Amazing fresh food at a good price. The walleye was cooked to perfection. I had the roasted red pepper Gouda soup (omg) and mixed vegetables. All food was wonderful.

If you’re in the Ballwin/Manchester area and looking for a place for casual dining. This is the place. I had baked walleye, followed by Apple cobbler, à la mode. I can’t say delicious enough. My server Mark was one of the best I’ve ever had....Hopefully I get to come back this weekend and try a steak or a burger.More
After another long period away from going back to LRG, we scratch our head why. Our waitress, Amanda, was terrific and was rewarded. Our lunch food choices were great, all but a little pricey IOO. I.e. $50 total for 2 lunches with soft drinks and...no dessert. The atmosphere is pleasant with plenty of food choices. We were there at 1230 on a Saturday and nearly had the place to ourselves and it wasn't that cold yet. Maybe they need to advertise more or mail out coupons to improve business and get customers to like LRG like we do.More
We traveled 22 miles from home on our 46th anniversary to have the Walleye special at Lazy River Grill. Wow! What a treat. It was lightly fried with a fine breading served with cubed red potatoes, sautéed onions and sweet peppers along with cole slaw....Christy provided us with exemplary service. When she found out it was our anniversary she took our picture. Then she printed & mounted it on a card for us as a keepsake. The restaurant is tastefully decorated in a whimsical fishing motif that reminded us of the restaurant in Custer, South Dakota where we first fell in love with Walleye. This is the first time I’ve written a review like this but we had such a nice experience that we thought it was deserved and warranted. Thank you Lazy River Grill for a fine memory and a very satisfying meal.More
For whatever reason we had not been back to LRG in quite some time. Tonight was the night to eat a nice meal and celebrate our friends birthday from last Sunday. He enjoyed his burger ($10.99), I chose their shore platter ($18.99) and she had...their fried clams ($14.99). We all thoroughly enjoyed our choices served with great attention by Amanda. My wife and I especially like their dinner salad with their Green Goddess dressing on it. Everything was great. We'll be back sooner than later.More
Pleasant surprise! There were no recent reviews for this restaurant, but a local magazine had a nice write up so wife and I tried for lunch today. I had a large perfectly cooked walleye fillet that was lightly breaded, with sides of french fries, and...sauteed fresh zucchinni. Mine was excellent. Wife had the small lodge salad that was not as crisp as it could have been, but the coconut shrimp was very, very good. We sat out on the front patio under a shade umbrella since it was a cooler day here. This appears to be a locally popular neighborhood place. We will come here again.More
I ordered the blackened tilapia it was very good. Moist and good flavor! Steve was our server he was very attentive and very nice! I will definitely be going back here in the future!!
The Walleye with a light breading, seasoning was absolutely fantastic. (They will bake if you prefer). It was very mild and a generous portion, and even the tartar sauce was delicious. The french fries, coleslaw, all of it so tasty. Blackberry cobbler for the win:)...Sophie was a wonderful waitress.More
My wife and I went to Lazy River Grill last Friday evening based on Tripadvisor reviews. Turned out to be the first time that I‘ve been disappointed by Tripadvisor reviews. I genuinely feel bad that I can’t honestly give Lazy River Grill a favorable review,...but the food was totally forgettable. Not bad, just unremarkable in every respect other than overpriced. My wife ordered a steak. I ordered the special: Chicken Oscar (chicken breast with crab cake and hollandaise sauce on top), which the waitress told me was fabulous. To call it average would be generous. Wasn‘t even warm by the time it was served to me. The best thing about Lazy River Grill is the décor. The location is a neighborhood strip mall. The clientele was predominately a senior crowd - appeared to be locals who prefer not to drive far from home. The people seated at tables nearest to us mostly ordered hamburgers and sandwiches.More
We have been coming to Lazy River for nearly 15 years and rhe quality has remained high. We decided to visit tonight after the Covid dining restrictions were relaxed. Amanda, our waitress, has provided consistent high personal service for years. Our go to meal is...the Shore Dinner which is a fresh water fish breaded in their special breading. It is not deep fried. It comes with a house salad, steamed vegetables and a corn/black bean relish. Their frog legs are tender and not stringy. I highly recommend Lazy River Grill.More
We had a coup so we chose to go to LRG for my wife's birthday last night. We made a reservation in advance because of limited seating due to Covid 19. We were seated immediately with table spacing. Our terrific waitress, Kim, let us know...that they were offering "Festival" specials for either their luscious Walleye or very good alternate "Basa" fish. They cost $15.45 or $13.45 each respectively with their terrific house dressed salad, slaw and potato medley. BTW, we opted for the salad upgrade. Since the festival specials were discounted, we could not use the coup we brought. NP! Kim brought us their cheese and crackers upon request. They made my wife's birthday super by taking and framing a picture of us along with a piece of tasty cheesecake. Thank you so much Lazy River Grill. We'll be back with or without coupons. You made us feel so welcome and filled us up with tasty well prepared foods.More
We returned to LRG for our group's weekly lunch outing, since we all had a taste for fish and used a groupon we had purchased. We were well served by Stacey, all enjoyed our Basa breaded "shore" lunches priced at $10.99 with a side and...find the place comfortable. Note: You need to ask for crackers and cheese spread that is VG. Always an enjoyable experience.More
First visit. Had some gift certificates from a recent charity auction. Interesting decor with fishing gear and other decorations over every inch of the wall. The selection was good. The crab cakes were the best I have had, even in comparison to much more expensive...restaurants and those when I was living in Baltimore. The walleye sandwich was enormous and cooked perfectly. We had a cobbler with extra ice cream for desert which was great. No draft beer, but good bottle selection.More
One of our favorites when visiting St. Louis. Really nice neighborhood restaurant. Tasty food and quick service. Food is always tasty.
Nice local restaurant with friendly service. It has been in this location for a number of years and has a solid client base. The menu is not extensive and the decor is getting a little tired, but the food (particularly the walleye) is always good.
