Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Traditional house, nice enough room, but no a/c. No tea or coffee making facilities, no Wi-Fi in rooms, no hairdryer. What really killed it though, was the miserable and unhelpful front of house lady, with the cigarette hanging out of her mouth. Absolutely no effort at all.

Beautiful location and views from every room. Friendly and helpful staff. The only down side is that there was no A/C but fans were provided and in the evening it cools down so I really didn't miss it. You'll spend most of the day out on one of the patios or exploring beaches.

Unfortunately the host was really unfriendly and arrogant. We really tried to communicate in spanish (she doesn‘t speak english) but she didn‘t had the patience to explain things in an understandable way. We don‘t have high expectations, but she wasn‘t interested in helping us in any way. E.g. showing us on a map where the parking lot was. The view from the terrace is amazing and Deia is worth a visit. But we really recommend a different hotel.

Stopped at this Hostal 3 times now over a 20 year period, however the only thing really going for the place are the things that this establishment do not control, location and views. On arrival we ordered a couple of drinks to have on the terrace and was met by an outstretched hand and a blunt request for cash(six euros) whilst a couple sat right next to us were left to pay their bill at the end as normal, making us feel rather uncomfortable, Then I remembered the insistence of us paying cash on our last visit against the advertised “credit cards accepted” with a massive charade about the machine not working. We had to actually ring the hotel to get anyone to check us in, with an instant demand of €2 euros tourist tax, it quickly becomes apparent that they are more interested in cash than guests, the signs are everywhere, I had to laugh at the one scribbled on our bathroom door, “please pay cash por favor “ I was expecting one under my pillow ! To be fair some of the rooms are beautiful and the views are stunning but the owners are from a different era and to be honest don’t deserve to be in a beautiful place like Deià , time to look elsewhere in the future I’m afraid, such a shame it really could be an outstanding place to stay, but not, I’m afraid under this management, they come from the Basil Fawlty school of Etiquette !

Gorgeous setting and a beautiful clean room with a private terrace. BUT, even though I know everyone can have an off day, the reception was cold and very unfriendly. Such a pity for a place with such potential. We ended up going somewhere else for breakfast because the owner made us feel so unwelcome.

The most beautiful location and stunning views. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess but were otherwise disappointed. We were visiting shortly after COVID lockdown was lifted, so it is understandable that some things were not as they would be normally. However the towels were like cardboard, the room was small and had no AC, and the shower drain was blocked.

Location is great but the feel of the place was very flat due to very average service, though it did depend on who you spoke to, and breakfast was a disappointment. As it’s a beautiful old place you could hear other guests talking until late and then early as people get up to hike, so too noisy for me. Lovely terrace, brilliant views.

Brilliant location in central Deià. Views are amazing. Unfortunately the weather was in the mid 30s when we visited and due to the lack of air conditioning, and the fact our room didn’t have a window, we were unable to sleep in the room for more than two (out of 7) nights. Miguel at the Hostal was very helpful and gave us the remainder of our money back.

I went to Deia for a destination wedding and stayed here because of its location. It was really close to the city centre, considering that Deia is a charming little village. Since I was out most of the time, I basically used the hotel to leave my luggage and sleep. The room was good, rather big, but apart from that, nothing special. Breakfast is not included and communication with them is a little bit hard. I struggled to exchange e-mails with them and when arrived, in the middle of night, even though I had already warned I would arrive late, there was no one waiting at the reception and my booking information was wrong.

A lovely quaint hotel in a great location Excellent value for money with absolutely outstanding views. We had a one bed apartment which was huge with a great balcony to enjoy the scenery. Close to nearby bars and restaurants a fantastic base to explore. Breakfast not great but ok all in all I would highly recommend this hotel
