Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This hotel seems to provide lunches to tour companies on the 2 day St Petersburg tour. The room is reasonably large but today it was full. there seems to have been multiple tours in today. Food was of good quality and the service was good. Enjoyable

Good food and good service. had the beetroot soup which was nice and the chicken kiev which packed in lots of flavour. The ambiance was good too. We received a lovely chilled glass of wine with our meal as we booked an excursion with a cruise ship and this was one of our stops. Really enjoyed it and looks like it is popular too

Arthur Boutique hotel is not centrally located, you have to take cabs everywhere! The hotel rooms are much smaller than what it shows on the photos. We got a room which had a tiny prison looking windows with rusted metal bars, very depressing View! We complained about the room and they kept going back-and-forth between one room and the other and gave us a choice of a room that overlooked a roof And again with metal bars covering the windows. Bathroom does not fit more than one person at a time. Presumably Credit card terminal didn’t work the entire four days we were there and they wanted to collect cash which is very sketchy. We will not be coming back. I am not sure how they are a 5 star hotel. I would give them 3 stars and based on my overall experience 2 out of 5.

Stayed at this hotel over Christmas and it was absolutely worth it. The reception staff were as enthusiastic as they come, very welcoming and eager to tell us about this great city, they told us how they would also like to visit London and tried very hard to ensure that we made the most of our stay. Elena and her colleague at breakfast were always warm and professional, nothing was too much trouble and they made sure that the champagne & caviar breakfast lived up to its name. The room was nice and cosy, we had a delightful stay and really want to come back. Thanks for an amazing stay, we are the two guys from London who stayed 23rd - 27th December, we'll definitely come back for sure!

This is a small hotel furnished in the old imperial style. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and looked after us very well. The restaurant is very good and not overly priced. We upgraded to the 3rd floor which had bigger rooms and were not charged for the privilege. The breakfast was really good with tons of choice, including local champagne!

Wonderful hotel! Very nice atmosphere of friendliness. Very quiet and clean rooms. Breakfast was my favorite - a lot of choices of Russian breakfast dishes including crepes, caviar, fruits, coffee and tea. I highly recommend this hotel to visitors of this beautiful city!

My family & I stayed here two nights . To call it 5star is am insult to even 3 star hotels anywhere. More like a 3 star property but with 1 star service & zero attention towards guests. Staff almost rude, indifferent & disinterested. Breakfast buffet is not refilled...once an item is finished it is finished for the day! They charged us registration charges although the booking confirmation clearly states that everything is paid for. The air conditioning worked intermittently & we could not sleep well at all on both nights of our stay. One staff even told us that this is how air conditioning is supposed to work ! Their local knowledge on sightseeing also could not be relied upon! Teacups & coffee mugs placed in room but no kettle or tea/coffee making facilities. One staff informed that we could order it anytime & the same will be delivered to the room complimentary. Our joy was short-lived as the next day we were told by another staff that it will be charged to room! Some of the plaudits online & review score might be for the previous management !

Calls itself a 5 star but in reality it deserves nothing more than 2. The reception staff is not helpful at all and have no information on the city. On one instance we asked them about the St Petersburg card, which allows you free access to bus and boat tours along with access to museums amd galleries, but the reception staff said that it was a scam and we should not buy it. Turns out it wasnt. It was our best decision in St Petersburg. The AC in the room was not functioning properly and we asked the staff 4 times to fix it but they didnt. To the extent they knew that we werent happy and they did not even offer another room. The staff just wasnt interested in catering to their guests. No tea/coffee in the room so reception said to us that this is complimentary 24/7. When we actually requested for it the next day they said otherwise!! On the welcome letter in the room it said that the hotel would be delighted to make any reservations at restaurants for their guests but when we asked them they actually asked us to do it until another lady at reception saved the day by making the reservation for us. Even when we asked about the St Petersburg card we requested for the reception to speak to the operator to find out where we can buy it, as our russian was no good, and he refused to call and asked us to do it instead. Never staying here again. The radisson royal, corinthia and nevsky forum is just round the corner and much better so please dont make a mistake by staying at Author nothing boutique Hotel

Well its definetly not a 5 star . The service was not good ! The people working there are not trained up to 5 star standards . No hello nothing . On 15th Morning when we came for breakfast the guy who was stationed there and the girl were making fun of my parents who entered the breakfast hall. He was bald guy. I am not sure why...... I did ask him what was so funny , he said my dad ordered tea in the morning thats what he was telling the girl , then why were you giglling so much ? I was observing them as soon as we entered the guy was making fun of my parents. NOT 5 STAR at all ! Pathetic ! The lift is so small and narrow ! there are no steps , the room stay was so not good . There was this another guy in the restaurant wearing white shirt with gold buttons has long hair combed to the side- sharp nose i guess - its not the guy who wears a jacket (he was nice ) this white shirt guy - ordered a pot of tea asked for 2 cups , then my mom changed her mind and she said she will also have tea , so asked for another cup that guy started arguing with me , that i asked for only 2 cups , totally not professional , cheap man ! with great reluctance and murmuring he gave another empty cup . Totaly NOT 5 Star !
