we have stayed in a few 4 star all inclusive hotels over the years but this place blows them all out of the water.
a lovely mix of all generations here definitely wasn't an old people's home as described by some.
beautiful reception area where you are greeted by a lovely chilled glass of cava on arrival.room wasn't ready but wasn't a problem cases in locker room and then find our bearings, only waited an hour or so.
rooms are spacious, clean and beds were comfortable and huge.
food is really good, plenty of choice( i really don't know how people moan about the lack of choice if you can't find something to eat in here there is something seriously wrong with you) and real bacon at breakfast was a delicious surprise.the sight of a lovely ice bucket with your wine at evening meal is just a lovely touch and the long trousers rule is a minor inconvenience, just get changed into shorts after your meal it's not a problem.
Kasbah restaurant for our once only free visit was beautiful and a nice little change.
the no sunbed reservation before 9:30 rule is brilliant,no getting up at silly o'clock to reserve a bed and anyway there are plenty of beds around the 2 lovely pools so no need to rush.
pool bar serves lovely lunchtime food, toasties, burgers, pizza, salads and my favourite the buffalo chicken wings all served to you as well as drinks to your table by the very polite and helpful staff(special mention to Angel he was lovely and a cheeky sense of humour)
branded drinks as part of all inclusive are just the icing on the cake,Estrella lager, smirnoff vodka, bombay sapphire gin to name a few all served with proper bottled mixers but having Greygoose vodka in the AI was just amazing, again all served to your table by the lovely staff in the so relaxing piano bar while chilling to lovely music.
i would loved to have met the main man Mr Jose Vasquez as i love reading his replies on here,he is very passionate about his hotel and quite rightly defends it whole heartedly.
we will definitely be back here next year we are missing it already.
i can't recommend this place highly enough
A spectacular foyer and reception area.A very impressive start to the holiday.
We enjoyed this visit just as much as our previous trips.
We requested a room on a high floor with a walk in shower and that is exactly what we were given many thanks to the reception staff for that.
Rooms are spacious with 6ft wide beds large bathrooms and ,in our case, a great sun trap balcony.
Hotel is ideally situated. A few minutes walk through the lovely gardens takes you to a safe sandy beach with a few restaurants/bars and a couple of small supermarkets.
Ideal place, in low season for mature couples who want a fairly quiet holiday.
We particularly like the themed nights in the restaurant. Asian, Mexican, Canarian food etc and with a free themed drink too.
Good to meet the manager Jose again for a quick chat. If he is in his office in the foyer the door is always open.
The room was spacious with a lovely large and private balcony with a table and two reclining chairs. The room was equipped with a tea/coffee tray and an electric kettle and more importantly a small fridge to keep our water cold. The bathroom was a large space and fitted with an over-the-bath shower, toilet and bidet and a great hair dryer located near to the mirror. Our towels were changed every day. There were Hotel branded toiletries too but we always like to take our own so only used the hand soap.
Unfortunately for us we found the beds were incredibly hard but by the end of our 10 day stay we had nearly got used to sleeping on them.
We always found a table in the restaurant for the buffet breakfast and dinner where we found the food to be both varied and of good quality. Themed nights were the idea at dinner from Italian, Mediterranean, Indian etc and it was great to sample dishes that perhaps you wouldn’t normally choose. There was a “freshly cooked in front of you” food station too and the fish from there was wonderful.
There was a good selection of reasonably priced wine to purchase and we soon learned to ask for large red wine glasses from which to enjoy our beverage. It would have been lovely to have had a coffee station after dinner too. There were several Nespresso machines to use at breakfast so it would have been great to have had them out at dinner also.
The location of the Hotel is perfect for either walking into town for Retail Therapy or for walking out to the Lighthouse. We did not use the pool although it looked beautiful but we are walkers not sun worshippers.
We did not encounter any problems on our holiday and we enjoyed ourselves very much. We were hoping to book to stay again this coming January but the latest Covid virus has put us off for the time being. Once we know what travel restrictions ( if any) are in place then we may have a rethink. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel.
The animation team seemed a lot more organised this time with Emma in charge who is a wonderful happy irish pocket rocket. Katerina always has a smile and my partner tells me is excellent in aqua aerobics and Pilates judging the audience well to meet everyone's needs according to their ability. Rihanne is a little bit crazy but full of fun and energy, Thia is a great esition to the team and speaks 6 languages so will be able to help all guests in their own language, level headed and a smile to boot.
The cleaning staff, pool staff and general maintenance team are all superb and always greet you when they pass in the corridor with a cheerful "good morning"
The not so positive bits ...
All inclusive guests now dont get their fridges re-stocked so when it's gone you have to remember to bring water etc up to the room, I dont see why they have done this as it's all free for all inclusive. The rooms are all of same standard however If your in rooms 410 to 430 or 510 to 530 expect to be woken each morning by food delivery trucks, if you sleep with balcony door open.
Check in is a lengthy process as only ever seem to have 2 staff on at one time. Finally I would never buy anything from hotel gift shop again as we bought a ring last year where the main stone fell out after 5 days, they were not interested in helping instead telling us we would need to contact her supplier directly, no offer to do it for us especially as we dont speak Spanish.
On arrival we walked in to a beautiful reception area,we were checked in immediately, the gentleman who checked us in was very efficient and polite,we requested rooms close to amenaties as we were travelling with my parents wich both have mobility issues our request was granted.
Rooms both with sea views were spotless, bright and extremely comfortable.the bed is huge and very comfortable,we were also given rooms with walk in showers wich was a bonus
Staff wonderful, cannot do enough for you, they are a credit to this hotel, and they all work so hard to make this hotel one of the best we have ever stayed at,I've been to 5 star hotels and this place beats them all.
The entertainment, includes tributes to ABBA Beatles,80 rock,Motown, great shows
The food is good quality in the main restaurant ,includes a good range for breakfast, and themed evening meal, we had lunch in the pool bar fabulous including salads pizza burgers etc
The alcarte is absolutely beautiful the menu is delicious, you get 1 free visit a week
The drinks, you get branded high end spirits included in the all inclusive package, with branded mixers, and gluten free beer.
Pools,we were lucky to find the undercover heated pool on the first day this is a gem as we our spent 2 weeks constantly using, this made the holiday even better !! My parents found this wonderful as it has a lift for people with disabilities or find it hard to climb in and out of the pool.
Location, there is a beach about 5 mins walk with shops, and a few restaurants and bars it's a nice walk.
We felt very safe all staff wear masks and are constantly cleaning
All in all,I would highly recommend this hotel,we couldn't find a fault, hoping to return very soon 😍
I later spoke to the manager who informed me that the room we had now been allocated was in fact what he described as a superior room and should have cost a further €400, but a superior room is not mentioned anywhere on the TUI web site. Only a pool view room or a sea view room.
The room which we were finally allocated was the sea view room clearly shown on the TUI web site.
If you are considering this hotel please be very aware of this problem before you book. If you read the reviews you will see that I am not the only person who has had this problem.
Otherwise the hotel was fine. Staff were very pleasant. However, because of this problem we would not return.
"No sun bed issue with the early risers, plenty to go around, was very windy so take something warm.Sea gate fails to open, hop over wall"Read full review
