I have a Question- If a family were to check in late at night, and the lady at the desk were to ask if the family wants the room for a second night, and Dad says "we're not sure yet- we'll let you know in the morning", and to that, Front desk lady says Sure, just let us know. Then what if the family pays and gets the room keys, and say they were going to bed and they decide Yes, they will call the lady at the front desk in the morning to let her know that they would like to stay a second night. Then, after a short nights sleep, Dad awakens and says to himself, "Hey Self, you need to call Front desk lady" so he does that. Then, if Front desk lady says "Great! Glad to hear that the family will be staying a second night! Just come on by later and pay! And Dad proudly says OK I will do that, and the call ends. Dad tells Mom "Hey we are all set for tonight- it's taken care of." Mom and Dad are smiling at each other as the children are all sleeping with little smiles on their faces. Birds are chirping outside the window, as Dad's phone rings- Uh-Oh, it's Front Desk Lady- wonder what she forgot. What if Front Desk Lady said "I'm sorry but we sold your room to someone else, just before you called." Would Dad be wrong to be irritated and question Front desk Lady about their policy regarding selling a room out from under a guest and family? Would Dad be wrong in asking her why she needed the family to get out in 40 minutes- if this was at 9:20 AM. Would Dad be wrong for asking the obvious- Why in the world would you kick out the Family, Rather than simply call the person who just a few minutes ago called to reserve a room? Tell THEM that someone screwed up! Dad thinks to himself wouldn't that be easier than uprooting the happy family who had already been there for a night? Front Desk woman wouldn't budge - "There's nothing we can do" Will it be likely that Dad and his family will ever stay in this place again? Or will he and Mom give Riverside a not so great review?
Hi. My name is Becky Allen. I own and manage the Riverside Lodge and Cabins. I was in the office on the morning in question and was actually the person who rented the room to a family who came to the office at 8:30 a.m. asking to stay another night. I am sorry you were disappointed with the way we take first come first serve customers. I just had no idea you wanted to stay two nights. I sincerely apologize.
