wow...where to start.
we have stayed in a few 4 star all inclusive hotels over the years but this place blows them all out of the water.
a lovely mix of all generations here definitely wasn't an old people's home as described by some.
beautiful reception area where you are greeted by a lovely chilled glass of cava on arrival.room wasn't ready but wasn't a problem cases in locker room and then find our bearings, only waited an hour or so.
rooms are spacious, clean and beds were comfortable and huge.
food is really good, plenty of choice( i really don't know how people moan about the lack of choice if you can't find something to eat in here there is something seriously wrong with you) and real bacon at breakfast was a delicious surprise.the sight of a lovely ice bucket with your wine at evening meal is just a lovely touch and the long trousers rule is a minor inconvenience, just get changed into shorts after your meal it's not a problem.
Kasbah restaurant for our once only free visit was beautiful and a nice little change.
the no sunbed reservation before 9:30 rule is brilliant,no getting up at silly o'clock to reserve a bed and anyway there are plenty of beds around the 2 lovely pools so no need to rush.
pool bar serves lovely lunchtime food, toasties, burgers, pizza, salads and my favourite the buffalo chicken wings all served to you as well as drinks to your table by the very polite and helpful staff(special mention to Angel he was lovely and a cheeky sense of humour)
branded drinks as part of all inclusive are just the icing on the cake,Estrella lager, smirnoff vodka, bombay sapphire gin to name a few all served with proper bottled mixers but having Greygoose vodka in the AI was just amazing, again all served to your table by the lovely staff in the so relaxing piano bar while chilling to lovely music.
i would loved to have met the main man Mr Jose Vasquez as i love reading his replies on here,he is very passionate about his hotel and quite rightly defends it whole heartedly.
we will definitely be back here next year we are missing it already.
i can't recommend this place highly enough

Dear Coling860, Thank you very much for your lovely review and rating of 5 points. I'm sorry that we have not met and talked personally. That was sure my fault, I'd like to talk to every guest, but in a huge hotel like ours, it is impossible, the time has not so many hours... but surely you have seen me. Tall, blond hair, young, handsome... hahaha.... nooooo.... I,m in my 50s, fit, but with my years, a mix of dark and white hair, and 1,70cm tall... I'll be honoured to talk to you next time you come. Contact us in advance if you have any wishes. Kind regards, José Angel Vázquez GM

H10 Timanfaya Palace in Playa Blance on the island of Lanzarote is a dream come true especially when one lives in the northern hemisphere. Leaving mid winter dark dismal weather to land in the land of sunshine is the best idea I ever had!! It really doesn't get any better. This is our 4th year to travel to H10 Timanfaya Palace just after Christmas. It's so nice looking forward to the luxury, great weather & wonderful staff in the middle of the snow, ice & general miserable winter weather at home. The bedrooms are large & we had a view of the sea & pool with balcony. There is a pillow menu, robes & slippers, luxurious linen & duvets; luxurious towels; tea/coffee making with some lovely touches on our arrival. We received a glass of prosecco on arrival & a box of Lindt chocolates and a bottle of Brut were waiting in our room. Safe, laundry service, complimentary toiletries and daily cleaning are all provided by very friendly, courteous staff. Since our last visit the staff on Reception are much friendlier & smile now. 'Check in' was a very pleasant experience this year. Yay! The dining room staff once again are the stars of the hotel. We were welcomed like old friends & made feel welcome very morning at breakfast & every evening at dinner. The food is to die for. I must have gained 10 lbs in a week. It was impossible not to sample everything & I enjoyed every moment & every mouthful. This year we booked a 'Privilege' room & had slightly different robes, slippers, daily bottles of water, complimentary room safe, use of the Club room with complimentary crisps & alcohol; newspapers & magazines in all languages; turn down service each evening with a little box of Lindst chocolates placed on the pillow. The icing on the cake was the New Year's Eve gala ball. Spectacular hardly describes it. The fun & decorations & food & more fun & fireworks & menu were sublime. Everyone dresses up & makes an effort to look well & the excitement is palpable. We had such fun. The hotel is on the water's edge with a lovely paved path going to the village in one direction & to a magical lighthouse in the other. I just love H10 Timanfaya Palace hotel & I urge you to go visit & experience it for yourselves. I am delighted to say it has continued to improve over the 4 years we have visited there & we will return once again in December. Thank you H10 Timanfaya Palace hotel for a really wonderful holiday & a New Year's Eve to remember :-)) I cannot wait to go back :-))

Can’t praise this hotel highly enough.
A spectacular foyer and reception area.A very impressive start to the holiday.
We enjoyed this visit just as much as our previous trips.
We requested a room on a high floor with a walk in shower and that is exactly what we were given many thanks to the reception staff for that.
Rooms are spacious with 6ft wide beds large bathrooms and ,in our case, a great sun trap balcony.
Hotel is ideally situated. A few minutes walk through the lovely gardens takes you to a safe sandy beach with a few restaurants/bars and a couple of small supermarkets.
Ideal place, in low season for mature couples who want a fairly quiet holiday.
We particularly like the themed nights in the restaurant. Asian, Mexican, Canarian food etc and with a free themed drink too.
Good to meet the manager Jose again for a quick chat. If he is in his office in the foyer the door is always open.

