Our 4th year staying here. This time we were a group of 7 so had a bigger apartment. Great location close to supermarket and slopes. Facilities excellent. We cooked a full roast dinner, lasagne, chilli and had everything needed. The apartments a really warm so we had to turn down heating.

Reception is helpful and we had internet during our stay but sometimes it was intermittent. Great sauna, shower and facilities. The beds look thin but are really good and we all had a great sleep

Booked as part of a ski holiday package these apartments are so close to the town - a short walk to tourist information, to a couple of decent supermarkets, a snowmobile hire centre and the main ski slope ski lifts. Levi is a reasonable sized town with some good restaurants and lots of activities for the non skier. The apartment that we got would be better described as a wooden chalet - triple insulated everything! Good spacious living room come kitchen with a TV with limited but useable channels (nearly always showing an english language movie with sub titles). smaller sized bedrooms but perfectly functional. Excellent bathroom with shower and our own personal sauna -which was an unexpected bonus - it heated up quickly and was great after a day on the slopes. Good cooker with oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, washing machine and dish washer - all in very good condition. Plenty of pots pans and a coffee machine (needed filters) plus cutlery and crockery - everything we needed except a tin opener - and reception provided that after a 3 minute wait! Reception only opens from noon till 8pm and therein lies the problem - when the useless internet needs re-booting (ie before you go out for the day or later at night) and its not working there is no one around to reboot it. So i had no wifi on 4 mornings and 5 nights. Not good. But that was the only let down. One other srprise - you either have to pay for the room to be cleaned when you leave or buy the materials to clean it!

Room tip: ask for one near reception so that you dont have to negotiate a slope - which can be tricky in snow/ice

I booked the 6 person cottage for a week for me and my husband to stay in over New Year. I'm glad we hadn't booked anything smaller or we would have felt really cramped. First impressions of the space were good.

I had ordered linen for the 2 of us but there was only 1 sheet, 1 towel, 1 pillowcase etc, so I had to go back to reception for another set. When I started making the bed I thought I had just a single sheet so I went back to reception for a double where I was told these were the only size of sheets available. This sheet just laid over the top of the double bed and didn't fit properly as there was no sheet left to tuck in around the edges. That said, the bed was very comfortable and we slept well. It would have been handy to have had something by the side of the bed to put things on like glasses of water etc instead of just the floor.

I thought the cottage was generally a bit tired and grubby...dirty tiles and splashbacks, chopping boards put in drawers covered in crumbs and cutlery put away without being washed up! The sitting room looked like it needed redecorating and some of the seat covers were a bit manky and unappealing. A couple of the dining table chairs were very rickety. It was great having a log fire and free wood on site although the design of the fire means it's very smoky. Once you pull out the big damper smoke leaks out of the damper hole which I plugged up with loo roll. Now all our clothes pong of wood smoke.

The sauna was great. We had saunas every day although it wrecked my hair! I didn't find the hairdryer until the very last day when my husband noticed it was on top of the washing machine and dryer. At five foot four, I had no chance of seeing it up there! I tried using the washing machine and dryer without success as there were no washing symbols and it was all in Finnish. As the wifi on the site only worked for about 20 minutes in the whole week it wasn't possible to get translations online to use these. Hanging things up in the bathroom with the underfloor heating and sauna meant things were dry by the next day though.

All in all - just OK. I am a bit disappointed at the quality for the price we paid. 6 people would struggle to fit into this cottage at once for sure. If I came back to Levi I would stay somewhere else. If you want something very basic then this place would work for you. The cottages are very central and very handy for the ski slopes and shops and the people running the site are friendly and helpful.

This was our second visit to Levi but our first to these chalets. We stayed here in December 2012 and I have been meaning to write this review for some time. We stayed in a one room chalet, for two adults and one child it was fine but may have been a bit of a squeeze for three adults.
We found the chalet to be well equipped it had everything you could need for a self catering holiday, we never made use of all the equipment. Many people comment that Levi is an expensive place but we found the supermarkets reasonably priced (approx Sainsbury's Marks and Spencers and Waitrose price range). The only thing we found to be expensive was junk food and alcohol, if you are willing to cook from fresh ingredients meals need not be that expensive.
If using the dishwasher be sure to select a short programme as it can seem to go on forever.
The DVD player was very handy to watch Christmas movies to get us into the festive spirit. Also many English language films were played on TV with Finnish subtitles.
The accommodation was spotless on arrival, yes you do have to make up your own beds on arrival but I felt this was a small price to play for such lovely accommodation.
The beds were comfortable and my little one loved sleeping on the bunk above the double.
There was just enough storage available for clothes as we tended to keep our outer clothes in the dryer. The dryer did break during our holiday and a replacement part was not available until the end of the week so we were given keys to use another drying cupboard.

We were never really disturbed by any external noise, despite being in such a central location. We found the lady on reception to be helpful and polite and dealt with any enquiries/ problems efficiently.
Internet access could be a bit temperamental but did not find this a problem.

The sauna was lovely and we didn't have any problems with it quickly heating up.

We booked through Inghams, we had already booked the excursions we wanted so didn't make use of the rep although he did come round to check we were ok and said he would pop around again, to which I told him not to as we were fine and would easily find him if we had any problems.

We all really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again if we were to visit Levi again.
