Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Superb site. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We had lovely weather, fortunate as most of the summer had been raining. We got into trouble with our awning on one night with an unexpected storm. The staff helped take it down so it wouldn't get damaged. Thanks so much to Alan for being so amazing & helping us out. Practicality: The site was very clean, well maintained with level spaced pitches, with own tap, electricity & wastewater drain. The best toilet block EVER, probably in whole of NI & Ireland. It had it's own beautiful beach & playground. Site was quiet, people friendly, everyone kept to the 11pm curfew. Would definitely recommend and return. Good base for those from the South to explore the North. Great for walking & watersports, oh and Game of Thrones enthusiasts. The only qualm & it is very small and silly, is you have to pay for Internet €15 per device per week. So if you have teenagers warn them in advance! Thanks for a great holiday guys.

A fabulous spot that we found on our travels in our camper van. The facilities were spotless and very comfortable and the beach and swimming were excellent. The children loved the playground and overall, we had a fabulous welcome from Rachel and Wayne. Thank you

What a lovely site. Really tidy and well maintained with lovely, helpful staff on reception. The toilets are the best I've ever seen - better than a spa and have a great little family room with a tiny bath which our 6 month old loved. The beach is gorgeous and right on the site, there's a fantastic park for kids and a football field. The only small gripes were the football field was where the tents were and my sister had to ask kids to stop playing football every night after 10pm - they weren't causing any trouble, just noisy so her 4 year old couldn't sleep. And the pitch had a concrete area for the awning which meant my porch awning couldn't be pegged down completely and I had some trouble in the high winds having to take it down in the middle of the night, twice! In hindsight I would've turned the caravan round but then think I'd have had a soggy pitch so not sure how to get round that one. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It is a lovely site with the best toilet facilities on a campsite I've experienced! The park and beach are brilliant for everyone. The atmosphere is good too, everyone was very friendly and liked a chat. However we were staying in a tent and there's a football pitch on it too and every evening until at least 10pm there were around 20/30 kids playing and shouting ect. Which made it very difficult to get my young child asleep so just be aware if you're camping with young children that they won't be getting to sleep until late. Also with this awful wet summer we are having, be aware that the entrance to the tent pitches was very muddy and slippery. They were trying to combat this with putting grey stuff down but fighting a losing battle.

Our 1st time visiting and we were blown away by it. Rachel and Wayne are friendly very welcoming they have the grounds and the facilities to the highest of standards...very modern and immaculate and very well kept at all times.. everywhere you look you are looking at beauty...it's spacious private and extremely safe for kids...it has a wonderful enclosed play park, games room and loads of open space for kids but all within private barriers I really can't believe how safe I found it...they ran day activities for the kids when we were there....and I love how the enforce the no noise after 11pm and everyone sticks by it... The private beach is approx 300 steps from the pitch and is fantastic on those sunny days...it's now a firm favourite of mine and the family and will be a regular summer holiday destination... 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We spent 3 nights over the May bank holiday weekend 2022 at Sandilands. We pitched in the grass with a Motorhome (2 adults and 2 kids) and our friends had their caravan (2 adults 2 kids). We were pitched next to each other. The pitch sizes are generous. The overall site is maintained to a very high level with grass areas, fencing, roadways very well presented. This is one of the best kept camp sites on the island of Ireland. The site has direct access to the beach, which is perfect for a dip or a walk. The toilet and shower facilities are modern, warm, and immaculately kept. The wash up facilities are again super modern, clean and warm. I assume the large number of Solar panels on the roof of the main building provide the facility hearing and hot water. It’s the only campsite I’ve been too where the wash up facilities room is warm and super modern. The staff are very hard working. They are always about cleaning, mopping etc. They are very friendly, courteous and chatty with campers. Check in and check out very straight forward. The surrounding area is great for a walk e.g beach and also Lane on the left just outside the gate of the campsite, brings you along backroads towards Cranfield beach) This is a perfect long weekend stay. I highly recommend it. Kevin

I have done several Caravan/Motorhome sites 5 star reviews before, and if they were 5 star this needs to be a 6 star! This site along the beach is beautifully laid out and maintained. The facilities have far exceeded any of the many sites we have visited in NI, ROI and Scotland. The spacing between us in the “touring “ section was generous and the hook up with electricity and water easy. With a hard stand allocated to each pitch and being level this place did all it could to make the experience good. The toilets and showers were accessed by an electronic fob and were Hotel standard with piped music and radio all day long. There was a club house with pool tables and other games and great facilities for dishwashing, laundry and waste disposal. The motor home service spot was excellent apart from very tight turn to exit it that required a 3 or even 5 point turn. And there was a portable coffee shop onsite daily and ice cream van that visited too. To top it off the welcome we received from Rachel and Wayne, the delightful couple who manage the site, was warm and genuine. We really felt like honoured guests. Thanks for a great experience. Hope to be back soon.

First time to Sandilands Caravan Park, Kilkeel, Northern Ireland in the touring caravan. This a mix of static and tourers. The site is immaculate! Lovely layout with a fully serviced post for the caravan (water, electricity, waste). Patch of concrete to set the awning up. The facilities are as nice as a hotel. They are brand new, incrediblely clean and that is the sluice aswell. This site has won multiple awards, it's easy to see why. A quiet, family friendly site with an excellent play park and access to the beach. 5* all the way!
