Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel is nice enough . Unfortunately when we were there the chef had gone home early during the lunch service and the lad behind the bar made our toasties which were basically raw . The car parking is really good though . Woukd I ho back? Probably not

Stayed with friends and had the pleasure of chatting to the nicest and most attentive staff on the front desk. The views in both our room and our friends room were incredible, with a 180 degree view of the beautiful quay. The size of the rooms and the amenities were perfect, will definitely be back!

For the prices it charges this hotel needs a major upgrade including new windows and bedroom furnishings. The en-suites have been updated but the rest is tired, old, damp etc. The kettle was broken and there was no hairdryer. Dungarvan is a great town with great pubs and nice restaurants and deserves better.

Dear Guest, I was disheartened to read about your experience at Lawlors Hotel. All our rooms have hair dryers as standard and would be very concerned to hear you encountered damp. I would love to have an opportunity to speak with you in hopes that we can take the right steps to restore your confidence in our hotel and welcome you back. Staff are very friendly however the food was awful. There were 4 of us. 2 had salmon which was dried up and tasted ‘off’ and was not eaten. 2 of us had chicken which looked lovely tasted ok but was far from hot. A free coffee was given because the salmon was inedible. Will not be back.

Called into Lawlors Hotel for some dinner with my husband and son and I'm sorry to say the service and food were very poor. The roast of the day consisted of 50% green beans, grey beef and 2 half scoops of lumpy mash. The turkey and ham was much the same and my son ordered fish and chips which look good but was tasteless. The waiting staff were rude and hard to understand. We had contact with 3 different waiters, the last one came to our table to see if we were ready to leave as it was busy and he wanted our table and had a face like thunder when I asked for a glass of wine...he actually scowled at me saying "WHAT?". The 3 half meals, as I wouldn't consider what we got a full adult meal and drinks cost €84. So being treated badly and hounded for our table ruined the experience. The chairs were also ripped. Not a good experience at all, I've never left a negative review before and I'm sorry that I have to do so now as I love to support local businesses.

Dear Louise, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. We appreciate all guest feedback we receive, and from this we are continually able to improve our services and product. I am pleased to read you enjoyed the location. We do not have any ripped seats in the bar so I'm not sure if you have the correct location? We pride ourselves on the quality of our beef so we are very disappointed to have not been aware of an issue on the occasion of your visit. I welcome you to contact me directly so that we may speak in greater depth about your experience and how we can improve. I hope we will have the opportunity welcome you back to Lawlors Hotel. Kind regards, Reservations Manager

Rated as Irish faulty towers. Called in for a Guinness. Bar was sticky, sent Mrs to sit down. Dirty knife under the table, cool. Guinness was great. Would I eat there, probably not. Would I stay there, maybe but I do like a spanking……………………………

This is a nice 3 star hotel nicely situated In Dungarvan by the harbour and at the end of the Waterford greenway. Loads of nice restaurants including seafood restaurants nearby. We had a group of 10 at an event in the hotel and all were very happy with our stay. Of the 5 rooms only one had any issues and that was quickly rectified. Although a bit more attention to window cleaning might be in order. The kitchen seems to have been under pressure with the full house when we were there and maybe there is room for improvement in systems and menu. Bar serving food was nice and staff couldn’t be nicer. And for some reason teaspoons were, as a previous reviewer mentioned, in very short supply. Lawlors is older type three star hotel and a good three star at that with ample car park. Overall good value and we will certainly be back whenever in that area again.

Location ! Location! Location ! This hotel is at the heart of Dungarvan towm centre , short walk to all shops pubs and restaurants and beautiful harbour The hotel itself is bit drab on the inside , an attempt has been made at modernising rooms but really alot yet to do , that said our room was clean with a lovely shower and a sea view . Breakfast was lovely what a treat to have it served up to you, no queueing to use the toaster ( hate that!) Bliss I had the Thai red curry for dinner, sadly very bland, rice like mush very disappointed I would definitely come back perfect place for a night out in Fungarvan !
