Fast and kind service, perfect cuisine. We tried the menu and pairing wines, everything was delicious. Beef brisket was one of the best I have eaten all my life.

Wonderful, attentive service from a knowledgeable staff. Wine pairing complemented exquisitely prepared starters and entrees. A most pleasant experience!
Fantastic food, friendly service, a real gem. I came here with my wife who is in a wheelchair. There are 3 steps up to the restaurant but the waiter Joni helped us up with no problems. The menu looks great and the quality of cooking...was superb - the reindeer dishes were the stars of the show: the tartare for starters probably the best of the nights with the perfectly cooked reindeer main course a close second. Dessert of chocolate, licorice and sea buckthorn was a perfect ending. Thanks, we will come back !More
Amazing food and service. We got the birthday menu and it was amazing. Can not recommend it highly enough. Loved every course!
Delicious food with very friendly service. Restaurant Aino has a new head chef since August 2022 and it is definitely worth (re)visiting. My wife had perfectly cooked reindeer whilst I enjoyed the slow cooked brisket which just melted in the mouth - highly recommended !
This cosy little restaurant ticks all the boxes for a great dinner experience in Helsinki. They serve great salmon soup and an absolutely perfect reindeer steak while offering a great selection of cocktails and international wines. The waiting staff is also absolutely lovely. If there...was one restaurant to be picked in Helsinki, this would be it.More
There eigth of us.... 6 adults and 2 youngsters. + Plusses * we hadn't checked in advance that there is no childrens menu but got half portions for them - Minutes * we had to wait long for the food.... were told that though when...we arrived but eight people don't try to find another restaurant when they have ordered a table at this restaurant * usually customers are asked what they would like to have for a drink when they come..... not our waiter. He asked it long after our arrival..... when we ordered food * very small restaurant, no textiles so could eadily hear what the nearby customers talked. Noisy place * fairly small portions.... all of us did not feel that the had enough of food. Most ordered Grilled pike perch with crayfish sauce and potato pure. Dessert in the picture: ice cream * the waiter served hurriedly.... started to collect plates away before everybody had finished their food and did not bother to ask if everybody had finished .. one had to say that she is still eating. * poor serviceMore
We visited Aino on a Saturday evening. Only half of the tables were occupied, and so the personnel had opportunity for small-talk. The restaurant has a simple Scandinavian interior design, with several paintings of Aino-named celebrities on walls. Aino´s menu is mainly based on Finnish...raw-materials which are combined with some simple accompaniments. The menu also contains beer recommendations, which all are from some minor breweries. Perhaps, some day there will also be recommendations of Finnish-made wines? All courses were good - special mention for the reindeer fillet, which was soft and tender and the medium-minus recommendation was a bullseye. The service ran smoothly without any delays. Perhaps the only problem was the size of the table, which was a little bit tight for all dishes.More
Had an early dinner with my son and his partner. The restaurant is quite small and cosy. We were slightly late from our booked table but that seemed to be okay. We were informed that our table woulbe needed two hours later for another party...and that was okay as well. Two of us had wallenberg of lamb and it was excellent. One of us had carrot crepe with vegetables and she was also happy with the meal. We paid the bill and suddenly the waiter came and reminded us that we have to leave - there were still 25 minutes to go. That was not necessary. We were on our way out anyway and our positive feelings were suddenly mixedMore
I am happy to at last have found this pearl of a restaurant in a city I have visited several times. The menu Väinämöinen is absolute delicious. Be sure I will be back😍
Reindeer fillet with rosemary sauce and potato terrine was recommended medium - and it really wad as promised. Never before have tasted such a delicious and smooth reindeer. It was superior and fitted perfectly with the red wine suggested. Similar flavour experience with overnight braised...beef brisked with root vegetables. Desserts were crown to this enjoyment.More
Really nice and welcoming atmosphere, good food and wine (we had menu “Väinämöinen” with the wine package). Our waitress was super nice and told just the right amount of the dishes and wines. Portions were ok size and the drinks we had first were really...good.More
The VÄINÄMÖINEN menu was absolutely delicious. I have never had such tasty whitefish tartar. And the raindeer filet was so tender it melted in the mouth.
Had a tasty lunch in very nice surroundings. The food was fresh and tasty and service fast and friendly. Decent pricing too, so will be back.
The restaurant has moved from near the Market Square to a new location close to the Opera Hall. The food, the staff and everything else is still the same, though. The place is upscale restaurant service 'traditional' Finnish food, sometimes with a twist. The service...is always excellent, the food is wonderful and the pricing isn't all too bad. It's not the cheapest one in town, but the quality of the food compensates that very well. Worth a visit!More
