Interesting architecture and design of this fish market makes this place unique and atmospheric! We was visit this place Saturday about 13.00 and unfortunately it was closed inside! So we enjoy view of this building and eat our lunch in other place.

I didnt go to the restaurant upstairs or the two small "restaurants" downstairs, just bought from the fishmarket itself and stood at the table at the stairs and ate, so I cant say anything about the restaurants. Went twice. First time I bought some small...pieces of salmon prepared in different ways as a snack, it was very cheap and pretty good. Second time I bought a "salmon platter" with two kinds of salmon and potato salad and when I asked if I could have some bread to go along I got that for free. It was quite good og decently cheap.More
It's not a huge fish market, just a few sellers, but there are two restaurants right there and they use the freshest ingredients to cook. We had lunch at Gabriel's: mussels in wine and a shrimp box - it was delicious! Certainly recommend :)
Went for a lunch at Restaurang Gabriel (up the stairs) after having booked a few days in advance. Staff very friendly and helpful who takes time to chat with each guest. Had the famous box of Skagenräkor (fresh shrimps) with toast and aioli, followed by...the sill tallrik (Swedish pickled herring). To this we had a white Swedish produced Riesling, which surprised me with its wonderful crisp and fruity taste (grapes imported from Germany and processed in Sweden I should add). I can highly recommend this gem in Gothenborg, a historic ground which for some strange reason is threatened to be closed down, which would be very sad.More
If you are in city and you want to see something typical, this is to be seen. Fiskekyrkan is small but inside you can find typical Sweden food dishes and different types of fish.
Cozy small seafood market selling local cough seafood. Can recommend to eat at the restaurant Gabriel, Kajutan also have a outdoor seating perfect for a lunch on a sunny day. Worth a visit before Feskekôrka is close for renovation by the year end
This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. Situated in a fishmarket, it does not come fresher than this. Extremely nice staff, informal atmosphere. We had a variety of starters, with shrimps, mussels and langoustines. As a main course we had a whole grilled fish, not...sure which, I guess dorade. Prepared very well, brilliant taste. Will go again when in GÖTEBORG.More
If you want to buy exclusive seefood this is the place. There is also a restaurant on the second floor. The architecture resembles a Church.
A very beautiful and strange experience, it’s a fish market but looks like a church! Lots of fresh fish and shell fish at very very high prices. Come for lunch but don’t bye anything from the market, go around the corner to any local fish...market and bye for half price!More
Visited this place when it was almost closing, but we had a good look at everything and got a pasta shrimp dish to go, it was really good man those shrimp were so delicious . I don’t remember the shop name but it was on...the right side of the main entrance. Highly recommend everybody to visit this place for the fresh seafood .More
An activity that is nice to made in the city - however, there is nothing spectacular here - few stalls with fish and seafood. The prices are not that low and the food is mediocre. The products are fresh, indeed, but the recepies/taste are not...that great. A lot of mayo sauce in the salads and sandwiches which changes the taste of the food.More
We absolutely loved the Fish church. In fact we enjoyed it twice during our visit to Gothenburg. The smoked fish was incredible and we loved the salmon bites. A must try. Perfect for lunch or an afternoon snack.
This was built as an architectural trial an ended up looking like a church - just for us seafood worshipers. Browse the stalls, or eat at one of the restaurants. Our choice was based on a discovery we once made in Norway. We bought a...serving of salmon, along with boiled shrimp and prawns. There are few things better than a lunch bag of freshly boiled shrimp, eaten on a bench overlooking a canal!More
You can snoop a round and look at the pre-prepaired seafood, buy one and eat inside or outside. It is not a restaurant but probably the best food I had in that month...
It is nice and small from outside with couples of restaurants: one outside of the main entrance and one inside of the marked on the second floor. The prices are similar to Norwegians, even though everybody is saying that Sweden has a cheaper food than...Norway. I didn’t notice it at all, same in supermarkets. Oyster price at the marked was 22 kr a pice and they charge you another 3 kr per oyster to open them for you...More
