Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a nice hotel situated outside the town. Has a nice feel to it with good facilities. The tour to both sides the falls is easy from here. Food was good although service could be a little slow at times when busy. If the hotel reads reviews a couple of tips for breakfast. Firstly one toaster doing two slices is not enough and always had to wait. Secondly can you provide bigger plates, barely one piece of toast fitted on it. Lovely rooms we were on the first floor facing the pool. Very quiet.

Lovely if slightly remote location. Rooms are spacious and well equipped and the food and wine excellent and at a reasonable price. As the hotel is a taxi ride away from the town ( and after a long day at the wonderful Iguazu Falls you don’t always want to venture out) , the reason we only give it 4 stars is because the dining area and number of staff are simply not adequate. It’s a real shame as otherwise we would not hesitate to stay there again

Nice modern hotel built right in the rain forest. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast selection was good. Service was friendly and tried their best to assist when required. Have to travel 10 minutes to restaurants in town as there is only one restaurant on site.

This is a wonderful hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were excellent, very well appointed and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. We also ate in the restaurant for dinner - we found the menu to be extensive for both food and wine. Would highly recommend this hotel for a trip to Iguazu Falls and the surrounding area.

Modern, well groomed, spacious hotel in a beautifully landscaped - almost jungle like setting - close to the national park it's a taxi ride into town. . Our room was spacious, thoughtfully furnished, quiet and clean. The pool was also a nice place to cool down after a long hot day. Breakfast is very goog and big variety. We had here also one dinner ant it was a very disappointing experience because of slow, very slow service. Food was good typical hotel style, not gourmet. Very slow service also in the bar. The staff at reception was quite unexperienced. The hotel needs to improve quality of service.

This was an amazing hotel. Situation in the middle,of the forrest, so a bit off the beaten track - but a great location for getting to the waterfalls. The design of the hotel is so sympathetic to the surrounding area. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with a great walk-in shower and a lovely balcony. The pool was the star of the show. Amazing location, large and spacious with a great bar alongside. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and food was always excellent. I would so love to return.

The room was fine and quite large, and the loungers by the pool are really comfortable, but the hotel is let down by poor service and lack of interest from management and staff. Check in worked, but they told us nothing – not breakfast, meal or checkout times. No information on the hotel. No offer of help with our bags. We asked about the walks in the forest which were the main reason we booked this hotel. They told us they had sacked the guy who ran the walks as he did not accurately start on time. We asked about going for a walk on our own and were told it wasn’t safe. Not sure if that is true, but that is what they said. So the hotel advertises it is in the middle of the nature reserve, but you cannot see any of it. Stupid! The room was reasonably big and was comfortable and quiet. Shower is hopeless. The hand held one is so high my wife could hardly reach it and if left on its hook it sprays right over your head at the opposite wall. The ‘deluge’ top shower is more of a dribble. How can designers get this so wrong. The service was very variable. Sometimes it was good, but at other times staff did not seem interested and service was very slow. Does it really take 20 minutes to plate up two cakes when there are only 6 people in the dining room at lunch? Dinner – They completely forgot my wife’s meal and we had to order it again when my meal came. I had Porc milenesa (a pork Wiener Schnitzel). It was a huge portion – enough for both of us, but was very dried up, so not nice. Breakfast has rather a limited choice. No rolls. Just white or brown bread. Croissants undercooked inside. Cereals and fruit OK. They had oats, but no dried fruit or nut to make muesli. Hot was only scrambled egg, scrambled egg with ham, or sausages, so less choice than the Novotel in Buenos Aires. We thought Mercure were supposed to be more up-market. First day there was Tabasco sauce. Second day none. I asked the staff. Just got a shrug of the shoulders. Waitress gave the impression she could not be bothered to check. Also a really friendly notice saying if you take anything from the breakfast buffet to eat later YOU WILL BE CHARGED. Super nice and great for guest relations – NOT! There is no free drinking water in the room. This is one of the worst reviews I have given for an hotel, but Mercure Iguazu Iru is not a cheap hotel and its guests deserve much better.

Best bathroom we had while in South America with a hairdryer that actually works! Also a magnifying mirror for us seniors with poor eyesight! Comfy beds; 3 star food, breakfast ok, great service at the bar. Would have stayed an extra night in retrospect to enjoy the pool and have one lazy day away from touring. loved the location.

This was the first hotel from our trip to Argentina. What an amazing first impression. Beautiful building ñ, modern and clean rooms, amazing common areas and delicious restaurant. Everything was top notch. Highly recommend it!! The only thing they could add, is a store. Other than that, it has everything you need!!

One of the worst front desk staff specially men’s . As you don’t book directly with them they treat you badly which I noticed during check in . I travel all over Argentina and this is the worst customer service I have received. It spoiled my stay in Puerto Iguazu . Stay away from this Hotel. I even not give one ⭐️
