWK during my first trip to Oslo. Hotel is in a good location and ideally situated to public transport. Good size room for 3 ...as looked as described. Breakfast was included which whilst a tad strange, there was plenty of it and a good variety. Coffee did not disappoint. WiFi is indeed free but at best patchy. The downside....the staff. Barely friendly or helpful. Check-in was neither smooth or efficient. Our room wasn't cleaned properly on arrival or during our stay and we were rationed to one tea bag per day!

Stayed as part of a business trip for 3 nights. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms are small but have all the basics you would need. Breakfast although induced, is nothing special.

We did not have high expectations and indeed there was room for improvement (in our room there was a folded table that had been attached to the wall but one screw had come off). However, in the room we got everything we needed. We did not expect it to be an apartment hotel so the fact that there was a small kitchen with a fridge and stove was a nice surprise. We enjoyed the balcony and the view to the street. The best part was the breakfast: abundant and tasty with great croissants, good coffee, cold cuts etc.. You could even make your own waffles. The hotel is not centrally located but it is at a walking distance from the railway station. The reception staff was quite friendly so we were quite happy with our experience.

We stayed in the hotel for two separate one nights since in between we went to Bergen. Thus, following our first night we asked the reception staff whether we could leave the luggage at the hotel since we were going for a short trip to Bergen, and we would return back to the hotel. The reception staff told us that it is not safe and that there is no security at the luggage store. This, non-secure room as we were told, was a locked room which the reception staff opened with a key. We got to see this room since as we returned back from Bergen, it was to early for check-in and we had to use the luggage store. Apart from that room is quite large and hotel is very close to the metro. Nonetheless, will never return to a hotel of LIARS. The management should take note of this and take immedeate action. These act have a negative impact on the reputation of Best Western hotels worldwide.

We stayed a week in this hotel. Our room was big and clean. There was also a kitchen. But what is the meaning of a coocer, if there is neither a pot nor a pan? Most of the cleaning staff can't speak enough english, not to mention norvegian. Reception staff tried to be helpful.

Wasn't too sure about this hotel before I arrived, a bit outside the city center, but was very pleasantly surprised. Stayed here five nights! My room was relatively spacious for Oslo, very comfy and clean, and the bathroom was lovely. The breakfast buffet had a really nice variety of great dishes. There was hot milk for the coffee, too. I didn't eat dinner here but had a glass of wine each evening, and found the house Chardonnay quite nice. The hotel is about 3 minutes from the subway station, just a two-stop ride to the central station in downtown Oslo. There are also a variety of ethnic restaurants by the subway entrance. And it's a short walk to the Munch Museum and botanical gardens.

You cannot complain about the price here! Staff are friendly and room is bigger than other city stays we have had. Beds are so comfortable (very hard, great for my back!), breakfast is great - gluten free bread and granola (with a separate toaster for gf only - well done!), a great spread of cooked and cold foods! Great location just two stops on the metro to the centre. It’s not a luxury hotel but it’s exactly what you need if you’re here to get out and about and see Oslo, at a fair price.
