Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We stayed in a king suite on the 2nd floor. Room was quiet and clean. We did not eat breakfast, but the food area was very clean and organized when we looked it over at check in. We were told to use the stairs, so I’m not sure if they have an elevator. The bed was really hard, so we didn’t sleep well.

I stayed here one night and it was a pleasant uneventful stay. The person working the front desk when I check into was fast and friendly. The bed was fine. Despite it being firm I could get comfortable. I also like firm pillows and these weren't. I was hoping for an additional pillow in the closet, which is common at most Fairfield Inns. It was surprising to pay $150 (inc. tax) for a room, but I think it's all about yield management and they are the only game in town. If there was an event the city's nice event center, you'd be in luck because they're connected. Breakfast was your typical complimentary budget hotel fare, nothing special. Many AmericInns have a sausage/ham breakfast sandwich. This one had breakfast bean burritos, kinda like something you'd get at a convenience store. There is a decent laundry room on the second floor. The pool is indoors.

Professional, courteous staff. The staff experience is a key factor; keep up the warm welcome and attention to details. Good, reasonable accommodations. Great to have quality hotel in this small city for local needs versus having to go larger area city.

The room was very clean. But there was not essentials I expect - no coffee maker, or hair dryer. The toilet had some problems flushing. And I only was able to get a room for one night. The other problem was that there is no elevator and I was traveling with an 81 year old sister.

If you ever hve the pleasure to be in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, choose the AmericInn. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and funny. The room was great; clean and big. Very comfortable bed. The lobby was clean and comfortable. The pool was a nice relief after a 2+ hour drive. However, the paint is peeling off the walls. Not a huge deal. Just kind of weird. The breakfast area is large and comfortable. The breakfast was gross. It's time for these types of hotels to get the breakfasts back to the way they were when they first started the concept. I mean the hot option is some burrito made in New York City and you have to nuke it for it to be hot. Come on! But great hotel overall!

It was a wonderful stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The waffles were crumbly and tasted bad though. The coffee was good. There was no biscuits and gravy.

I didn't get any sleep, literally. Unless you like sleeping on throw pillows bring your own, they were very small and soft. The pool water was freezing! It felt like a polar plunge. Cold foods for breakfast, and no meat. Overall, though, the hotel and rooms are very clean! I would stay here again, but I'd bring my own pillows.

We had the best experience ever! The hotel was clean, up to date, and the staff was phenomenal. We were there for a youth hockey tournament and everything we needed or wanted was at our fingertips. The breakfast was awesome (mini biscuits and gravy! Yum) The rooms and all common spaces in the hotel were clean and well appointed. I would recommend this property again and again.

I typically really like AmericInn hotels. I stay at them very often. This one in Sleepy Eye MN, however I had a very bad experience at. The hotel was reasonably clean but quite expensive and not up to normal AmericInn standards. We had a last minute family issue and I went to the front desk and asked if I could extend our checkout time from 11:00am to 11:15. Sam at the front desk was rude and completely uncooperative. He said the hotel was booked and they couldn’t spare the 15 minutes. I highly suspected the hotel wasn’t full for the upcoming night but he insisted repeatedly that it was a “completely booked hotel.” We dealt with our issue, threw everything haphazardly in our bags and got into our vehicle. I immediately called the front desk and asked if there was any availability for the night. Sam answered and said, “yes, we have several room options open for tonight.” This was less than 10 minutes later. Complete lies and an unwillingness to help in a pinch when he could have. Will not stay again.

nice place for the size of town, nice staff and very flexible to all of my army needs. Cleaned the room always when asked to and the breakfast was always ready and tasted amazing, there is not much else to say, great place to stay.
