The hotel was lovely. The room was very spacious and clean with a nice trendy vibe! The food was nice. We had heard the service was not the best in the hotel and this in fact was correct. The bar men in Toms bar were very unpleasant and had very bad customer service for bar staff, probably the worse we’ve ever seen!! & we waited 40 mins for our coffee at breakfast. Overall nice hotel but staff could do with a gear up…

Amazing stay in an amazing place with amazing staff. Looked after wonderfully by kind, attentive and interested staff. Our 9 year old daughter has coeliac disease and all the staff and kitchen were kind and considerate and provided reassurance to her at all times. First GF full Irish for breakfast!

Wonderful staff, the most beautiful setting, so much thought put into every single space, room, decor, finishing touches, gym, restaurant. The perfect place for a reset in nature with all the comfort you could possibly want. I brought my mom here after a hard few months and we left smiling

My husband and I got to go here for one night on the 7th of March. I am very big on research and heard and read alot of mixed reviews about Glasson Lakehouse so was a bit cautious as what to expect. It was mid week and we booked the dine and stay package which included bed, breakfast and a two course dinner in Bonnies Restuarant. We also book a spa package which included two course lunch in Bonnies, a full body massage each and a glass of Champagne. We also booked the hot tub for our stay and we arranged for prosecco and chocolates in the room for arrival. We arrived at one o clock and our room was almost ready, we went for our lunch which was included in the Spa package while we waited. The menu was limited to two salads or a charcuterie board. We ordered two charcuterie boards and two cocktails. They were so nice. Loads of food, the presentation was lovely, we then got a cheese board and a chocolate orange crunchie, both were lovely again really well presented and staff were very attentive. We then went and checked into our room. Room 38. It was lovely. The decor was lovely, prosecco was waiting on ice with chocolate s. We made our way to Brooks Spa and had our couples massage followed by a gls of prosecco in the relaxation room. It was lovely, staff were really friendly and massages were really nice. Afterwards we went to the hot tub, again was lovely there was a member of staff there to take drinks orders if needed. We stayed in the hot tub for a hr, it was so relaxing. We then went to the heated pool, it was a dash to it as it was cold but lovely once in the water. Very cool and the views are amazing. We had a drink in Tom's bar before dinner and for dinner we had pork cheeks for starters and steak for main . Both were really tasty and the steak was cooked perfect, we asked for medium rare and it was spot on. The following morning for breakfast it is table service and you could order as many options as you wanted!! We got the full irish and the Avacado on toast with bacon and asked for two poached eggs with it. We also got two flat whites. . I had great intentions of ordering pancakes Afterwards but was so stuffed I couldn't! We went for a lovely stroll down to the lake and admired the views followed by reading the complementary newspaper s in front of the fire in the lobby with coffee before checking out. I have to say this stay exceeded my expectations. We found the staff friendly, helpful and attentive, the food to be of great taste and well presented, the decor of the hotel to be pleasing and of a good standard and the hotel Spa, hottubs and grounds were well kept . . . We asked the receptionist if we could look at the family room and the suite as we were so impressed we were considering on bringing the children for a night away. The family room looks amazing, loads of room for a family of 5 and we also asked to look at the suite because I would consider staying here for my 40th next Yr instead of going abroad again it looked amazing. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We went for a two night stay on Christmas Eve as a family of 4 with another family of 3 and had the best time. Our only regret was that we did not book for longer. The staff were unreal and the atmosphere was fantastic. We had young children with us and despite Santa only delivering one present to the hotel and the rest to their home address they loved the whole experience.

I recently booked a night here with the girls, 2 course lunch/spa package, followed by 3 course dinner. To mark some big birthdays, we'd all been on little getaways over last year but Glasson surprised me, everywhere you go, you are surrounded by breath taking scenery. I particularly loved how the the outdoor elements come streaming through, you just instantly felt relaxed. It was nice to see lots of other events going on, also a wedding tucked away you'd barely notice, everyone seemed so super chilled and to be enjoying themselves. Food and service were top notch, nice little nooks in pub and live entertainment if you wanted to keep the party going. Cosy decorated room with a view. I will be back with the little one's next time to do the boat ride, more walks and swimming. They'll love the playground, bunkbeds, a lovely getaway for any occasion. Update: I just read a review below where their stay wasn't as ideal, perhaps hotel have recently took this on board. Also, I did shop around and was able to get all for a much lower rate, very reasonable compared to other hotel packages, we really had a great time!

My wife and I had been really looking forward to a night away here as we’ve had friends that had stayed. We have a small child at home, my wife is expecting again, and this was our first night away without the little fella. The rooms here are amazing since it’s been done up. Much like the rest of the hotel and the grounds. Really love the decor and the place is spotlessly clean. Very trendy and cool! The food is also top notch, albeit slightly pricey. We opted for the bar food instead as we didn’t fancy a big meal. We both highly recommend the chicken wings! :) Overall though the customer service seems to be a small bit lacking given the cost of a room per night. Before I say more I must say the staff were really very friendly and nice, but maybe there were not enough staff on at times given the number of guests. It took quite some time to get a food or drink order. About an hour before we’d even arrived, we received a call to say there was an issue with the hot water. It also transpired the hot tubs were out of order, probably for the same reason. Other than a “oh sorry about that” at check in there was no real effort to make it up to us in some way. We were looking forward to renting a hot tub and chilling out (or at the least a warm shower after being in the outdoor pool) We also had some rowdy neighbours woke us with loud music and singing at 3:30 and 5:30 AM. Reception would not answer so it took a visit in person to go and ask if they wouldn’t mind helping. The room was two doors down from the receptionist and you could clearly hear from there how loud the noise was. This is not something that would normally bother either of us, but our room was vibrating with the noise and we waited about an hour before even calling reception. So I’m not really sure if the hotel seems to know what their customer base is. It markets itself as a premium 4-star hotel that seems to want to cater to everything from weddings, spa breaks, hen nights, golf groups, romantic getaways, relaxation breaks and families with kids all in one, which I’m not sure really works for it. Between the nights stay and our food & drink bill at the bar we spent the bones of €500 for a one night stay. And in the end we came away not really feeling very relaxed, wrecked tired, pockets a lot lighter and a bit underwhelmed by the experience. We’ve definitely had more relaxing weekend breaks at similar 3 or 4 star hotels at a lower cost point.
