Worth to visit. Gasoline for your boat. Quite Nice restaurant aside even though a bit pricy, but on the other hand no other options. A small grocerystore included with basic stuff. The personnel are friendly.

Camped here the night before and the night after staying on the main island in Linnansaari. They have ferries three times a day to the main island. Tent fee includes use of the shared bathroom/shower facilities and a sauna at specific times of day (didn't get to use) Overall a good place to crash overnight in a tent though perhaps a little pricey? 20 euros?!

My wife & I visited Saimaa in February and were blown away by both the beautiful landscape & warm, friendly people. Neither of us had any previous experience cross country skiing or Nordic tour skating, but had a great time learning both in the peaceful surroundings of Linnansaari Park. The team at SaimaaHoliday Oravi kitted us out & provided excellent instruction to get us on our way. We were well taken care of at the end of each day on the ice as well, with delicious drinks & dinner at the local park restaurant (a 2 minute walk from the hotel apartments). All the food was fresh, local cuisine & everything was absolutely delicious. Private access to the on-site sauna in the evening was an extra treat as well. The best part of the experience was definitely the Saimaa Holidays team though. Marie & team went out of their way to make us feel warm & welcome every step of the way, and we quickly felt incredibly relaxed & at home. We were both very sad to leave after our 5-day weekend stay, and can't wait for a return trip. Thanks Marie & all!

If peace and tranquiliy is your idea of a perfect holiday, a kayak trip with Saimaa holiday is a perfect option. Because it was out if season, they couldn’t offer us a guided trip, but suggested a trip to Linnansaari island instead. The staff went out of their way to create a tailor made holiday for us. They also suggested we book a guide for the first 3 hours to assist us and this definitely ensured that we could find our way through the hundreds of small islands on the lake. We stayed 3 nights in a very basic block hut with no electricity or running water. You chop wood for cooking and for the sauna. And after a sauna session, you cool down by jumping into the lake! We returned home well rested and refreshed. BUT make sure you don’t forget the mosquito repellent at home...

We stayed in a cottage on the lake 4 nights. We were 9. 3 families of friends. Beautiful location. Perfect cottages: new, well kept, secluded, on the lake, with all the amenities: sauna, private boat and barbecue at the dock .... It was exactly what I imagined a Finnish experience to be. We rented kayaks, hiked, went fishing and had beautiful long sunsets on the lake. And the staff: they're adorable bears! Thanks x everything.

We booked a package that included the room, breakfast for two and kayaks/indian canoe rental. We visited in early June, during the off-peak season. The establishment has many diverse businesses: restaurant/cafe, cottages, supermarket, petrol station, hotel/apartments, boat tours, boat taxis, equipment rental. All that an outdoors enthusiast traveller or someone stopping by for a day would need. The staff were all warm and friendly, ready with suggestions and alternatives on what we could do in the area. They were also ready to connect travellers together to pool rides on the boat taxi for shared cost during the off season, a welcome gesture. The room was of great value, and exceeded expectations for the price paid, with your own toilet/shower, a stove, fridge and a drying cabinet (this device was new to us and we were glad to have tried it; wonderful machine). There is a shared sauna on the premises (included with room), which you can book with the receptionist to ensure that you have privacy during that time slot, which we did. It was a great way to relax near the end of the day. The guys at the supermarket let us sample some of the fish (which we liked and ended up buying). There was everything you needed meats, veges, olive oil, butter, etc.) to make a decent dinner indoors, which we did, in our room (it had pots and pans, plates and cutlery) :). Or at least one of us did. The other helped to eat it and wash the dishes in the sink in the room (it came with dishwashing detergent too). Breakfast was non-buffet but had more than enough food for the both of us. Our table was laid out before the agreed time and when we arrived, the food was sent to our table. It included porridge (oats), orange juice, meats, cheese slices, tomatoes, cucumbers and yoghurt. They had asked about our dietary restrictions and food allergies the day before and adhered to or requests. Great move! We thought it might be too much of a physical stretch if we were to kayak or row out to the islands (up to 5km away for the main island), hike around and kayak back. The package (or the staff, don't know which) was flexible enough to allow us to offset the price of a two-way boat taxi (which would otherwise have cost EUR 45 one-way), which we appreciated. We only stayed a day, but enjoyed ourselves here. The place had free wi-fi and everything you need in the room or within walking distance to ensure a worry-less, comfortable, and homely stay.

The rooms are comfortable, clean and modern and the surrounding Oravi village is lovely. The place is situated right on the shore of beautiful lake Saimaa. I would definitely go again. The place has also an restaurant that serves good food. They also organize quided tours to the lake and its islands.

Lovely modern room, ensuite bathroom, own kitchen, good quality bed and linen. Free sauna & wifi. The centre with restaurant, bar, equipment hire and supermarket is a short walk away. You can hire rowing boats or canoes to explore the 30,000 islands of Lake Saimaa. In winter there are ice skating routes on the lake. Saimaa Holiday Oravi also has villas for hire and an eco hostel in Linnansaari National Park (where I also stayed). There is a boat service in the summer. I saw beavers and ospreys there.

Just came back home from Oravi cottage where my friends and me had celebrated New Year. We spent 3 nights in cottage #4 and are very delighted. The cottage is very clean and seems quite new. All the kitchenware was available, including coffee machine, teapot, toaster, plates and dishes. Sauna was not in the main house but opposite to it near the terrace. There was not inconvenient. Rooms have very poor insulation. We heard even a whisper from the next room. The fireplace was great! In general the cottage is very cozy and sweet :)

This was my seventh kayaking trip in Finland. Each time, I cant help my self being surprised by the over whelming kindness, politeness and hospitality of Finnish people. This was my first time using Oravi's services, though not the first time traveling in the area. We Rented 2 single kayaks for a week and stayed one night at their local hotel. Once again, I had a pleasant experience right from the very beginning - booking and getting the kayaks was easy. They were very well maintained, everything was at time and the hotel room was cozy and nice. We were paddling in Kolovesi national park. Needless to say Finland's outdoors and lakes are amazingly beautiful, the park is very clean and very well maintained. If you like challenges, water, quietness and solitude and the great outdoors, this is the place!
