Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ended up staying here due to a last-minute cancellation at another hotel in town, which is another whole story. We were in town for one night for a concert and the Coratel had the only room in town. The property needs updating, the bathroom wasn't bad, but the carpeting and furnishings were well worn. The room had a distinct pet urine smell to it, when we went to open the window, the screen was bent. The back doors of the property did not have security, which made us nervous as there were people hanging out and cooking in the parking lot. I wouldn't stay there again, the area definitely needs for up-to-date lodging choices. I think we'll be checking out VRBO our next visit.

Had a relaxing time at this place. Service was wonderful and rooms very clean! I recommend anyone to stay at this establishment. They will be pleased! My wife and I will definitely make this our place to unwind and rest the next time we visit.

Room cold when arrived. Had a hard time regulating the heat. Two chairs in the room were well used and needed cleaning. Beds comfortable. When put the covers back found two very small spots on the top sheet. Moved to the other side of the bed. Never saw a bathroom so small in a motel room. With door open one step and you were at sink, side step 2 steps and turn around and you could be seated on the toilet. To the right of the sink when door closed was the tub (looked clean and shower curtain looked kind of new.(the toilet had a push button flush on the top). Microwave and refrigerator were unplugged (just assumed not working). Room did have a good smell when walked in.. If had not traveled 10 hours and not eaten since breakfast would have shopped around for different lodgings. Continental breakfast (really donuts and coffee).

We could not get a room at our usual motel 6 in Mankato. There was a college tournament going on so the motels were all booked. We used to live here and didn’t think much of the Budget Host appearance. Super 8 recommended we try it. Clean, simple, recently renovated, continental breakfast. No hot food but that was ok. King bed. Slept good.

Hotel was semi clean and OK for myself. Would not bring family here as wifi only worked in lobby and no one was able to help. Breakfast is lacking as only toast, bagels, some muffins, and a little fruit. Should have researched more as then probably would have stayed elsewhere. Ok if you just need a quick sleep and move on.

Very friendly staff! The chocolate chip and blueberry muffins are also very delicious! And it's also pet friendly (dogs) and they have no breed restrictions! We never had a problem with people being too loud, and everyone we encountered were very friendly. They have a washer and dryer too which is very convenient for people who may stay longer than a couple days. We will definitely be back!

Desk staff was nice, room seemed clean with some updates. I had a room with 2 queen or full sized beds. One bed was really bad. When sitting on the edge it almost went to the floor. The other bed was fine. In the morning (7:30am) I checked out, ate breskfast and left for my bike event. To my surprise I soon received a call from the hotel, telling me I forgot my purse in the lobby. I was in a situation where I couldn't run back to get it. The front desk lady assured me it would be safe behind the desk. I returned at 1:45 pm to claim my purse. Im happy to report all the cash and credit cards were untouched. That to me speaks volumes! I would stay with them again.

On the plus side - the motel was reasonably quiet, the beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, the room had a refrigerator and microwave, the place accepts pets and has a clean, grassy area for exercising dogs. (There is a pet fee.) The toilet was a water-saving dual-flush model. There were no odors in the room, although the hallways were smoky. Unfortunately, the room wasn't as clean as I would expect for the price, although it wasn't horrible. The bathroom fixtures were clean enough, but the floor was sticky and I had to clean it with disinfectant wipes. The bed linens were clean, but there were food crumbs on the chairs. The carpet was worn and stained, and the tub was very battered. There was no chain lock (or equivalent security device) on the room door (and there were holes where it used to be). We had a very difficult time with the key cards - between the two of us, the keys failed five times in our 2-night stay and we had to keep going to the desk and ringing for staff to get them re-activated. (And yes, we know better than to put the key cards next to a cell phone.) The exhaust fan in the bathroom was so noisy that when it was running it was impossible to have a conversation anywhere in the room - and it wasn't actually drawing any air - all noise and no function. The exterior doors into the hallways were not locked. In fairness, I should mention that we didn't give the staff an opportunity to finish cleaning the room or offer us a different room (which probably wouldn't have been available, since they were pretty full). Both nights we arrived after 8:30 PM after busy days, and we had to get up very early each morning, so we really didn't have time to work with management to resolve these concerns. It is entirely possible that they might have tried to improve our stay. Based on conversations with other guests, I think portions of the motel have been renovated and may be much nicer than the room we had. If you stay here, I recommend asking for one of the renovated rooms.

We stay here a couple times a year. Usually ok. The reason why I gave this review a 2 is because of all the early morning partying and the lack of response by Front Desk staff. The guys next door got in around 2:30 AM Saturday morning (partied a good hour or so) and on Sunday they came back around 3:30 AM and partied until 6 AM. We called the Front Desk around 4:30 AM on Sunday and he did absolutely nothing. No phone call. No knock on the door. I guess it's a great place to stay if you want to party.... Not sure if we'll go back again.
