Very easy to get there, a place for those who like history. It is a place for a walk and learn. Do not recommend using car to get there.

What a slice of history is represented here..... From medeival times up until present military presence and recent WWII relevance. A fair amount of walking on uneven and steep surfaces so wear proper footgear!
Akershus Fortress is located in the heart of Oslo, close to Oslo Sentral, and the ferry terminal. If you've got some extra time, it's a great place to walk around and check out the great views of the harbour. The fortress does have some exhibits but most of them open at 11am or later. I wouldn't say this place is a must-see as there are more interesting attractions in Oslo worth checking out.
Easy walk from the Main Street
Well preserved and beside the Resistance Mueseum
Be a part of history and dream
This was a beautiful fortress on the hill over looking Oslo Harbour. Easy to walk around with some inclines but again worth it for the views
We visited the Akershus Castle and Fortress on a recent trip to Oslo. The grounds are freely open to the public and we saw many locals and tourists making good use of the area. We didn't have time to visit inside on this occassion.