Our first overseas holiday in more than two years and what a fantastic time we had at this Hotel. Checkin was quick and we were very pleased to learn that we had been upgraded to a 5th floor room with a stunning sea view. Thank you, thank you.

The room was spacious with a lovely large and private balcony with a table and two reclining chairs. The room was equipped with a tea/coffee tray and an electric kettle and more importantly a small fridge to keep our water cold. The bathroom was a large space and fitted with an over-the-bath shower, toilet and bidet and a great hair dryer located near to the mirror. Our towels were changed every day. There were Hotel branded toiletries too but we always like to take our own so only used the hand soap.

Unfortunately for us we found the beds were incredibly hard but by the end of our 10 day stay we had nearly got used to sleeping on them.

We always found a table in the restaurant for the buffet breakfast and dinner where we found the food to be both varied and of good quality. Themed nights were the idea at dinner from Italian, Mediterranean, Indian etc and it was great to sample dishes that perhaps you wouldn’t normally choose. There was a “freshly cooked in front of you” food station too and the fish from there was wonderful.

There was a good selection of reasonably priced wine to purchase and we soon learned to ask for large red wine glasses from which to enjoy our beverage. It would have been lovely to have had a coffee station after dinner too. There were several Nespresso machines to use at breakfast so it would have been great to have had them out at dinner also.

The location of the Hotel is perfect for either walking into town for Retail Therapy or for walking out to the Lighthouse. We did not use the pool although it looked beautiful but we are walkers not sun worshippers.

We did not encounter any problems on our holiday and we enjoyed ourselves very much. We were hoping to book to stay again this coming January but the latest Covid virus has put us off for the time being. Once we know what travel restrictions ( if any) are in place then we may have a rethink. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel.

Have stayed here for a week leaving tomorrow we have travelled extensively so we have lots to compare but this hotel is outstanding. We booked the privilege rooms and it has been well worth it. We have eaten in the a la carte restaurant for breakfast and evening meal the restaurant is lovely food and wine good and service excellent Also the main bar at the hotel is so relaxing as privilege guests we could order any drinks we wanted and they were all premium branded . There was a choice of buffet restaurant or pool bar for lunch both were good. The hotel was spotless a great location on the ocean and twenty mins walk into the centre of playa Blanca. All staff were friendly helpful and COVID aware need to mention Lydia on reception who went above and beyond to assist us . Overall a great find we will definitely return would throughly recommend

I obviously thought this hotel was good last year to return again, which gives me a great opportunity to compare year on year. Facilities are still good although options on food have reduced slightly on main dishes. Special mention for Pepe and angel who are fantastic friendly and super helpful. Antonio and Chris coming a close second.
The animation team seemed a lot more organised this time with Emma in charge who is a wonderful happy irish pocket rocket. Katerina always has a smile and my partner tells me is excellent in aqua aerobics and Pilates judging the audience well to meet everyone's needs according to their ability. Rihanne is a little bit crazy but full of fun and energy, Thia is a great esition to the team and speaks 6 languages so will be able to help all guests in their own language, level headed and a smile to boot.
The cleaning staff, pool staff and general maintenance team are all superb and always greet you when they pass in the corridor with a cheerful "good morning"
The not so positive bits ...
All inclusive guests now dont get their fridges re-stocked so when it's gone you have to remember to bring water etc up to the room, I dont see why they have done this as it's all free for all inclusive. The rooms are all of same standard however If your in rooms 410 to 430 or 510 to 530 expect to be woken each morning by food delivery trucks, if you sleep with balcony door open.
Check in is a lengthy process as only ever seem to have 2 staff on at one time. Finally I would never buy anything from hotel gift shop again as we bought a ring last year where the main stone fell out after 5 days, they were not interested in helping instead telling us we would need to contact her supplier directly, no offer to do it for us especially as we dont speak Spanish.

We travelled in October and stayed for 2 week and wish it had been longer!,
On arrival we walked in to a beautiful reception area,we were checked in immediately, the gentleman who checked us in was very efficient and polite,we requested rooms close to amenaties as we were travelling with my parents wich both have mobility issues our request was granted.
Rooms both with sea views were spotless, bright and extremely comfortable.the bed is huge and very comfortable,we were also given rooms with walk in showers wich was a bonus
Staff wonderful, cannot do enough for you, they are a credit to this hotel, and they all work so hard to make this hotel one of the best we have ever stayed at,I've been to 5 star hotels and this place beats them all.
The entertainment, includes tributes to ABBA Beatles,80 rock,Motown, great shows
The food is good quality in the main restaurant ,includes a good range for breakfast, and themed evening meal, we had lunch in the pool bar fabulous including salads pizza burgers etc
The alcarte is absolutely beautiful the menu is delicious, you get 1 free visit a week
The drinks, you get branded high end spirits included in the all inclusive package, with branded mixers, and gluten free beer.
Pools,we were lucky to find the undercover heated pool on the first day this is a gem as we our spent 2 weeks constantly using, this made the holiday even better !! My parents found this wonderful as it has a lift for people with disabilities or find it hard to climb in and out of the pool.
Location, there is a beach about 5 mins walk with shops, and a few restaurants and bars it's a nice walk.
We felt very safe all staff wear masks and are constantly cleaning
All in all,I would highly recommend this hotel,we couldn't find a fault, hoping to return very soon 😍

