Cannot fault this B&B. Perfect for staying over if you’re going to a gig at Dreamland. Placebo were AWESOME last night and this was an ideal location for getting to and from the show. Would recommend as a 2* place in Margate. Clean, tidy and lovely breakfast.

We stayed last night as we were attending a gig in Margate . This hotel is a must . It’s very clean , has a lovely lounge area , breakfast room and lovely little garden at the back . The hosts were lovely and very friendly . The room was very clean and modern , with a good quality hairdryer , the bed was comfortable and the road noise was minimal . The breakfast was delicious and they used very good quality ingredients . There is ample parking and it’s a short walk along the seafront into central Margate . We would highly recommend staying here and will be staying here next time we are in Margate . Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one .

A lovely hotel with a kind & friendly patron. A very calm place...and a great way to get your steps up walking into the centre of town from here! If you want a wardrobe in your bedroom and are going to complain because there is not one, this is not the place for you. If you don't mind that there is a clothes rail in your room, then this is the place. The room & en-suite was clean and well stocked. Recommended. We'll be back in July if our plans go to form!

Absolutely no storage space - no usable drawers, no shelves, no wardrobe. Shower cubicle far too small for an adult, water either too hot or too cold, impossible to achieve a sensible temperature. Room 6 ( our room ) backs onto a very busy road, traffic noise all night plus late night revelers on street outside shouting and singing at 3.00 am. Ineffectual double glazing - window would not open so room far too hot after showering. On street parking available if you are lucky - if not expect to park several hundred yards away from the hotel Yes, the room was clean, and yes, the breakfast's were nice, but you have to specify the exact time you want breakfast, and the will have a considerable wait whilst other guests's meals are cooked. This really was not worth the money.

Response from Ali Shakir, Owner at Sherwood Hotel
Responded 20 Mar 2023
Dear Guests, Thank you for your review. We were sorry to hear about your disappointment . I believe that you stayed at the hotel for more or less 2 days. Upon check in , we advised the guests to let us know if there are any problems so that we can sort it out . Over the breakfast , we asked every guests if there is any problem . We could have sort out some of the issues by either fixing the problem or moving you to another room . However , you mention the problem on the day of your departure , therefore we cannot do anything anymore. Breakfast is cook to order . By asking breakfast time , it will avoid for guests to come all at once and more waiting time for breakfast to be serve . On some instances, guests will not follow their breakfast time , they can be early or late therefore affects the serving time. Guests usually will have juices, fruits , cereals and yogurts while waiting for big breakfast . Some of your concerns are being address now like storage . Unfortunately , we cannot control the people s behavior on the road . We clearly stated the parking situation upon confirmation of your booking via booking.com Thank you for your review. It is valuable to us and help us improve our service . Best regards , Sherwood Hotel

Best 2* I have stayed in. Great location - close enough to walk to everywhere you'd want to visit in Margate, whilst far enough from the centre not to suffer from any late night noise. I had room with balcony overlooking the sea. Very comfy, calm modern furnishings, lovely and clean with a great shower. Staff were also very welcoming. I'll definitely return and definitely recommend it to my friends.

Had such a great stay on NYE - it was the perfect base to have a really special 24 hours in Margate, made all the better by the kind owner and spotless hotel! Room was spacious, comfy and had everything we needed. We had a sea view and had a swim in the morning which was only a 10 min walk to get to the beach. Such lovely bars and restaurants really near by! Veggie breakfast was perfect and we had such a lovely chat with the owner who was so kind and made us feel very welcome! Would 100% come back on our next trip to Margate :)

We were pleased with our room with a sea view. The lady running the hotel was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. There are a lot of stairs, so wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues, but we would definitely stay again.

Very clean well kept hotel right opposite the sea. Parking available outside. A cooked to order full English breakfast with veggie option. Cereal, yoghurt, fruit, toast & juice. Lovely powerful shower & comfy bed. Would definitely recommend as was cheaper than travelodge and cooked breakfast. Outside seating area. The staff were cheerful and made you feel welcome

Very clean and tidy, excellent breakfast as well. Booked as near the Winter Gardens which was handy for our Libertines gig. Would stay again if any more gigs are there. The lady that welcomed us was very polite, bathroom had shower gel and soap in.
