The hotel is a bit old and we can see the rooms had a life but it was clean. I had a big room with tatamis. The public bath is really nice. The wifi is really fast! It's very well located, close to the main streets, the train and the restaurants.

Stayed in the Sakika Youth Hostel Takamatsu, which is about a block away and run by the same people who are in charge of the New Grande Mimatsu -- YH guests are allowed to walk over to the Mimatsu to use their public baths. On a Saturday night, fairly intoxicated patrons from the Izakaya co-located with the hotel were spilling out onto the street, and the hotel lobby itself was so packed with men standing around and talking that it was almost impossible to get through to elevator. On the second floor where the gender-separated baths are located, smoking is allowed in the hallway outside the baths, so the area smells strongly of smoke. Judging from the number of shoes outside the mens' and womens' bath, it looks like most of the hotel's clientele are male. The location is good (as is the nearby YH) -- just a block from the Katamachi Station on the Kotoden line and about a 15-20 minute walk from Takamatsu Station through the covered shopping arcades.…
