If you like cool, contemporary boutique hotels in the city this is place to stay! Baltazár is tucked away in the Castle District which is in the most beautiful and historic region of this amazing city. Downtown Budapest is an energetic walk or short bus ride away, but this is by far the most beautiful pocket within the city centre. The rooms are simply stunning. All are individually and creatively designed with a luxurious funky twist. Think Budapest meets Shoreditch! The bar and the restaurant are cool and contemporary, showcasing local foods, beers and a great list of affordable Hungarian Wine. Who would think Hungary made such incredible wine! The icing on the cake was Laszlo, our host. He was very warm, hugely knowledgeable and made a terrific effort to ensure our short stay in the city was maximised. Baltazár Hotel are lucky to have him and we were lucky to find Baltazár Hotel! Believe me, this is is the place to stay!

Enjoyed our stay, didn’t sample restaurant other than for the included Frenchy Breakfast Bundle so can’t comment. Could have included more coffee pods in the room, not even enough for one drink per day each during our stay, never been asked to pay for extra pods anywhere before. That said it’s just a small thing but would have made a big difference to us, overall an enjoyable stay.

I can only recommend this hotel! The location was perfect - the hotel is located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood just 5 minutes walk from the Fishermen's Bastion, from where you have a great view of the Parlement. It takes about 20min to the city center by public transport. There are also very good restaurants in the area. The receptionist at the hotel was very kind and helpful. We all felt very comfortable. The room was very lovely and spacious, comfortably furnished and equipped with everything you need. The breakfast consisted of two croissants, two kinds of jam, juice, a hot drink (coffee or tea) and water and was very satisfying for all of us. I will certainly stay at this hotel on my next visit to Budapest!

I decided for my 2nd trip of 3 to Budapest for my dental implant work to stay at this recommended hotel. I was not disappointed at all.
The room and the amenities were amazing - in my suite which is pictured in their web site, I had my own living room and 2nd TV.
Breakfast was French continental and info was staying longer I would have ordered differently.
My only slight gripe would be the restaurant was not open and hence the bar - in my situation this was not a major concern but would have been nice for socialising in the evening.
The staff there are lovely and even provided me with a loan of travel adapters as I forgot to bring again!
Thank you for a very pleasant stay in a gorgeous suite. I could not have asked for more -
I took a video of my room and made a lot of people very jealous.

Really nice boutique hotel situated in the Buda Castle area, so quiet but with lovely surroundings and interesting places nearby. Much nicer than an anonymous big hotel in Pest. Very easy to get to Pest on the 16 bus that runs every ten minutes, more frequent at peak times.

Last week we had five nights in the family loft at Baltazar. Baltazar is a beautiful boutique hotel and our room was stunning. All of the staff are kind and helpful, and we think Baltazar is the best place to stay in Budapest. I particularly love the location as it is very nice to walk around the streets of the Castle District at night and also enjoy the lovely restaurants near Baltazar.

Located in a quiet area, it has many parking options nearby. We loved the attention to details when we entered the room, the little notepad on the bedside table was nice. Also very thoughtful with the complementary water and the personal care kit (L'occitane). The wine glasses came in handy when we returned with a bottle of wine from the hotel's restaurant (if we had requested a second bottle to the room, it would've been 20% off, nice offer!). The only thing that could've been better was the TV that didn't work, if Netflix was provided it would've been a 10+ hotel for us. Instead, it's a 10!

Our 3rd stay here with the family - good value for a unique stay in the Castle district. We have also bought our dog with us, she was welcomed with a dog bed and bowls already in the room. Rooms are well appointed, air conditioned and each have their unique styles. The best room is the family suite with separate bedrooms, but this last stay we had it was booked - we got 2 connected rooms - which works just as well.

This was a lovely place to stay in a good location. The room was really nice and clean but the hotel restaurant is only open for a “French “ breakfast of croissants. It is not open at night. If you stay here and want a drink when you get home, buy it in town before you go back because there’s no wine or beer in the mini bar and there are not any shops very close to buy any. It is essentially a very nice bed and breakfast.

What we liked most in this hotel is a staff on hotel reception. Always welcoming you and trying to help each day. And because hotel is very small, they know all the guests.

Cleaning was very good, it doesn’t matter which time you are leaving your room, when you will be back, the room is cleaned. For us it looks like they waiting till you left the room and then immediately start cleaning it.

What can be better is water pressure in the shower. And if you use shower for some time pressure is even lower.

Also level of service during breakfast is not very consistent. Some staff is very good and professional, some not very interested in you and you can wait for a long time to order more.
