Sarah is lovely, caring, and trying very hard to keep things going. Having said that, her husband has been ill and is obviously not able to keep up with running a B and B. He has closed the pub side of the business. We were surprised that his opening comment was "I don't really want to put the heating on" - we had walked 12 miles in the rain and wanted to dry out both ourselves and our clothing. Sarah made lasagne for supper, but breakfast was covered in cat hair and was very mediocre.
As soon as we arrived the owner (Sarah) came out to welcome us, which was very nice!. There were 6 of us so we used all 3 rooms and they were all immaculate. The decor was maybe a little bit dated but the rooms were very comfortable. Tea making facilities in every room and nice fluffy towels in the bathrooms. There are 2 double rooms with en suite showers and 1 twin room with a full bathroom. We had a nice choice of menu for our evening meal which was excellent and the full English breakfast in the morning was amazing. The Inn itself is a little bit off the beaten track but worth finding!
Well away from the beaten track, but with lovely views over the countryside. Sarah made us so welcome and couldn't have been friendlier. The breakfasts were huge and delicious, and we had everything we needed - including putting the heating on at the end of July so our room was lovely and cosy when we returned in the evening after a day in the rain!
We had a lovely three night stay at Marshpools for the Hay Festival. Sarah was a very attentive host and couldn't do enough for us. Rooms were very clean and although the decor is simple, there is everything you could need- flat screen TV, kettle, alarm clock and free wifi. I could not fault our stay and would be very happy to recommend to others and to stay again myself.
This B&B is one to be avoided! Dated 60's decor, mould in the shower cubicle, dirty cups and lime scale in the kettle, fusty smelling throughout the whole place. We was not told times to check out and so we should agreed to leave around 1pm with Rodger . At ten past 1 ,the landlady banged on the door said I want the room free now , she could clearly see we were just about to leave . I have never had a landlady so rude , we booked this B and B as all others were full now I know why no one else was staying there August 2nd when all others full . It is gross not one person in the bar Saturday or Sunday ?? But I know now how dirty cobwebs every where really is shocking the place needs upgrading . 80 pounds a night for what ? We could not use shower due to mold every where ' dirty smelly towels . We was down in Hereford for a friends party when I told the rough landlady Sara not to shout at me she said not my fault you have a hangover which I didn't as I drove to the party and back to this smelly dump . Sara said breakfast was at 9 , I would not eat it as smell of place, landladys attitude , do not be temped to visit or stay in that dump .…
