Exceptionally good food. Delicious main chicken and salsify dish. Monkfish dish - and even tofu and ponzu - were really tasty

The is one of the most joyless dining experiences I have had in a long time..I work as a private chef and my husband wanted to take me somewhere nice for dinner. Maitre de was borderline rude, we had the paired taster menu ...the wine...didn't some out with the food (maybe a ruse to get us to drink more) the 4 courses where good but not great with huge gaps between each course ..Ambience dull and lifeless...final bill three hundred euro for two ...wont be doing this again..More
Wow - what a brilliant restaurant - we absolutely loved our dinner here. Fabulous food, swanky, efficient & friendly service and all set in a very lovely but casual atmosphere - our perfect combination for a great night out! Everything we had was delicious. Just...one small word of advice - as is typical of Berlin, a lot of restaurants are difficult to find because they are hidden away in some random unassuming building - which is actually what we love about Berlin - so be ready for a challenge to find it. Once you know where it is, it is easy....it's just the first time that may be tricky for some. Thank you - we will definitely be back when we are in Berlin again! PS I have no idea why there are these recent negative reviews on Tripadvisor for this restaurant, as we had a great evening and as a couple who really appreciate good food, we would highly recommend Eins 44 to others!More
We ordered the tasting menu on a recommendation in timeout. It took 3.5 hours to have the 5 courses as the service was glacial. We had to remind the waiter what we ordered and our drinks order . Then we were asked whether we wanted...to leave a tip while he watched us choose the % of tip. The food is nice but the service was atrocious. We felt guilted in to leaving a tip for very slow and poor service.More
Nestled in a courtyard with offices above this restaurant is a little hard to find but it is well worth the effort. The locals know it well and speak highly of it. Friendly and welcoming staff contribute to the happy atmosphere. When it is warm...you sit in the courtyard and if not there is space inside. It is highly imaginative European food with a slant to a German palate. You can chose a La carte or a five course menu with an option of four out of the five courses. There are wine pairings should you wish it or you can select from an excellent wine list. We chose the four course taster menu with two of us having one option and two the other. Everything was well presented and delicious. Coffee was excellent too.More
We were extremely disappointed by this restaurant. First of all, it is located in a very sketchy neighborhood that took us a while to get to. When we got there and placed an order for appetizers for in between and the mains we did not...expect to be here for 3 1/2 hours. The service was extremely slow, and not only that, but the waitress never communicated with us and never explained anything to us, never apologized, and never offered anything for free. Also, they overcharged us for wine, charged us for bread that we thought was free.More
Slow, slow slow! the service was really poor, the food was, at best, mediocre. Very disappointing evening.
The flexibility of a la carte or 4 or 5 choices sets this sort from some similar quality restaurants. The food is stylish appealing and well flavoured . Langoustine with an accompanying prawn soufflé was delicious as were pike perch and lamb mains . Wine...by the glass is excellent value for money with a good selection . Desserts were great to look at but not quite as well constructed ( or deconstructed! ) with a slightly dry carrot cake element to one of them . Great staff very much know their stuff The atmosphere is stylish but with a laid back contemporary feel whilst the industrial design doesn’t make this fell cold in any wayMore
Absolutely fabulous! No other words! Dessert was delicious…pure heaven! The wine pairings were exceptional!
We booked this restaurant as a treat on our first night in Berlin. As newbies to Berlin, finding the restaurant in the dark and the rain in a part of Berlin definitely NOT on the tourist trail was a challenge! It really is tucked away...(in the far courtyard of an apartment complex on a street with not a lot of lighting!). Staff were welcoming and we loved the industrial chic of the room. Ask for a table on the ground floor as sound carries on all those hard, tiled surfaces and it can get noisy. Food was outstanding and we had the accompanying wine flight, which meant we got to try a good variety of German and French wines too. I'd describe the food as Modern German, lots of local ingredients but nothing outrageous or pretentious. It's pricey but definitely worth it. This was probably the best meal of our stay in Berlin.More
The setting and service were terrific. Very creative food, and much of it successful. Two members of our party, both of whom have iron stomachs, had the venison tartar. Both got food poisoning. They were extremely sick for at least 24 hours even though they're...healthy and young, so probably this would be very dangerous for someone without an iron stomach. We let the restaurant know and they told us that they are taking the venison tartar off the menu. However, they did not do any further follow up with us, so we're not sure how seriously concerned they are about their guests. If you eat here, be very careful.More
I was a part of a group visiting Eins44 and everything was PERFECT. Food was great and the service was excellent from start to finish. One of the highlights of our Berlin visit.
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants serving food with many fantastic new features and combinations. The food is still great but unfortunately missing some of the surprises and interesting combinations we have enjoyed in the past.Perhaps a new head chef??
We visited here looking for somewhere special for our last night in Berlin. This restaurant is based in an old essence distillery in the Neukolln area of the city. The location is a little difficult to locate, based inside a quiet courtyard in primarily residential...area. The location gives the impression however of being let into a secret. We booked easily via Open Table, and were nicely welcomed on arrival by the pleasant servers and reception staff. The venue was very clean and set up to observe social distancing. We chose the rabbit liver and scallop starters, both really lovely and fresh and well presented. For mains we had the pork belly and cod fish, again well executed and presented. Desserts of mango slivers and fruit coulis/cream plus the cheese course were a great end to the evening. We chose some good elegant French chardonnay and a French gamay to accompany the food. The ambience was quiet and relaxed and the overall price very much worth it. Definitely recommend.More
The best service!! The food is good, but some dishes may be unexpected in terms of taste. It’s a good experience to try.
