Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best Caprese sandwiches! We got Salumeria Da Aldo sandwiches for our boat tour around the island. The tomatoes were soaked in olive oil and oregano for a heavily flavor that was perfectly matched by the fresh moz, basil, and bread. We got a second with...hard salami as well. Both divine!More

Incredible panini. There is no menu and they won't baby you, but they are friendly. We were the only tourists in the place- the rest were locals or guys who worked on the ferry boats stopping in to grab lunch. Absolutely worth a stop, just...brush up on very simple Italian on how to order what you want.More

Wonderful, traditional Italian grocery store, which also serves great sandwiches to take away - made to order, with great quality, fresh ingredients. Service is fast and friendly and prices reasonable. Would highly recommend!

Delicious, fresh and such a sweet family. Caprese panini con prosciutto was delicious and cheap. Great lunch whilst on the island or just getting off the ferry. Grab a ticket if you want to order form the deli. They are on the right as you...walk into the store.More

the ingredients were great indeed, but they were ruined by the massive hard bread they used.. i don't know about you but when I eat a sandwich I don't want 75% of it to be bread.. the whole damn loaf... nah man.. they need to...get themselves soft crunchy bread or something..More

The panini here are incredible! Huge portions, delicious tomatoes , and not expensive. The shop is tiny, but they work at speed to serve you.

Great location right in front of the Marina but you have to look for it. I saw them make the caprese pannini...fresh mozzarella, marinated tomatoes, fresh olive oil, and herbs...incredible, on a massive pannini. All for 5 Euros. Grab it, get a bag of chips...and enjoy it sitting on the marina. Way too much for one person but it would be criminal to waste... the best Pannini we have every had. Very nice people.More

I'm betting that most tourists who visit Capri are too full of themselves to even consider tracking down the best sandwich on the planet. Nope, they'd rather pay four figures for a very elegant meal at the top of the hill, or plop down in...a street-side restaurant for an overpriced beer and tired panini to get their "Capri experience." The problem with saying that Aldo's Caprese Panini, with its olive oil, garlic and basil marinated tomatoes and huge slabs of fresh mozzarella on a gorgeous ciabatta roll for around six bucks, is a life-changing experience is that the line in his humble grocery store at 10 a.m. is already way too long. Too many locals and smart visitors already know that Aldo's is reason enough to visit Capri. If the word gets out to all the tourist riff-raff hunting through Trip Advisor for the best cheap eats on Capris, we'll have to start taking an earlier ferry from Napoli or Salerno to get to his shop before he runs out, which would be damn in convenient. So no, I'll just keep quiet about it. The rest of you should too.More

Very crody, We taste them in this year the second time! But, this yeas before our boat trip we took sandwiches for family . We eat the sandwiches after lunch, on the boat, and there were so fresh, so good, and taste perfect. So ,yes.......for a boat lunch take 3 different kind of sandwiches, and you will feel wonderfull moments!!More

This was the best caprese sandwich I've ever had - the cheese, tomatoes, bread - AMAZING. Small place, always a line, give yourself time to wait. Great option for takeaway.

Given the reviews, I was really looking forward to Salumeria Da Aldo's Caprese sandwich. However, I think that it is vastly overrated, and it turned out to be the biggest letdown on our visit to Southern Italy and Capri! The bread was somewhat hard, there...was no dressing, the mozzarella had little taste, and the tomatoes just ok. No one in our family liked it. Given how good food is in Italy, this mediocre sandwich is below average. Maybe we were just unlucky.More

It's a little grocery shop, and at the back is a counter where they make sandwiches. We tried their classic caprese sandwich and their one with proscuitto. Both were good - but it is just bread, tomatoes, cheese, proscuitto and basil leaves... Simple: Nothing more,...nothing less. You get a mini loaf with each sandwich. The bread's crust was a little sharp so cut up the roof of the mouth a bit >_< Overall, a decent, simple sandwich, but overhyped in my opinion.More

to be honest ... I had very high hopes and also since I read this last reviews with so much exaggeration and details... nope it was not to our standard. nothing extraordinary. the bread is chewy and huge... I removed one side completely. we had...capris as all people here suggested the taste was ok as you expect tomato and normal mozzarella to be. no to die for and not the best I ever had... very ok but 8 euro is too much I think for such sandwich as good pizza in Anna capri was 7Euro the day before.More