We recently stayed for 2 weeks at The Timanfaya Palace,Playa Blanca, Lanzarote on holiday. I had paid about £400 extra for a sea view room. On arrival we were allocated a room which could only be described at best as a pool view room. Having paid extra for a sea view room I complained. After about 2 hours of complete confrontation and getting the TUI rep involved we were allocated a sea view room, as was shown in the brochure. NOT a good start to any holiday.
I later spoke to the manager who informed me that the room we had now been allocated was in fact what he described as a superior room and should have cost a further €400, but a superior room is not mentioned anywhere on the TUI web site. Only a pool view room or a sea view room.
The room which we were finally allocated was the sea view room clearly shown on the TUI web site.
If you are considering this hotel please be very aware of this problem before you book. If you read the reviews you will see that I am not the only person who has had this problem.
Otherwise the hotel was fine. Staff were very pleasant. However, because of this problem we would not return.

Dear brucedu, I remember you perfectly. You came to my office your last day. -Mr Manager, I leave today and I want to tell you that I am very unhappy +Tell me Sir, what happened and how can I help you. -The hotel and the staff, very well, but when I arrive I had to wait 2 hours to get a good room. +Sorry sir. Explain me please more. -I paid for a sea view room and the one I got I did not like it. I complained to the reception and had to wait 2 hours to get a better sea view room!!!! +For sure sir you got a sea view room. If you did not like the area and we have availability, that is not very usual, we show you other rooms. By chance that was early and we would have another seaview rooms in 2 hours. And we gave you one of them... - & +: blah, blah, blah,... - Ok, mr Manager, how are you going to compensate this, I can leave very happy or very unhappy... you decide. + I'm sorry sir?... what do you mean?. - If I come back next year, I want you to give me waterfall area 2nd or 3rd floor. I want warranty of that. +Sir, if you want that, just reserve a superior room and ask for that area, and will do our best. -No, I don't want to pay anything. I can leave very happy or very unhappy... you decide. I'll write on Tripadvisor. +Ok sir, do whatever you want, but I you want. If you want that area, you have to pay for that. "However, because of this problem we would not return."--- Because of that, or because I don't let myself be blackmailed...?? Regards, José Angel Vázquez General Manager

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We visited in November with half board which was fine. Our room was lovely and spacious. Only complaint with the food was that the breakfast items weren't very warm in their presentation trays. My husband says he wished there had been more gluten free deserts available in the evening but on the whole the food was good. If you are all inclusive you get drinks free and the drinks are branded so good value. The main selling point for the hotel was its position which was out of the main resort and halfway along the main promenade which meant we could walk either to the lighthouse one way or the resort and marina the other. We also ventured up the volcano which had stunning views. We felt safe in the hotel with everyone wearing masks when moving about, even in the restaurants. It would have been good for someone to ensure that people used the hand sanitizer when entering the restaurant though especially as it was generally self service. Our only niggle was check in when we arrived as it took so long. If we had been at the back of the queue I believe it took approx 45 mins. We could also hear the couple next to us receiving much more information than was given to us . However, after our second visit to reception, we managed to load the app and get the information we needed. Evening entertainment was mixed but great to have options and we enjoyed most of what we saw. Overall a great visit and we wouldn't hesitate in returning.

This was our ninth visit to TP. As a hotel it cannot be faulted. The staff really do deserve a special mention. In the Dining Room, Fran and Anita are excellent hosts, warm and hospitable. The Entertainment team are excellent, Hector - what would the hotel do without you? The hotel is always spotless, the pool area and bar are very welcoming, our favourite waiter, Jesus in the pool bar, is always attentive and entertaining. What is it about this hotel that makes it so special? Excellent service, good range of food, brilliant entertainment (and not just the sporting activities, the lunchtime range of cocktail making, cooking competitions etc. are thoroughly entertaining) and the lovely, hardworking staff make this hotel worthy of rave reviews. Every year, we say it can't possibly be as good as we remember. And it always is. TP has a very special place in our hearts and we will be back next year.

mineral water is included in the ALL-IN but they encourage you to use your own water bottle or buy a bottle from the reception but in the restaurant they serve you the water in large glass bottles for the lilos have seen others use in the pools but not to be used in the covered pool

The nearest toilets are in the town itself, just along from the main taxi rank close to the fruit and veg shop and in the bus station. I heard a few years ago of someone going into the Iberostar, through the snack bar from the Prom, but don't know the location of the toilets. They weren't comfortable about doing it, apparently.
