We cannot understand all these negative reviews here on TripAdvisor. Either the owner has changed or he has learned from the bad reviews. We stayed for 4 nights and it was perfect for the price. The room was very clean and big. Aircon and internet was working very well and the room had also a fridge and a kettle. The maid changed the bedsheets and towels after 2 days. The owner helped us also to print out our ferry and bus tickets. The environment is nice prepared with a lot of greenery. The pool is big enough for a short refreshing, but there were only 2 sunbeds. Next to the Motel there are a scooter rental (very cheap, 25RM for 1 day), a yummy (but expensive) breakfast place as well as a laundry and two good and extremely cheap restaurants. We can highly recommend this place!

In that respect its location is good. Beaches are at walking distance and there is a good food outlet right in front. The reception is not open 24 hours so you will have a problem if you want to check-in at late hours. You don't get daily room service.Rooms are of good size and comfortable and at a quite place. Will recommend the place to anyone on budget. cross the road is fave hotel.

This budget hotel is located at the end of Jalan Pantai Cenang, same end as the Aseania Hotel. This motel is a laundry shop at the front where the reception is. We booked through Agoda, so check in was smooth. What we liked about the place: Near Tomato Nasi Kandar (cheap Indian Muslim restaurant or as we call it in Malaysia 'kedai mamak'). There's also a Malay restaurant that opens on the night. A burger stall open on the night just on the side of the road. It's a quiet place away from the main area of Pantai Cenang. Spacious room and everything functioning well. Growing up in SEA, insects, mosquitoes, ants are inevitable. We bought a repellent from the shop which cost about rm5.50 for a small can. Just spray the bathroom or outside before you go to bed if you're worried about bugs. Wifi works well during our stay. We really liked the place! What we didn't like: Unfortunately, they are having a minor renovation (yes, there's some noise) behind the laundry shop close to the motel area. They work quite slow, so who knows when they will finish or how much more they need to do. If it weren't for that, we would have stayed longer. Don't worry they don't start until 9 or 10 am. And they don't work til late. If you're up early, it won't bother you and if you're back around dinner time. They've stopped. But if you're having a day of rest in the room, you might hear them working. Other than that, there's nothing else we didn't like about the place. We were happy for what we paid for.

The hotel photos, which are advertised, are from the years ago. Terrible rooms with dirt all over. Insects in the holes in the walls. The worst hotel I ever seen, cockroaches all over the place and totally anti-sanitary condition.

...good location (15 mins walk from Cenang beach)... but that's about it. We stayed in one of the cabins which was quite quaint and well serviced with TV, air-con and fan. All mod cons and no bed bugs contrary to other reviews. However the bathroom resembled a dungeon and we managed to collect a frog, 2 x cockroaches and a worm in the space of three nights. Quite a haul! Staff unhelpful and seemed affronted when we dared to request a second toilet roll on our third night... We're relatively new to travelling in this part of the world so don't have much to compare with but expected better.

Desa Motel is a small family run lodging with a large laundry business operating separately. The laundry office is where you book in. 10 units with a small neat garden and common area that divides the accommodation units. At night, the outside is well lit to go back to your room. We stayed at the delux villa which had a small seating area out front. Inside was a fan cooled sitting room with 2 chairs before the bedroom which had a king size bed and aircon. The tv is in here which has 3 local channels. The back room had a small fridge, coffee making and a bathroom. Directly opposite are two eateries,Tomato which offers cheap Indian style meals and Selyra which is a popular local eatery well worth visiting. This motel is not on the beach so a 750 m walk is required to Tengeh Beach which is next along from Cennang Beach. If there is any swell on the beach then I recommend Tengeh Beach, as far to the east as possible to get the calmest water. I have read a few Agoda reviews and wonder if the complaints of bed bugs may be the case of leaving doors open and lights on in the tropics with the result being obvious. We have been staying in similar quality Asian rooms for years and are yet to have any infestation to talk of so maybe we are lucky or there may be some misinformation getting around? The rooms are not cleaned so often but with tiled floors and a broom provided we did not have problem. We stayed 8 days and were happy with the place.

In Langkawi, there are plenty of accommodation options. I will suggest places close to beach rather than in Kuah town. (After all, you are here for the beach). In that respect its location is good. Beaches are at walking distance and there is a good food outlet right in front. If you can have your car, parking is no problem. The reception is not open 24 hours so you will have a problem if you want to check-in at late hours. It is green with plenty of plant & trees in the place so you would encounter a few bugs during the stay. You don't get daily room service. Rooms are of good size and comfortable and at a quite place. Will recommend the place to anyone on budget.

We stayed for 5 nights and it was ojay but not more. Rooms too big without windows, had no electricity for a whole day and also wifi did not work for 3 days. Bed sheet had some holes, was clean but ridiculously thin. The bathroomfloor was always wet after showering and the sand stayed at the floor. There is s laundry service in the motel and nearby a good foodcourt and some supermarkets, even a scooterrental. Beach within walking distance but quite far away - for the price you cannot expect much but in some qays they could give more effort to the whole arrangement. 5/10 with one eye closed
