Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The hotel is beautiful but the manager/owner is extremely rude and incompassionate. Highly recommend to avoid! We brought a young family there who was waiting for their home to be ready in the middle of a harsh Minnesota winter. We booked online and the website we booked said that early check-in was allowed but when the family arrived, this manager would not allow early check-in even though we were told by the workers that there were plenty of rooms available. The family stayed two nights, they were quiet and respectful and were able to get out of the cold. When the second night came around, I was there in person with my ID and multiple credit cards but the (very friendly) worker at the front desk was having trouble with her computer system running the cards. She said that the system was running very slow and the issue was on her end, not ours. She said that there would be no problem to call tomorrow to pay or come back later tomorrow and that the room was available in any case so it wouldn't be a problem for them to stay another day and then call in or pay in-person the next day. When 11:00 the next day came around, the manager/owner kicked the family out on the streets. She wouldn't reason with us at all about the night before, or the payment issues, or give any flexibility for allowing them to stay, despite calmly explaining the situation. She stuck strictly to her "rules". She came close to accusing me of credit card fraud. I help families frequently and travel frequently, but I will not be going back to that hotel, or sending any families to that hotel, and I recommend everyone to avoid the hotel. The manager has no compassion or reason or flexibility for humanity. The inside of the hotel is nice, although their computer systems suck. In general, the manager has no compassion for others and I highly recommend to avoid.

My wife and I visited for our anniversary. We were first put in a room that smelled of cat urine and had hair on the bathroom counter. When we were moved to our new room, our tv did not work. Hotel staff attempted to fix it but said they didn’t have the appropriate equipment to do so. We were booked for two nights and had to leave early to get home for a sick child. We were initially told we would be refunded for the second night since we had left before checkout. That story changed once we checked out. We were told a manager would be in contact with us once the work week began so we could discuss it - we left on a Saturday. It has now been 2+ weeks and still have not heard from management. I have reached out 4+ times to speak with someone in management. I would definitely look elsewhere if visiting the area.

Upon entering our room noticed a bug/beetle on the ceiling. Proceeded to kill it only to have 5 more come crawling out of vents and curtains. Killed a total of 6 before going to bed. Pull out sofa sleeper had no linens (sheets or blankets) available in room. No drain plug in bathroom sink. Kitchen counter had burn mark. When addressing our issues with GM (Adam) he offered NO apology. Instead said we should have called the front desk so that they could come to our room and spray. Referred us to booking.com to lodge official complaint. He took absolutely NO ACCOUNTABILITY for this issue. Will not stay or refer this hotel in the future.

BEWARE! This hotel claims that online booking is not the way to go and that those outside booking agents, overbook, so even if you have a reservation, don't count on it. We booked far in advance and because of Oktoberfest going on close by, we believe they knew they could get a higher rate out of last minute bookings, so they dropped our reservation and claimed they called us to let us know. I asked what number they called and they had transposed numbers, so at 6pm we had no room and had to drive over an hour to find a room at that late time of day. Never again, would I book a room at this hotel. Called the manager (Adam) on Monday after our Saturday night reservation was taken from us and all he could say was "sorry, you are not getting a free room from me, I will offer you a 15 to 20% discount." NO THANKS, I will find a hotel that appreciates their guests and wants to be accomodating to them. DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL!

Check in took 20 mins, understaffed. Room very clean with a good layout. Amenities were REALLY BAD. Bath: No sink drain plug, dangerous slippery shower/bath combo with only one handle at knee level for showering, no bath mat, bar of soap was 1" by 1 1/2"...smallest in the world, toilet was only 14" high (felt like back in Japan doing the squat. Bedroom: No alarm clock or any clock, nightstand lamp bulb dead, no hooks for clothing. Kitchen: Sink faucet dripped, stove burner area stained, smallest coffee creamer in the world. Breakfast: waffles very tough, milk bottle empty, coffee urns empty (were refilled when asked). Not a good experience.

While this wasn't the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, it's definitely in the top 5 worst. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with a sleeper sofa, with no linen for the sleeper sofa. It took a trip to the front desk, and then a call to the front desk to get what we needed. There was no housekeeping, at all (which isn't mentioned anywhere), so we had to carry our wet towels down to the front desk every day, have them counted and then carry out new towels up to the room ourselves. IF they had any that were clean. If not, we had to wait for the laundry to finish They gave us 1 roll of toilet paper, for 4 guests, for 5 days. The fire alarm battery died in the middle of the night. When we reported it, they had no replacement battery. They went and bought one and left it in the room for us to replace. There was a random guy roaming the halls and parking lot, talking about how he thinks the elevator is haunted. The kitchenette was pretty poorly stocked. 1 dishwasher detergent pod. Oh, and the entire front of the place was demolished. THE ENTIRE FRONT! Apparently a semi ran into in.... 4 MONTHS AGO! Again, not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in but it was pretty darn close! I had to start sending my daughter and husband to the front desk because I lost all patience after I had to go ask for toilet paper.... I mean, come on!!! I couldn't even call down to the front desk because the phones in the room didn't work! I don't see myself ever returning to this place.

Stayed here for about a week and wish I hadn’t. This place is nice because it has kitchens but it very outdated and needs a lot of maintenance and upgrades. The pandemic sets this place back even further. The staff is great but the manager not so much...

Was a fine hotel for what we needed. Unfortunately we were awoken at 5am by a dryer catching on fire and requiring evacuation of the hotel. We were required to sit in our care for over an hour with our 2 kids in their pajamas. We finally made our way to a near by gas station. On return to the hotel we checked out immediately as the entire place was over powered by the smell of burned plastic. On check out we found out the cause of the fire and were informed the management would be in contact with us to provide some kind of compensation for the inconvenience, no breakfast, exposure, etc. At this point we have not heard anything from the hotel I wouldnt expect a full refund but 5 minutes to make a call to say sorry for the inconvenience would have been nice.

Five of us stayed in a suite. The decor is a bit dated but the space was just fine. It was nice to have a kitchenette and living room to hang out. The hotel was quiet and accommodating. It is located near the mall and other shopping.

The staff was friendly and attentive. Our room was a bit dated, but comfortable for my son and I. Small kitchenette made it easy to keep drinks cool and re-heat leftovers. Pool was smaller, but well maintained. Breakfast in the morning made for a good start to the day. We had a first floor room close to the lobby and while a bit loud, not unbearable.
