Do not miss this monastery it is one of the best. It is a place which takes your breath away when you enter. Even if you are fed up with monasteries do NOT miss this one. You must dress modestly but it is free to enter.

Even in dull weather, there is something about the place that makes the visit a truly spiritual experience. A must-see.
This monastery is decorated with marble stones and mosaics that were specified to the 2nd Gold Era of the Byzantine art 11-12 century. It was declared by Unesco as World Legacy site.
This delightful monastery was included in a tour with Voyages to Antiquity. It is located in a very remote location high on a hillside with grandiose views of the countryside. The buildings are extremely well maintained. The sense of history is pervasive. The Byzantine architecture is classic.
A unique symbol of byzantine herritage and architecture.Perfect place to come closer to nature and feel calm-balance-relax through spiritual prosses.Even if someone is not interested in religious sites, it worths a try. The urban site in the inner plaza is unique and the view is breathtaking.
The mosaics are incredible and this is worth the visit. We visited a total of 3 monasteries during our trip including Daphni and monasteries on Lesvos. These visits enhanced our overall trip and were well worth the time to get to each.
