Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is reasonably priced, clean, has a big room size with comfortable beds and is located in a perfect location to visit High Point University or Greensboro. This is the second time we stayed there and we felt satisfied. We would recommend this hotel to families coming into town to visit their college kids. For the value, this hotel does not disappoint .

Assumed the Wyndham name would be enough to ensure decent accommodations, but I was wrong.
PROS
The hotel was quiet and allowed for easy sleeping.
Front desk staff was helpful enough.
Good parking availability.
There is a gas station a stone's throw away from the hotel.
Convenient to High Point downtown and 15 min from airport.
Very large room with couch/sitting area.
Adequate amount of plugs for phone charging etc.
For the price, it was good value.
CONS
Outdated decor.
Bathroom was clean, but after first night, there was not real housekeeping service. i.e. the bed was remade, but the towels remained on the floor and no tidying up was done. Old coffee and stirrers and water cups were left by housekeeping as well.
There was some kind of partition between the room and the big tub, but one door was off its track, and it was clear the tracks had not been cleaned in recent months, and the panels themselves were quite dirty.
I stayed 2 nights.

If you need a comfortable bed in a great location with an affordable price tag, with an average atmosphere, this is your place. Lobby is beautiful. Rooms need minor repairs here and there. Free breakfast is mostly simple. Microwavable sandwiches, coffee, tea, milk, and juices. Cold cereal and individual oatmeal packages. They did have hot pancakes made to order by a cool automated machine. Pancakes were flat, but very tasty. I actually prefer mine flat.

This hotel sets apart from all the other hotels which are all congested in the area needing to deal with traffic - The back of the hotel looks over a small river and wooded area which is very private, park like setting, allowing you an environment that's relaxing - the indoor pool is located at the far end (tuck away) of the hotel and parking lot, over looking this park like setting. The rooms with the electric fireplace and a nice touch. you are within walking distance to two wonderful restaurants ( one steakhouse and one Japanese sushi grill) along with 3 fast food restaurants, gas-station. When you add this up and compare the lower overall cost of the room rates you'll understand why is the perfect hidden paradise.

We booked a room over 3 weeks prior to our stay directly with the hotel. We booked two queen beds. When we arrived at the hotel the night of our stay they apologized to us and said they had given our room away to Expedia customers. There were only two rooms left at this point in time. They did offer us a king bed with a pull out sofa with a small discount because they had given our room away. When we got to the room it was a handicap accessible room with no sleeper sofa. At this point in time we had no choice but to stay in that room because there are no others available. My son went to go take a shower and there was mold in the bathtub. Because it was so late at night we cleaned it up and I didn’t try and change rooms because there were none left. The handle to the faucet in the shower fell off while he was taking a shower.
When I spoke to management the next day they said “I’m sorry “but there’s nothing I can do. We are rewards members and I can promise you that we will never stay at a wingate Wyndham ever again. Horrible horrible customer service. And they did not even seem to

This was one of the dirtiest hotels I have seen in a major chain. I understand staff shortages but the room should be cleaned. As per normal, hotels don't clean rooms daily now, but supposedly do clean between guests. But the sheets don't fit the bed. Without knowing it, we got a California King bed which was great expect they use regular king sheets - they don't fit.

The table, desk, night stand, etc. was not even dusted. Don't even ask about the other flat surfaces in the room.

As per the photos attached, cleanliness and repair was far from a priority at this hotel.

The "market" area where you can get chips, drinks, etc. you cannot charge to your room. You have to pay separately for these. Dumb and creates even more work for an employee.

This hotel obviously is not designed for business travelers because the electric outlets for devices are few and far between plus located in the strangest places.

DON'T STAY HERE!!!!

We have stayed here several times in the past and were pleased with it. But the facility has changed a great deal in the last 3 years. The rate has gone up $40 in 3 years, the facility is really showing its age. It is tired and old looking. There was food crumbs on the carpet, dust and food crumbs on the coffee table in front of the sleeper sofa, and spider webs on the inside of the window. The sleeper sofa was very, very uncomfortable to sit on. The screen that slides closed to separate the bathroom from the bedroom would not close fully. The heater sounded like a jet engine when it kicked on and off. It was just a hot mess. We will find somewhere else to stay for our next trip.

That said, I did sleep well.. But not after some adjustments. The hotel is so old that you can open the windows, luckily it was cold enough to get a breeze through the torn screens. The AC didn’t really work, would be rough here in the warmer weather. It has an odd gas fireplace and jacuzzi tub which i wouldn’t want my worst enemy to bath in; mold and grossness all over the tub.. Shower was barely able to get hot, it was tolerable but not nice. No Bed or wall USB charging, just one very accessible wall socket near the desk, bed sockets were tucked behind Furnature that you could move.. I wouldn’t stay here again.. But I’ve been in worse.

Running toliet could hear it in the hallway. We were told maintenance was gone nothing they can do. There was mold in the bathroom, very rundown, closet door off the hinges not worth the money they charged. They charged extra since there was an event at the local college definitely not worth it will not go back
