Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel was just beautiful. It is in a great location. We went for a concert it was only a 7 minute walk! The bar and dining area is a good size and they had great food and drinks! The rooms were spotless and beds were super comfortable! We will definitely go back again!

I chose to stay here because I was going to a concert at the T-Mobile Center and didn't really want to have to drive somewhere else after. Indeed, it was SO convenient! This was a bit of a splurge for me, but I was looking forward to a fancier experience. It is the nicest hotel that I've stayed in, and I felt underdressed walking around the hotel in jeans and a band t-shirt, lol. The main reason that I wouldn’t stay again is how uncomfortable the bed was. It felt hard as a rock. I have an extra-firm mattress at home, so I doubt it was just too firm. The 4-year old Sealy was probably just lacking the support needed for a 250lb person and may well come off as soft to a lighter person. Amenities: When I arrived, at 6:30pm on a Friday, the valet had run out of spots. They pointed out the garage across the street, which turned out to be somewhat of a nightmare. (Seriously, DO NOT PARK AT THE WALLSTREET TOWER GARAGE!) I did get the impression that it was unusual for valet to run out of spots, but I stress out over parking and probably wouldn’t have stayed here if I’d have known it was a possibility. Room service said available until 11pm, and dinner showed as available when I tried to order, but I couldn’t actually order anything, even a grilled cheese, at 9:20. So I ordered breakfast for the morning instead. I ordered for a window of 9-9:30 and apparently they tried to deliver it early, while I was briefly away, and have no procedure to notify guests of this. I called at 9:30 and they didn’t answer; it went to Guest Services, who explained and transferred my call back to the kitchen, but they didn’t answer again. So enjoying room service remains on my bucket list. Room Notes: I was initially annoyed that the light switch only turned on the entryway lights, as I manually turned on the other 4 lights one by one. But the sconces by bed were full-range dimming, so that did make sense. The illuminated, magnifying make-up mirror was a nice touch. There were also 3 large mirrors, in the bathroom, entry, and bedroom. I didn’t personally find that to be a plus b/c I was caught off guard by the sight of my haggard self several times. But it probably does help the room to feel bigger. Outlets/Ports, not including bathroom: 9 outlets (including 2 on cabinets on either side of the bed and 3 at the desk) and 6 usb ports (2 on either side of the bed and 2 at desk). Had a wall plug close enough to the bed for a cpap machine. The bathroom door was a nice sliding barn door. I do not know if it is the same in the doubles rooms, where I’d find that less than ideal. The clearance around the commode is kinda tight if you are an obese woman trying to change a tampon. Misc: It seems minor, but I appreciated the 2 free bottles of water in the room. There is a little designated smoking area outside, which is easily accessible yet out of the way of non-smoking guests. One of the front desk attendants actually walked me out to it, when I asked about it.

The Ambassador Hotel in KC is the gold standard of service, from Jenny, Jay, and Theresa in sales to CeeJee and Oscar at the front desk. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we felt welcome, appreciated, and special, making extra sure to honor our Bonvoy status. The valet was quick, and parking garage access was a breeze. The amenities were endless; my favorite was ice service at the front desk - no need to fill your own ice bucket or wonder floors looking for ice; the front desk has you covered and will give out 3lbs bags of ice on request- so easy and so convenient! The hotel has the most welcoming upscale ambiance and high-end finishes and is meticulously maintained. If you want to be treated like royalty and experience the heart of hospitality with a five-star service stay here!

A first time visit to Kansas City to meet some friends for a weekend. I had low expectations for this hotel.. or frankly, any in KC, for a variety of reasons. My stay at this hotel was a pleasant surprise. The staff was engaging and pleasant. Even the door guys repeatedly went out of their way to ask if they could be of assistance with anything (what an idea!?) The room was relatively fresh, large, and well appointed. The general ambiance of the property wasn’t bad either.. a different, but nice lobby space with a nice restaurant and bar area that seemed to attract some people now and then. The preceding said, a couple notes to consider.. If you require a firm bed, this may not be an ideal destination, as my bed was a bit mush and tired. Also, if you’re looking for peace and quiet, ask for a room not facing the main drag the hotel is on.. or at least something on a high floor. The folks of KC seem to be in camp that still think it cool to drive around town revving engine and listening to loud music. It gets old quick when you’re wanting to get some rest.

We had a lovely king room. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. What prevented me from giving 5 stars are the following: Our room was not made up which I attribute to a miscommunication with housekeeping. Someone did arrive at 930AM and I asked them to come back later, but that didn't happen. We were able to get clean towels later from the front desk manager so all was well, the lighting in the room is very subdued making it difficult to read, and finally the view from our room was that of a wall. The hotel's public areas are beautiful. I would stay there again.

We were sorry we couldn’t stay longer since we were on business we could not take advantage of amenities. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom sparkly clean with shampoo & conditioner and body wash in dispensers which were clean. The air temp was perfect.

My family traveled to Kansas City to attend my daughter's wedding. This hotel is beautiful with spacious rooms and great bar! Upon returning one evening, we had drinks at the bar, enjoyed the music by a lovely singer who was later joined by a tap dancer! Service was superb and everyone friendly. This hotel is located downtown near good restaurants and the Basketball Hall of Fame. Only downside is parking is valet service only.
